Our family of 10 recently stayed at the Kona Coast for a week, and it was an unforgettable experience. The property is located in a peaceful neighborhood, offering a serene and relaxing atmosphere with breathtaking ocean views. The landscaping was beautifully maintained, adding to the overall tranquil setting. The house itself was spacious and comfortable, making it the perfect accommodation for our large family. Each room was well-appointed, and there was plenty of space for everyone to spread out and enjoy their time together. Whether we were relaxing by the pool, enjoying meals on the patio, or just unwinding in the comfortable living areas, we all felt right at home. Beautiful house and it was perfect for 3 couples and 4 grandchildren! It was very well stocked with kitchen supplies and paper (toilet paper, paper towels, Kleenex)and detergents! The Becky’s were friendly along with two Huge spiders( that we killed) and sadly cockroaches. Mostly the big ones stayed outside! We did have quite a few smaller bugs in kitchen but it is Hawaii!! If we win the lottery, we probably would book it again! Again, we loved the spaciousness, separation of suites, and of course the pool! Mahalo

Fantastic spot for a large family vacation! Slept 9 of us comfortably and was well equipped. Lots of space for activities and a great pool. Close to lots of things and very quiet! The house had lots of pool toys in the outdoor shed and lots of stuff to use at the beach (toys, snorkels, boogie boards, flippers, umbrella, cooler). Just over a mile walk down to Ali'i drive through the neighborhood. We would definitely stay here again!

Our three generation family (ages14-78) of 9 enjoyed all aspects of this property. There were enough bedrooms, bathrooms, living areas inside and out for everyone. The kitchen is very well equipped for all levels of cooking. The washer/dryer were easy to use. We loved the pool, views, whale watching to the right of the lanai, all the sounds of nature and the little green lizards hiding in the plants in the yard by the driveway. Highly recommend Green Flash for takeout coffee/breakfast. Go early but it’s worth it. Great beer and swag at Kona Brewing. Good sports venue is Oceans. Gecko Girls for Hawaiian Ice. Humphys has great fresh fish sandwiches. Definitely recommend: Jacks diving for snorkeling with Mantas and scuba, sea horse farm you get to hold seahorses, Mauna Kea Summit Adventures for sunset/star gazing. Safeway is about ten minutes from the house as well as many restaurants and shops. We snorkeled by walking into water at Kahalu’u Beach Park. Terrific for first timers. Tons of fish, some turtles, lifeguard. We would definitely go back. I love the Kona Coast and this is a terrific place 🌴🌊🌺

This is our second stay at this location. We had such a great experience the first time we decided to roll the dice again for the second time. The most amazing part of it all was the service. We had an issue with a few things in the house. For example the AC did not work in the en suite when we arrived. I called KCV expecting to hear "we will have someone out in a few days". They had someone out Friday evening at 6 PM to fix it. All the bumps that we thought would be big ones, they made little ones with their superior customer service. When we had questions about what to do and where to go David from the concierge service had amazing answers very quickly. He found us a private masseuse that came to the house. She was amazing BTW. Kitchen was amazing. Rooms were private enough to be alone, but the house was large enough that the 9 of us didn't feel on top of each other. Close enough to everything downtown restaurants and activities. Sunsets were epic. Supplying a few that I took with my phone. Overall I will come back again to the same location. Hard to get great customer service and an amazing location. Great job KCV. Keep it up. Down side that does not reflect KCV. Downtown food is synopsised to fish and chips, pizza, tacos and burgers. Not to much effort or flair. We tried to recycle on our own and it was such a hassle we gave up. They only recycle glasses and plastic that have a $.05 stamp on it. The rest goes to land fill.

The host (Kona Coast Vacations) communicated quickly and efficiently with any questions that popped up not just during our stay, but also leading up to our stay. The listing was everything and MORE! Incredibly clean and organized property. The view of the ocean was breathtaking. The landscaping was gorgeous, we were pleasantly surprised by the entry waterfall and the orange trees were perfectly ripe for breakfast oranges! The location was perfect, it felt private and secluded but was a quick 10-15 minutes from grocery stores, the fun downtown and only 20min from the airport. We had an AMAZING time. If we find ourselves in Kona again we would definitely stay again!

