Scuba and Snorkeling
One of the most unique ways to explore Hawaii is underwater, and anyone can do it while visiting the Big Island. Scuba requires some training, though a number of area dive schools are available. The easiest way to explore Hawaii's underwater habitats it snorkeling. Many area shops rent equipment, and you can head to the beach on your own. Or sign up for a special tour with local guides who will take you by boat to the best snorkel spots.
