We had a great 3 week stay at #227 Hale O Naia in the Alii Villas complex. We did not want to leave. The condo is situated on the ocean side of the complex where we were treated to the soothing breezes and sounds of the ocean. The viewing pleasures from the lanai were plentiful whether it be the sunsets, spinner dolphins, passing boats, etc. The condo is located close to town, an easy walk to pick up fresh fruit from the market or splurge on a morning Kona coffee at one of the many vendors. It is also far enough away that you do not get any of the noise that comes from the bars and late night restaurants that you may wish to visit. The condo had plenty of room for 2 couples and had a large lanai which was greatly appreciated. We used the pool and BBQ facilites most days/nights and it was a great way to meet some of the owners and other renters who had great intel on potential places to go/do or see. Each night there was a general gathering at the benches along the ocean front to watch the sunset and chit chat. The condo complex has a quiet time from 10.00pm to 8.00am which includes your lanai area and any noise/music/TV from within condo. If you are a night party person, do not come to this complex (check the contract! and follow the directions of the signage provided). The people (owners and renters) we met were great and Adjacent to the complex, on the town side, is the Green Flash coffee vendor that opens a 7.00am. A little slow but very nice people and good assortment of coffee drinks and baked goods. If you want sandy beaches to go to you generally need to go north of Kailua-Kona to a string of beaches between Waikoloa beach Resort and Hapuna Beach Park - great for swimming and boogie boarding. If you want to go snorkelling I would recommend south of Kona to "Step 2" or Kealakekua bay. Step 2 was the best as it is not as sandy and waters were clear and the coral and sea life were plentiful. Be aware though as you are going in directly off the lava (not generally for the less ambulatory). Kealakekua (Captain Cook monument) bay is easily accessible via snorkelling or paddling excursions ($$$) or you can hike down with snorkel gear approximately 2-2.5 km. WARNING -if you hike down you have to hike back up - wear appropriate shoes - i do not recommend flip flops. The trail is decent but much of it is open (so in the sun) and the climb back up you need to be in decent shape and carry lots of water. We are over 60, so we took it slow, had lots of breaks where a little shade was provided. You definitely earn a beverage of your choice by the time you get back to the top. If you are interested in hiking we went to the Volcanoes National Park - Kileaua / Mona Loa and to Mauna Kea. Their are short easy hikes and longer more physical ones depending on your pleasures. From Kona it is about a 2 and a half hour drive - a good day trip. Hilo offers probably the best farmers market although you can get fresh fruit from many around Kona or other parts of the island. Overall we had a great time and have brought home great memories of our time on the Big Island. We look forward to going back and exploring more of the island. I would recommend working with KCV and Unit 227 at Alii Villas for up to four people. Mahalo and Aloha

Kona Coast Vacations were very attentive and easy to work with. Booked directly through their site and was communicated with well throughout our stay but not intrusively. Property is one we've stayed at before (through AirBnB for more) and so knew what to expect. Well maintained if slightly older condo with great amenities--lanai, pool, ocean views.

This is our second consecutive year staying at the same Kona Coast property. We were happy with the property and the service we received both times and plan on renting with them on our next visit to the island. The property we stay at is well maintained, and the staff is available to assist with any small issues that may arise. Our only regret is that we did not utilize the services of David, the concierge, on our first stay. We did work with him in our recent visit and couldn’t be happier. He gave us excellent advice, an honest straightforward opinion on a couple of activities we were considering and took care of booking the ones we selected. All with no hassle on our end. We really appreciate the efforts of the entire team at Kona Coast!

We stayed three nights February 2024 at the Kona Coast condo at Alii Villas. It has a perfectly wonderful balcony where you can see and hear the ocean! Every morning we enjoyed our breakfast while we watched for whales, (we saw a few spoutings) and in the evenings we enjoyed relaxing and listening to the ocean, and watched the sunset when we were there. Beds were very comfortable and the condo was very clean. The kitchen was well equipped for us to cook. It was quiet - except for one morning when the landscapers came. There was lots of snorkeling equipment which we used. There were coolers for us to take to the beach too! All in all, it was a home away from home. The location was great - short distance from the bustling town of Kailua-Kona, great beaches and the airport. The communication was good with the Kona Coast staff. Easy entrance.

The condo was great. We loved the large comfortable lanai that had many chairs and spent every morning there seeing many whales. I was concerned the condo didn’t have air conditioning but it was not an issue at all since the ocean breeze and fans kept us very comfortable. The condo was clean and had nice carpet. It was well stocked with everything we needed for a two week stay including coolers, beach towels. Umbrellas, beach chairs and a washer and dryer. Also the kitchen was well stocked with a few staples and plenty of cookwares. Enjoyed our stay, we would stay there again and would recommend this condo.

