Welcome to paradise. Our recently acquired 2 bedroom, 2 bath, 1161 sq. ft. condo is completely remodeled in 2014 and ready for you to enjoy.

The large 25’ lanai puts you incredibly close to the water. You’ll love the oceanfront dining and relaxing, where you can enjoy breakfast, lunch or dinner while watching the dolphins, sea turtles and fish dance in the waves plus see the whales during season. The lanai is fully covered, with a Hunter ceiling fan for your comfort, and is your own private place to see the incredible Kona sunsets.

The sliding glass doors and screens in the living room slide back entirely into pockets, opening up the living room and kitchen to the lanai and oceanfront experience. The lanai overhangs the pool and you have an unobstructed view of the reef, bay, beautiful sunsets and sandy beach.

Hale Pohaku was designed by award winning Hawaii architect Vladimir Ossipoff, called the “master of modern Hawaiian architecture”. It shares no common walls with other units, allowing flow through ventilation from the floor-to-ceiling louvers in every room. His unique design incorporates Kamaaina (local) style. The cool ocean breezes bring in the fresh air and are complimented by Hunter ceiling fans in each room, even the kitchen and master bathroom. The complex feels very private with only 6 units sharing the oceanfront pool, paddle tennis court and covered parking. The pool was converted to light salt in 2014, eliminating the need for chlorine and feels much better on your suntanned skin.

Inside our condo, you’ll find beautiful new furniture, granite countertops, Koa cabinets and fresh, contemporary bathrooms. The furniture and king size beds in both the master bedroom and second bedroom are custom crafted by a local artist and features the Honu (turtle) carved in the wood. The unit is fully stocked with linens and towels, including beach towels, along with a selection of beach toys. The kitchen has top end appliances and everything you need to prepare meals featuring local produce from the nearby farmers markets. In the living room, you’ll find a new 46” Sony full HD TV, DVD and audio system.

Location, location, location! The location is unique with a small white sand beach just steps away and your own private seawall gate to get there. Beyond the beach, there is a nice size wading area surrounded by lava and a coral reef. You could spend hours here in the water exploring or on the sand sun bathing. If you have children, they will love it when the turtles come over to the shore to visit. They are very curious and amazing to watch up close. And you’ll find other great beaches and surf spots close by. Finally, the oceanfront pool has plenty of patio furniture, shaded section and a grassy area for sunbathing, plus its own bathroom and shower. These are a few of the many reasons Hawaiian royalty picked Kona as their home!

We are close enough to town to walk (about a mile and a half), with lots of scenery to see along the way. You can head to town in the morning to have breakfast and then walk it off on the way back to the condo, followed by a swim to cool off. You can also hop on the Kona-Keauhou trolley as a stop is only a block away and it runs from about 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. The open air Alii Gardens Marketplace is about ¼ mile away, with local crafts, coffee and foods.

During the Kona Ironman in October, Hale Pohaku puts you right in the action as the triathletes train on Ali’i Drive. During the race, the athletes run south on Ali’i Drive, passing right by Hale Pohaku on their way to Keauhou. There they turn and head north again on Ali’i, passing Hale Pohaku a second time as they compete in the final leg of the Triathlon. Just set up your beach chair and cheer them on for the final leg of the Kona Ironman.

We hope that you enjoy our new oceanfront paradise as much as we do!

3 night minimum, 10 nights during Ironman and Christmas. This is a no pets, no smoking property. Hawaii Tax ID: W48684779-01

This place was so nice that I didn't want to leave it during the day. The view of the ocean from the veranda was so spell binding. The unit is very nice. The only downside is that there is no AC so the warm nights are a challenge although there are plenty of fans in the rooms. Highly recommended and I would definitely stay there again.

Exceptionally Beautiful Kona Condo

Beverlee L. from Dallas, OR recommends this property
Stayed 9 days in Apr, 2016
Our recent 9 night stay at Hale Pohaku #1 was outstanding in every way. The location, view, and decor were unbelievably beautiful. The Hawaiian architectural design and locally crafted furniture, especially the KOA cabinetry and the carved Honu headboards and living room glassed-topped table, created such a special ambience to the condo. The ocean view and pounding surf were amazing and ever changing. Unbelievable colors! The floor to ceiling louvers throughout the condo were perfect-we enjoyed leaving them open our entire stay. Location is ideal-close proximity to so many parts of the island. The amenities provided were beyond expectations-we especially loved the refrigerator and quiet dishwasher. Kona Coast Vacations checked in with us our first morning and provided all the information needed to contact them day or night, which we never had reason to. The associated concierge service was most helpful making luau reservations and providing listings of the best beaches, farmers' markets, restaurants, etc. Also, the directions from the airport were spot on. Easy driving all over the island. After returning each day from our adventures, (Volcano, coffee plantation, Pu'uhonua o Honaunau-City of Refuge, Punalu'u Black Sand Beach, St. Benedict Painted Church, Waimea and much more) the lanai was always our first stop. Really breathtaking each and every second. We were also in the surf with turtles at White Sands Beach, just a few minutes south. Our only complaint - we had to leave. Hoping to return some day! We highly recommend this very special, very private condo in paradise.

Wonderful Stay

Beautiful condo overlooking the ocean. Stocked with everything you could ever need or want (on second thought we did need to buy beer and wine). Perfect place for couples traveling together. Sunsets were unbelievable. Never even used to pool as we enjoyed simply sitting on our lanai.
Kona Coast Vacations was awesome. Very attentive to our needs. We couldn't get the TV to work and within minutes we had a maintenance fellow arrive to REPLACE the TV. Unreal.
