We could not be more happy with the decision to book Mauna Lani Fairways 1101 for our stay from November 11 - 26, 2018. The property was as advertised and even more. The townhouse styled unit is very spacious with more than enough room to house up to 5 guests. We only used it for the 2 or us. The property was exceptionally clean and maintained in great order for our stay. We arrived late in the evening and the property pre check service had left lights on for our arrival making check-in very easy (as everyone that has stayed in the area before, it can be very dark in the evening). All the communication throughout the booking, stay, and departure process was handled extremely professionally by the staff of Kona Coast Vacations. Booking with a professional management company gave us the confidence that we made the right choice. We support #BookDirect with professional managers like Kona Coast Vacations because they provide all the important services to ensure our stay is the best and saving us having to pay out unnecessary booking fees to HomeAway/VRBO or Airbnb. We highly recommend them and save yourself money and seek them out directly before booking with the online travel booking platforms. The property development came with an amazing outdoor pool and lava rock spa pool that was resort styled in size and scope with less the crowds. However, the best is for last. The property renters all get access to the exclusive Mauna Lani Beach Club with private parking, restaurant, and one of the best beaches on the Kohala Coast. The beach may not be large, but it might be the best places to snorkel in the region. Experience all the marine wildlife to your hearts content in relatively calm waters. Snorkel Bobs at the The Shops at Mauna Lani just a couple minutes away can set you up with snorkel gear. Say hello (from a distance) to the many Honu sea turtles. (little hint, get down to the beach club early such as 8:30 AM to get a cabana and snorkel early before larger crowds show up.) There are many beaches in the region that you should experience as well from Hapuna Beach to Beach 69 or the not so well known Beach 49 black sand beach to name a few. The Fairmont Orchid is literally a 10 minute walk from the property where you can access some great food and entertainment. The Mauna Lani Resort is currently closed until the end of 2019 going through a major renovation and re-build, however, when it re-opens it will provide more restaurants and experiences to the resort area. Waikaloa Resort is just to the south with great shopping, theaters, restaurants etc in the Queen and King Shops. You will also find great stores and restaurants at The Shops at Mauna Lani just down the street such as Tommy Bahamas store and restaurant and Food Land Grocery Store. Some other great places to check out is Waimea (cattle town 2500 feet above) and its great shops and must experience breakfast at Hawaiian Style Cafe (order the pancakes, we dare you). Also take the self tour of the Parker Ranch houses with its deep cattle ranching history and more. Hawi and Kaapau (considered the birthplace for King Kamehameha I) are wonderful historic towns at the north end of the Big Island along the Kohala Coast (make stops at Keokea Park and the amazing views and hike into the Pololu Valley which is at the end of the road). Love mac nuts? Go to Hamakua Macadamia Nut Co in Kawaihae and take a tour and get amazing various flavoured macadamia nuts (wasabi flavour was off the charts) and other baked goodies, tropical dreams ice cream (made in Waimea), and local produced coffee. Take the Mamalahoa Highway from Waimea to Hilo (side excursion to Waipi'o Valley) and see Akaka Falls, many little historic sugar plantation towns, as well as some of the best large waves to watch at Laupāhoehoe Beach Park. We could add the many other places from exploring Kona, volcanoes, coffee tours, star gazing on Mauna Kea. It would take a life time to see all that there is to see on the Big Island. However, if you do, book Mauna Lani Fairways 1101 with Kona Coast Vacations.

It was a fabulous place and we loved it but only problem we had with mattresses, upstairs primary mattress has low swell spot in the middle this create back pain for elders. Same as sofa sleeper mattress, also there’s low swell spot but was better than master bed so parents stayed in sleeper sofa and kid stayed in mater since he is little. Quiet, very nice place no doubt, loved the place!

Great condo we really enjoyed our stay. Here are a few suggestions the condo needs more silverware especially forks. It also needs more tupperware with lids, better pillows for the beds (they were all huge and we had to use pillows from the couch).

Great location. I have stayed in this complex multiple times before and this place was good, not great. There were bikes in the garage, but not availed for use of home renters, the beds were a bit hard, and the unit is an end unit, but there is another unit that looks upon the lania, so not as private as I thought. Overall it was good.

The pool in the center of the complex was big and beautiful. The grocery store and shops was just down the road and very convenient. And the beach club is awesome. Great for a family vacation spot.

