Celebrating Earth Day 2026: 20 Years of Aloha, Sustainability, and Stewardship

Earth Day 2026 is Wednesday, April 22nd, and at Kona Coast Vacations, our commitment to Hawai‘i’s natural beauty runs deeper than the ocean. For 20 years, we’ve been proud stewards of this island we call home—caring for our guests, our homeowners, and the land that makes it all possible.

This Earth Day, we’re celebrating not just where we’ve been, but how we continue to grow responsibly—through everyday actions that protect Hawai‘i’s fragile ecosystems while delivering the hospitality our guests love.

Eco-Friendly Laundry Practices

Did you know our eco-friendly laundry systems save over one million gallons of water every year? That’s the equivalent of 15,000 showers or 2.5 million reusable water bottles.

Every time you stay with Kona Coast Vacations, you’re helping conserve one of Hawai‘i’s most precious resources. By using advanced energy-efficient washers, water-recycling technology, and biodegradable detergents, we ensure that every clean sheet contributes to a cleaner planet.

Solar-Powered & Sustainable Operations

Our commercial laundry and property operations are powered in part by Hawaiian sunshine. Solar energy fuels our laundering systems, and our office facilities use LED lighting and smart climate controls to reduce our carbon footprint.

Harnessing renewable energy isn’t just smart business—it’s our way of honoring the islands’ abundant natural resources and ensuring they remain vibrant for generations to come.

Supporting the Preservation of Hawai‘i

We see ourselves as more than a vacation rental management company—we’re caretakers of place. From waste-reduction programs and local recycling initiatives to encouraging guests to “leave only footprints,” our team takes every opportunity to minimize impact.

We partner with island-based vendors who share our sustainability values and encourage guests to book eco-friendly activities through our Kona Coast Concierge.

We’ve Gone Digital—Saving 17,500 Sheets of Paper Annually

Our traditional spiral-bound guest guidebooks have been replaced by digital versions accessible via tablet or smartphone. This small shift saves roughly 17,500 sheets of paper each year, while giving guests real-time updates on check-in info, activities, and dining recommendations.

It’s sustainability with convenience—an Earth-friendly upgrade for the modern traveler.
