The pool was a little cool for comfortable swimming, but the house is up the mountain quite a bit. The kitchen is great, the furnishings are beautiful, and the master suite is fantastic! The pictures don't do justice to this home -- it is very private yet has openess, light and huge views of Kona and the water. Our family spent 10 days here, regrouping each evening to share stories, take a dip in the pool and watch the sunset. What a great place for a family or 2 or 3 couples to gather! It was much more than we expected - it was perfect! The home was spotless and had everything there you could possibly need or want. The view of the ocean and Kona was spectacular. The neighbourhood very quiet and secluded. Normally after our vacation I'm ready to go back to the comforts of my own home - I could have stayed there forever. We will always have the wonderful memories of our vacation on the Big Island and this home made it all possible. After a long day of touring we were always so happy to return to our (temporary) home and all its creature comforts. Everything you could imagine was available on site, everything from wine openers to any appliance you could think of. The yard was imaculate and the view, the view was worth the entire cost. This has to be one of the nicest homes on the island and just a 5 minute drive to downtown Kona. Great is every aspect of the word and a vacation property you will never forget. Lovely Home in ParadiseMartin B from Quincy, CA recommends this property Stayed 9 days in November, 2007 We travel quite extensively and always rent homes. Hale Aikane is above and beyond your ordinary rental. We truly felt like pampered guests with every high end amenity included. The view was outstanding and we always looked forward to seeing which cruise ship was docked for us to see that morning. We loved the disappearing pocket doors between the pool and the living area as we could be sitting in the living room and still feel as if we were sitting by the pool. It really enlarged the whole living space. We enjoyed the feeling of outdoor living especially in the tropical climate. The home is in a very nice neighborhood and yet very private because of the way the house is situated on its lot. The value for your money in renting this home is beyond compare.
There is no doubt you will enjoy your stay at this beautiful home. We hope to return in the future.