Great location. Walkable to the beach by the Fairmont Orchid. Nice accommodations for a family of 4. Condo had everything we needed and there was a market down the street for groceries. There is a tennis and pickle ball at the mauna lani fitness center for a fee near by. The beach club and restaurant on site is such a treat.

The house and neighborhood were both great. The time of year likely had an impact, but it was very quiet and we didn't have to share the pool with many people. Location was nice, 30min from the airport, 30min to Waimea and 40min to Kailua-Kona. The swim gear, while not guaranteed, was nice to have.

It Was Perfect

We selected this unit because of the ground level bedroom and bath for someone with mobility issues who wasn't comfortable going up and down stairs. She was able to have her own space downstairs, while my wife and I used the upstairs bedroom, and it was perfect. We've stayed at The Fairways in the past, and really enjoy the location, the amenities, and the units. Everything on this visit was excellent, and the unit well-appointed and comfortable.

Property was as described as well as clean and quiet. The only issue was one of the bicycles had several missing/broken spokes so could not really be used as the wheel wobbles. One of the Best Units

I have rented many properties throughout the Hawaiian islands and this is one of the best The unit is very close to the Fairmont Orchid(8 min walk). It is a 2 storey unit so the bedrooms are separated with own bathrooms. Beds are comfy and unit was very clean. What struck me was how well the unit was appointed. It had every appliance you can think of. It also had almost all the oils, vinegars and spices needed for delicious meals. Not sure if left from previous renters but appreciated. The powerful bbq in the outdoor kitchen was very handy. Only thing missing was oven mitts and bbq utensils. Plenty of towels and linens but if you run out there's full size washer and dryer. Water toys, board, chairs and noodles are provided. There is foodland market a couple mins away. A Tommy bahama restaurant is located in the same plaza. Great pool and hot tub. Very quiet. The gym is adequate. The unit has access to the Mauna Lani private beach club. Lovely small crescent beach. Not crowded. It is a bit far to walk.but there is access to parking. If I'm ever going to stay in this area again this will be my go to.

Great Place!

We stayed for almost two weeks in this townhouse. The grounds and beautiful and the Mauna Lani area is one we love. The private beach is the reason we return to this area year after year. The kitchen is well stocked. The only suggestion we have for the owners/mgmt company is to get a new bed in the primary room upstairs - it is worn out. Great place and we would return again!

We are a family of 3, including a 2yr old and an accompanying nanny. We loved our stay. The house was plenty spacious for 4. Wonderful peaceful neighborhood with great landscaping and aesthetic touches. What we loved… Great Lanai with BBQ Kitchen was modern, spacious, and well equipped Huge Master Bedroom with Jacuzzi tub Umbrellas, chairs, beach towels and any toy imaginable for children to play with at the beach including a floaty. Grocery store was a 2 minute drive or 10 minute walk (very handy ) Great beaches nearby (and very helpful guides at place) Great washer and dryer Kona Concierge is great at responding to any questions and needs. Things that could be improved: The gym is only by sign up, and 1 person at a time, and someone who lives there told us it is not for short term renters, so there is some confusion around that. If the gym is important to you, clarify this beforehand. We could not get the DVD players to work even with trouble shooting guide. Not many inexpensive restaurants/takeout nearby. (That's why grocery store was so great!) Air conditioner didn't work one day, and it was very hot, we found out all doors must be shut and locked for it to work. The pool was closed while we were there. It looked really nice. We were drooling.

We had a nice stay at #1101 at the Fairways. The unit was very nicely decorated with a great lanai with a view and beautiful sunsets. We had some issues with bugs which can happen in Hawaii but the staff at Kona Coast was very responsive. . I would stay with Kona Coast again!

Property manager was very attentive with repairs that needed to be made. Only downside was the location but the Big Island is very big so you need a car to get around the island. Grocery stores were within driving and walking. Food Island which you can walk to was more expensive than the big grocery store about 6 miles away and much more reasonably priced. Queen and King Malls were fun with restaurants and shopping. Close by. Big cities of Kona and Hilo were 30 minutes and 2 1/2 hour drives.

This is a comfortable, well stocked condo in a great location. The private beach access and pool area are wonderful. We enjoyed grilling on the lanai daily. The condo is clean and updated. The tropical landscaping is kept in pristine condition.

