Can I mail something to my vacation rental?

For security, we suggest any items that need be mailed be sent to our Kona Office and picked up on your arrival. We are open 7 days a week from 8am-5pm

Do you have wedding/event venues?

Unfortunately, we do not manage any properties that allow any gatherings of any sort. A recently passed Hawaii County law 114-18 has provided strict guidelines for Vacation rentals along the Kona and Kohala Coast which include guest occupancy, guests utilizing off street parking, monitored guest noise levels and quiet times that must be followed.  Therefore, we cannot allow weddings or other events such as luaus, family reunions, large parties, etc. We apologize we are not able to be more flexible.

Along with the County laws, community and/or HOA guidelines, we have our own published rental policies.  Each home has an occupancy count published and the overnight guests cannot exceed that number.  The policies state that you may have people over. However, the number of guests cannot exceed the occupancy of the home.  The systems including HVAC, pools, spas, parking and sewage systems are not set up to handle any large groups over the max occupants. Along with being considerate to the neighbors and community guidelines, these homes were built particularly for the normal occupancy of the home.

Does my rental come with beach equipment?

We provide one beach towel per guest. Any other beach amenities that may be in the unit were left by previous guests or the owners. At your own risk, you are welcome to use these items if present, but we do not guarantee any such items, nor are we responsible for the condition of the items left. Does my rental have baby supplies?

No. We feel you deserve the latest, sanitized, up to date and recall covered products for your baby.  So, we suggest connecting with a few local vendors for all your keiki’s (kids) needs while on vacation.

What time is check in / check out?

Check in is at 4pm and check out is at 11am

Can I schedule a Late Check Out?

The only way to guarantee a later check out time is to purchase an extra night. Please note check-out time is 11:00 am. Your second option, is to contact us the day before departure, no later than noon to see if a late check out is available. If we can accommodate the late check out it will be a half nights rent.  This option is only valid if our Inspectors, Cleaners and Maintenance Department provide clearance and if there is no arrival the following day.  This will accommodate a late checkout for your same departure date until midnight. Please understand an authorization for a late check out is at the discretion of Kona Coast Vacations.

Can I schedule an Early Check In?

Due to scheduled cleaning and maintenance we cannot offer early check-ins. Unlike a hotel, that has multiple rooms that are identical and can be substituted for each other, we only have one unique property to provide you. To insure we provide you with this unique property in the condition you deserve, we often are working right up to the check in time. Our electronic locks are set up to open at 4:00 pm Hawaii Time. Please arrange to arrive at the home any time after 4:00 pm check in time. After your flight arrival, you may call our office to inquire on the property status. We appreciate your understanding.

What is the cancellation policy?

Cancellations made ninety (90) days or more prior to arrival with written notice shall be given a full refund minus $150.00 cancellation fee. Cancellations of less than ninety (90) days prior to arrival shall forfeit the entire rent and excise tax (less cleaning fee) unless we are able to re-rent the property. Travel insurance is available; please see Tab on our site labeled Guest Services/Travel Insurance. Refunds on any forfeiture will be issued based on the dollar value received when the unit is re-rented for the same dates as the canceled reservation. Nevertheless, all reservations are subject to a $150.00 change fee. There is no refund or discounts for early departure or no shows.

How much do I pay upon booking?

If your arrival is 90 days or less, the total cost of your reservation is due upon booking. If your arrival date is more than 90 days ahead, upon booking you will only pay 25% of the total cost of your reservation.

What do I do & when do I pay the Final Balance?

We do it all! 90 Days prior to your arrival, we will charge the credit/debit card on file the remaining balance on your reservation, you will also receive an emailed receipt of the monies paid for your records.

What is the Peace of Mind Protection Plan?

Accidents do happen, so to protect our guests as well as the property owner, we have created an alternative to the old school “security deposit”. Instead of holding $3,000 of your vacation money in advance, we only charge a $49 flat rate, non-refundable fee for the Peace of Mind Protection Plan. This damage waiver protection will cover up to $3,000 of accidental damage, for only $49. All you do is report any accidental damage to KCV when it happens.  Any damage not reported or considered willful will be charged to the guest.

Is there a security deposit?

If you would like to opt out of our Peace of Mind Protection plan, at the time of booking online you will have an option to choose a security deposit of $3,000. This amount will be added to your reservation and charged immediately; after your departure, your unit will be inspected and if all is well it will be refunded in full, back to the card on file.

What is the difference between Travel Insurance and the Peace of Mind Protection?

The Peace of Mind Protection Plan is a damage waiver policy, creating as an alternative to a $3,000 security deposit to protect the guest and homeowners from any accidental damage that may happen in the unit during your stay. Peace of Mind Protection is NOT travel insurance and is an entire different entity. Protect your full vacation, from leaving your home till your return, with Red Sky travel insurance. This policy will cover any unforeseen events that may occur and disrupt your trip. The most common instances covered are trip cancellation, delays, sickness, injury, rental car damage and natural disaster.