Staying at Kona Coast Apt 227 ended up being a very pleasant experience. The apt has everything an out of town visitor seeking to enjoy Hawaii would expect to have (towels, umbrellas, utensils, beach toys, floats, basic household paper towels, aluminum foil, saran wraps, laundry, dishwasher and even a smart cooker). The communication before arrival, during the say and prior to departure was very good ; the representatives were very responsive - the view of the sunsets from the lanai was great. Compared to another firm competing with VRBO, this was a very pleasant experience overall. Definitely recommend it.

Fantastic Ocean view condo. Went to sleep with the relaxing sounds of the ocean waves. Saw dolphins from the lanai. Ate dinner every night on the lanai watching the sunset. Great for 2 people. Could sleep 3-4 but would be a little crowded. Well furnished. Mahalo, we will be back!

This condo met all our needs. Had a beautiful pool, parking and a place to barbecue. As well as gorgeous flowers and landscaping. We had an ocean view which was wonderful as we saw whales and dolphins almost daily. All equipment and amenities were working. We had a small issue and it was taken care of promptly. Short walking distance to town which we loved.

Well maintained

We stayed at this property for 4 days and we had a blast. The local manager was responsive and very attentive to a couple of questions we had during our stay. The condo was in good condition, it is a little older but it's well maintained and equipped with all the goodies for a day at the beach. The community pool was not crowded, and the kids enjoyed it. The conveniently placed gas grills were also very useful for a quick BBQ during the early evening. The view of the water from the lanai was spectacular during sunset!! The only issue was the extra charge for “other services” by VRBO, this was never disclosed in any of the itemized pricing. I would give the property 5 stars and VRBO 1 star for sneaking in the unlisted fee. Try and book it directly through their management company or some other website.

North side lani was nice and comfortable all day long. Enjoyed the quiet pool with mostly seniors. We looked over the complex next door pool area. At times that area got pretty noisy. Third time at this complex and would go back.

Our stay at Alii Villas 227 Hale O Naia was AWESOME! Before this, we've never stayed more than 2 weeks in Kona, but now we're duly impressed and plan to book with you again in the future! After we booked our stay, I informed my daughter & husband to also book their stay with you, and they did. We all enjoyed the view, the amenities in the condo, the others staying in the complex, and the pool, bbq, and grounds. Just a beautiful, clean place to enjoy the Island

We spent two weeks at Alii Villas on the Kona Coast of Hawaii. The room had an ocean view. The condo was well stocked with cooking condiments, so cooking was easy and did not require the purchase of salt, sugar, etc. There was plenty of beach equipment including coolers, chairs, umbrellas and boogie boards. We were close enough to town for a 30 minute walk. The pool was so nice with bbq equipment nearby.

This should be called dolphin cove . On some days the dolphins are jumping right outside in the ocean. The bedrooms and bathrooms are sparkling clean and nice but the place is a bit old and the carpets not so nice. Kitchen very old and some utilities just very old, poor quality. Still, good value

This place is very good. The view is amazing, the beds are very comfortable, the pool area is nice and clean. You can walk to restaurants, but might need a car. The place is carpeted, we would have preferred stone floor. The kitchen is a bit outdated. The washing machine is excellent :-) The check-in process was very easy and well communicated.

Lovely condo, clean, in such a good location. Everything was close to town and all the restaurants were 5 minutes away! The only complaint really is the mattress in the guest room. We went with another couple and we traded for the master ocean front master bedroom halfway through the trip to be fair and we both agreed that the mattress in the guest room was terrible. We would wake up in pain. Other than that, I'd stay here again!

“We enjoyed our stay at Kona Coast's place. Location-wise, it was great. It was a short drive to the Kona town where there are restaurants and touristy shopping. It was about a 15 minute drive from the airport and other attractions like the beaches, national park and octopus farm. We frequented the Safeway and Walmart throughout our stay for our groceries. The unit was relatively clean except for the small pest problem in the master bathroom and bedroom. The kitchen came fully stocked for home-cooked meals. The unit itself was clean and had everything we needed during our stay. They even provided beach chairs and a small cooler for us to use during our beach outings which was nice to have since we couldn't fly with our own. The view from the lanai was probably the best part. It was so amazing waking up and falling asleep to the waves crashing and eating breakfast and dinner with sunrises and sunsets. The only issue for us was that with our one year old, trying to get him to nap and sleep for the night was difficult with the open windows and outside noise. There was no way to block out all the noise or sun. So just a note for parents traveling with small babies