It was really the best location we have ever stayed at. It had everything we expected and more. The privacy of the home with neighbors distant away made it extremely quiet and made it feel truly relaxing vacation. The view was amazing and was close to airport, downtown and near dock where we went snorkeling. On top of the amazing stay, we forgot my daughters dress that she took pictures for 15th birthday and Asi from Kona Coast Vacations reached out to me and she was able to ship it to me which literally put cherry on top of everything.. We will definitely be coming back!! Thank you

The house as described! The pictures are accurate and the view could not be more breathtaking! Everyone enjoyed the house and the pool was amazing. The lanai to the pool deck is a step down and not easily seen. For safety a stripe or designation should be added.

We had a wonderful stay at the Hale Akoa house. It was perfect for our 9 member family vacation. Great location to downtown, beds comfortable and the pool was a big hit. Kona Coast made the check in process seamless and a big thanks to KC for working out a 5PM late check out at a reasonable price. We had late flights home so it was nice to not to pack up and move to a hotel. Highly recommend house and we will use Kona Coast again if we come back to area.

The home was actually larger than it looked in the pictures and it accommodated our party of 9 adults very well. The lanai got lots of use and the views were lovely. Close enough to downtown Kona for access to shopping, but located inside a gated, quiet community. The 4:00pm check-in time was a little inconvenient as we arrived early afternoon and were tired from travel, a little flexibility with the check-in time would have been nice. The kitchen was well supplied with appliances, pots/pans, dishes, etc. We enjoyed a lovely vacation in this pretty home.

This was an awesome property!! We have stayed in many VRBO's before and this home was everything like the pictures and the reviews. We were a group of 10 ranging in age from 14-69. There was plenty of space for everyone to do what they wanted. The views were amazing! The sunsets never get old in Hawaii and this was one of the best places to enjoy them. We had one small issue with the garburator, however it was resolved very quickly! We loved the outdoor shower and all of the beautiful outdoor furniture. We spent many hours around the pool and could not have had a better time!

The outside deck area around the pool and with a view of the beautiful blue ocean is well-equipped with a bar and seating--a great place to read a book or play games with the family. The master suite was very spacious and felt spa-like. They had everything you could need for a Big Island vacation--multiple beach chairs, snorkel equipment, and umbrellas. The property manager responded promptly to our one request. We loved our stay--thank you!

In general very good. Some room for improvement: Lots of little ants in the bathroom sinks. No capability to take care of recycling, I think we were just supposed to throw it in the trash. Last minute price increase due to local tax should have been eaten by VRBO, not the customer who had already agreed on the price. Had to run through some hoops to provide all the flight times for all the guests as well as provide vaccination proof for all guests. This seems a little bogus since I just came from a larger VRBO house on the island where none of this extra information was required. To be fair we had a good time in spite of all these issues. I am not sure I would go here again or not.......... I would look long and hard at the competition.

Our Family of 7 spent a week at Hale Akoa. The setting is spectacular, beautiful and private. The huge living area provided an abundance of seating options and opened onto the covered lanai that stretches the entire length if the house. The house is exactly as shown in the pictures, and more. The pool was great and water temperature was always optimal. Grounds and plantings are stunning. We already miss waking up to the views every morning. Optimal views of sunsets and ocean views. The house was very well appointed, especially the kitchen which had everything one could possibly need for cooking and entertaining. Property is convenient to Kona and nearby areas without the traffic noise and bustle. We hope to return and would definitely rent this property again!

This is an amazing property that exceeds expectations. The photos of this exceptional property tell only part of the story. Yes, it is as amazing a five bedroom 4+ bathroom property as is pictured. But, it is also better stocked than any AirB&B/VRBO than I have ever stayed at. The kitchen has everything you need. The property is stunning and very well located. Pool toys, snorkeling gear, beach towels, chairs, umbrellas, and a picnic cooler are all provided. The washer and dryer was much appreciated by our family of 10. Their was abundant hot water. When we had questions about the air-conditioning (there are sensors on a couple of the doors to shut the system off when the doors are open) the management company was terrifically responsive. I HIGHLY recommend this extraordinary property. Definitely a 5 star experience. Thank you!