We had a fabulous 5 day stay at this well located condo. It proved to be beyond our expectations: spacious, tastefully decorated & immaculate, quiet, sunset views from upstairs master, comfy beds, good lighting, plentiful amenities (they thought of everything!). It’s a great location near the Fairmont Orchid. The customer service from Kona Vacations was excellent and prompt. We highly recommend & would stay here again.

The villa was large and very pleasant for a 6 night stay. The pool is less than 2 minute walk; refreshing. Have to drive 5 minutes to the resort beach area; and there are chairs and umbrellas on first-come, first-serve basis; we had no problems getting one by 10 a.m. each day. There is a FoodLand grocery store in the resort complex, so we were able to prepare meals and not eat out. Overall, I highly recommend the property.

Accommodations were spotless and well-stocked. We took full advantage of the beach supplies that were in the unit. Very quiet surroundings. Pool area was fabulous- with options in full sun and shade. Location was very close/central to the different activities and dining that we participated in. Would recommend this vacation location.

Exceptional location, very well equipted house

Our stay was very enjoyable. The house is extremely well equipped and offers generous space for a comfortable stay. The location is perfect. There is a nice view on the golf course, shops and restaurants are near by. The access to the beach and to the local snorkeling spots are easy and permits are included. Geographically and strategically the house is well positioned. Access to all tourist attractions is no problem and the distances are small. Maintenance and service were excellent. Unfortunately the architects have positioned the ACs of the two neighboring houses with a direct view onto the lanais (ground floor and 1st floor) of the unit. Instead of being able to profit from the exceptional view the noise if the ACs is accompanying you. It is unfortunate, but it does not diminish all the other exceptional qualities of the unit.

We loved our five day stay at this unit---great location, well equipped, comfy, and beautiful sunset views. We ate breakfast every morning on the quiet, serene lanai facing the golf course and ocean. The kitchen is well stocked for making meals; Foodland nearby at the Shops. Lots of beach towels in the unit to use at the private beach club nearby; washer and dryer work great too. The unit is very comfortable...we lounged on the comfy couch at night as we planned the next activities for the next day---so much to see on the Big Island! We used the TV and DVD player one night and they both worked great. Guide books in the unit to help you plan day trips. At night I fell asleep with the soft breezes and slept well; in the morning the birds were singing as we ate breakfast. Even on the first day you can feel the city stress leaving your body. Ha. I did not want to leave. So glad we got away to this amazing place and I look forward to the next time I can go.

5 Stars- Perfect Vacation Home

This condo was truly the perfect place for our Big Island vacation. It was just as pictured- both furnishings and decor. Also it was clean, well-equipped and in a great location. The Lanai with Viking grill were our favorite spot in the evening. The beds were comfortable and the neighborhood was quiet. It is close to groceries and shopping. Beach club was really nice- snorkeling there was amazing! Check in, check out process was simple and easy. Kona Coast Vacations folks were nice to work with. They offered to help us line-up activities, but we just did our own thing. I can't think of a single complaint- it was perfect!

Fantastic Fairway Townhome-Vacation in Paradise

This was such a great experience finding on VRBO, although we rented directly thru Kona Coast Vacations. They were very prompt through the whole process, emailing us every step of the way to make sure we were well prepared. The concierge (David) was great at booking tours, sending all the info to favorite beaches and restaurants.
The townhouse was easy to find, very clean and decorated beautifully. The lanai is privately situated and great views from there, even better from the master suite! Kitchen is nicely set up, we had lots of food from Costco and plenty of room for everything! The location is perfect, short walk to the pool/Jacuzzi/gym. The beach gear - boogie boards, snorkel gear for 4, 2 cruiser bikes, ice chests were all in the garage for us to use. The private Beach Club is a must, the beach and restaurant is fantastic! We strongly suggest visiting Tommy Bahama's for happy hour and the coconut shrimp and coconut cloud martini are to die for! We will definitely book again!! Mahalo

Everything we hoped it would be!

Our rental was everything we hoped it would be! So spacious & stocked with everything you could possibly need for a house. The kitchen had everything one would need to cook anything. The grill on the patio was so nice to have as well. The master bedroom and bath on the 2nd floor was perfect. TVs w/ DVD players in every room. It was absolutely perfect for our family of 4. Also, one of the reasons we chose this rental was to have access to the private Mauna Lani beach club/beach access. It is the perfect snorkel spot...possibly the best on the island. We hope to go back as many times as we possibly can and we will definitely plan on staying here again.