I hate saying it because I?d rather it be available when I want to go again but that would not be fair to the owner or you as a renter. I recommend you rent this place with no reservations at all!! Home was great. Lots of space, great pool, nice kitchen, nice beds and baths. Had issues with pool light, outdoor blind, and kitchen equipment but the property manager was incredibly responsive and turned some annoyances into quick fixes. Would definitely recommend.

We loved our stay in Kona! This house was perfect for a group of friends. The Kitchen was well stocked for cooking, it has many great common area hangout spots, and it's centrally located. It's in a nice quiet neighborhood community, and there are many awesome restaurants, beaches, and coffee farms nearby. It's also a <20 minute drive to the airport and the main harbor for boat tours. Kona Coast vacations was extremely responsive and easy to deal with. I would definitely stay here again, and recommend the house to other groups!

This place did not disappoint in any way. It was the perfect accommodation for our family of six adults and four young children! The home was truly spacious and very well appointed. The grounds and exterior living area offered ample space for dining and lounging by the pool. In addition, although it was unnecessary for us to contact them during our 10 day stay, Kona Coast Vacations property managers were responsive from start to finish in planning for our vacation. They checked in with us several times to be sure all was well during our stay. This property exceeded our expectations and is a fantastic venue for a large group gathering.

Hale Akoa wasbsolutely AMAZING a!!!! We stayed here for my wedding with some of the wedding party and it exceeded all expectations. Everyone was in awe! The pool was heated, every room of the house was spacious and clean, the kitchen was fabulous, there were a few pool toys and some snorkeling gear to use, it was less than 10min drive from pretty much everything and only 15-20min from Costco and the airport. Just a gorgeous place!! Some tips... -Pool temp gage is on the side of the house (didn't realize til the second to last day...woops!) -Bug spray is definitely needed -A few pool toys were available, but definitely recommend bringing a few of your own -Jets in the big master tub didn't seem to work, so would check that first off and call maintenance if they're still not working -Uber is super cheap to get into town -Every room has a door to the patio and an ocean view except the room with the double beds -Couch is huge and could sleep a couple people if someone decides they don't want to share a bed :) -Keep an eye on the ocean in the morning for some whale watching

A fantastic house with amazing sunsets over the ocean from the patio. Waking up to the view over the ocean from the spacious bedrooms. Well equipped kitchen which was important as catering for 10 for two weeks around the World Ironman Championships was made easy. (A whisk and two mid sized pans would have been useful.) Outside seating areas provide space for chilling, reading and sunbathing around the lovely pool. Short 10 minutes drive to Kona for shopping and the Championships and easy access to the south and the volcano national parks.

We stayed here with our 2 kids, ages 13 and 11, along with both sets of grandparents for a week's vacation. This house couldn't have worked better for this! The house is spacious and everyone had their own space. The separate "mother in law suite" was a great asset and retreat. The outside seating areas were set up well. There were plenty of places to sit and hang out but also get away from each other if we wanted. The kitchen was adequately supplied and was set up well. The grill is ok and fairly standard for a vacation rental. The pool was an adequate size and was maintained well. The pool was the highlight of our son's trip! Our biggest surprise was the neighborhood. This house is in a gated community. The neighborhood was quiet, very beautiful, nicely manicured, and very well maintained. The views from the house are spectacular and the location is great! We would definitely stay here again if we returned to the Big Island.

The property was clean and well maintained. The pictures posted of the property do not do it justice! The kitchen was well equipped with all of the small appliances needed and most amenities needed to begin our trip. The Lani was perfect for our meals together and the view was beautiful! For our beach outings, there were beach chairs, umbrellas and sand toys for the kids in the garage. The location was centrally located for restaurants and grocery shopping. We even needed to make a trip to an Urgent Treatment center for our grandson which was less than 5 minutes from the home. David, the concierge was absolutely wonderful and very helpful with arranging a couple of our excursions and our Luau. He also helped with advice and answered any of our questions. The property management, Kona Coast Vacations, were helpful and easy to work with as well. We would absolutely stay at this location again and highly recommend this property to anyone who is planning a vacation to Hawaii.

We went with 8 to celebrate 4 50th birthdays. The house was more beautiful then the pictures showed. Enough space to celebrate together and be alone if you wanted. The kitchen was amazing. More silverware, plates and cooking gear than we needed. The small issues that we had were remedied that day. The staff was very professional and did an impeccable job. It took us one day to realize that we wanted to watch every sunset from the lanai. So close to restaurants, grocery stores and downtown Kona. I can’t state how much we enjoyed the house and it’s location. I wouldn’t do the review any justice if I did not mention David from the concierge service. He guided us to the green and black sand beaches. And told us where to stop on the way for the best pastries we ever had. Whale watching, manta snorkeling, swimming with dolphins, helicopter rides, and set up a private dinner with a chef Cindy, a ukulele player and hula dancer. He answered every phone call and it is obvious he loves his job. Thank you to the home owners, Kona Coast vacations and David. Can’t wait for my wife to turn 50 so we can come back.

This was a large, gorgeous house that was perfect for our family (6 adults 5 kids). There was enough room for everyone and the pool, just off of the living room was used all day. The house is in walking distance (approx 1 mile) to Ali'i Drive and it was a short drive to restaurants, downtown Kona, grocery stores and beaches. Having a concierge was nice - we called David quite a bit. We also had a few issues with the house that were taken care of promptly which was nice.

We have regularly stayed at VRBOs for several years now. With a family of 11 members and still growing, it has been a great alternative to hotels! I must say, we have never had a bad experience with any of them but this house was absolutely spectacular! The layout gives everyone plenty of room to be by themselves or together. Our grandchildren spent hours in the pool! The outside veranda area was huge with plenty of seating - we could all sit around the glass table shown in the opening picture! A couple of items that also stand out were the convenience of the large laundry room (we had towels washing daily) and the generous kitchen amenities. There was an abundance of silverware, glassware, and cooking utensils! We like to make family meals together and there wasn't a thing missing that we needed! The beautiful view and quick drive into Kona contributed to the experience. We have been to the big island before and will probably come again - we would definitely come back to this house!

It had all the amenities one could need, including beach chairs and towels for the lovely beaches close by. One would actually have no need to leave the property other than reloading for food. There was plenty of room for all age groups with many areas to hangout in. Large home yet very comfortable homey feel Hawaiian style. Loved it. This house is simply amazing. Very comfortable with an incredible ocean view. Only a short drive to town with lots of restaurants, bars and shops. We were travelling with 6 adults and 4 teenagers. Pool was a bit chilly on cloudy days, but otherwise nice. The attached ohana suite was great for my inlaws to be able to have some privacy away from the rest of the family. We will definitely be back to enjoy this home again.

The location and view are outstanding! Perfect view of sunset each night. Great communication the entire time. Upon arrival, the wifi didn't work and they had it fixed right away. The host recommended Cindy (Smart Chef Hawaii) to prepare meals for us and she was amazing! Definitely worth it if you're interested in private meals at the home. You could tell that the owners really cared about the house, it was stylishly decorated and perfectly cared for. Lots of aloha in the details. The house had lots of space for everyone with big rooms and we loved how the living room opened up completely onto the lanai. The house was also perfectly managed, it was very clean and it had anything and everything we could want or need. We enjoyed cooking big meals for the group in the huge kitchen that had everything a cook would need. Truly, there was nothing that was missing. We had an absolutely wonderful time in this house during our stay in Hawaii. We've stayed in many vacation rentals, both in Hawaii and elsewhere in the world, but we can happily say that this was one of our best stays. The house is great in many ways - just a few minutes drive to the center of Kailua-Kona, panoramic and unobstructed view of the ocean, private space for everyone staying in the house, luxury finishes and amenities. We can certainly say that we have our favorite house to call home on the Big Island! We bbq'd quite a lot so we wanted an extra day of trash pick-up, which was arranged quickly for us. We fell in love with the house with its beautiful landscaping and panoramic view. The entire family thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the house. The kids especially had a great time. They didn’t want to leave the house to go to out to explore the island, since they were having so much fun at the pool and playing in the house. Each day started with the kids picking fresh oranges from the fruit trees and ended with a beautiful sunset dinner. For the adults, the house had great privacy and several outdoor sitting and eating areas. We cooked and barbecued a lot and the fully equipped kitchen had everything we needed. Also the 5 min drive to get to Kona restaurants, farmers market, made our stay very convenient. Date of Stay: Aug 2017