The condo is true to the pictures shown. The common areas are clean and very accessible. The pool is quiet and great to relax in. The condo's balcony is amazing, perfect place to spend time with the family. Be sure to keep an eye out for dolphins! We saw them daily. Great touch to have the binoculars in the condo as well as beach chairs, towels and umbrellas to use on our day trips. The rooms are spacious and overall clean. I was slightly disappointed to have found ants in the bathroom and kitchen area and the balcony net door needs some tlc. I would recommend this place if you have a couple of friends or family as it is a great space to spend time together. As far as location it is great, not far from town and easy to find.

This was our first visit to the big island. The place was Centrally located, clean and stocked including beach chairs, umbrella, beach towels and coolers. nice ocean view and breezes. Will consider staying on future visits. We can’t want to see more!

My family and I stayed here in August 2018. The view from the balcony is amazing and we spent plenty of time on the balcony watching all the boats and relaxing. The place is equip with everything you need to cook with and was clean , neat and tidy. We were scheduled to depart when Hurricane Lane was approaching the island and were unsure if we'd be able to leave. When we called the 24/7 concierge they were very helpful and advised us that we could stay longer if it wasn't safe to leave. The only negative thing I can say is the place doesn't have air conditioning but we knew that when we booked and it wasn't much of a problem with the windows open and fans on. Overall our stay was very pleasant.

This place is awesome!! Everything you need and more for a perfect vacation. It is nice and roomy with 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms...great kitchen!!! And the views on the lanai were fabulous. It is a quick drive to town and the beaches-perfect. I was very happy here and will definitely be back to this lovely home on the ocean. What a great experience with Airbnb!!

Our place in Alii Villas was amazing--older, but clean, with a fantastic view, no traffic noise (we were just up from the water), great fairly large and little-used pool. Mornings and evenings on the lanai overlooking the water was perfect--dolphins each morning, lots of boating traffic (so far off, no sound), sunrises and sunsets. 1.5 miles from Kailua Village and only .5 miles from a great little beach to the north, to which we walked each morning.

We enjoyed every minute of our stay at Ali'i Villas.

This is a truly beautiful place. We enjoyed every minute of our stay at Ali'i Villas. The directions were perfect. We had no trouble finding it. The view was fantastic from the lanai. We loved eating our breakfasts there and watching the sunset. There were guidebooks provided, Hawaiian music CDs along with everything we needed to have a fantastic time. It is about a mile from Kona for those who like to walk. We did it several times.

The condominium is very tastefully furnished, has a very good view of the ocean, and is conveniently located. The entire condominium was very clean and well maintained. The barbeque was convenient for cooking seafood dinners, and other Alii Villa residents we saw were friendly. We would like to return and stay for a longer period next time. We enjoyed our stay in Alii Villas, and the unit was as described. It's managed by a third party, Kona Coast Vacations, so they communicate directly with you. Pros: -Good location, the complex is about a 10 minute drive from downtown (although downtown Kona itself is walkable, it didn't seem like you could walk to downtown from surrounding areas. Alii Dr takes you right into downtown, but doesn't have a sidewalk or streetlights, so I don't recommend walking there) -Nice pool. Wasn't crowded, was pretty and had nice landscaping -Right on the coast. You can walk out onto the lava rocks from the property. -Spacious, clean, nicely furnished. Cons: -No A/C -Washing machine barely worked -bed in master bedroom was not very comfortable. Date of Stay: 11/14/17 to 11/19/17

The condo was about 1 mile from downtown Kona, which was perfect for us; a long walk or short drive to nearby restaurants and shops. The Alii Villas were clean and quiet enough that we could hear the ocean from our room at all times. Sitting at the Lanai was delightful.

This was a great rental. Clean, spacious condo. Kitchen supplies were well stocked. Beautiful view off the lanai. Coded entry, so no worries about keeping up with keys. Kyle, who seems to have multiple jobs, including groundskeeper, and contact person, was very helpful and pleasant. Be aware there is one parking space per unit. Also, request your wifi access code in advance, so there is no issue if you arrive after hours. I would definitely recommend this condo.

We found the condo to be even better than described. It is stocked with anything and everything you may need. The view is even better than the pictures. The rental manager responded very quickly to a need, and the on-site property manager was also very friendly and helpful. If we return to the Big Island, we will inquire about staying here again.

.We have booked various units in Kona before and this was, by far, the best experience we have had. Right from the booking process to our actual stay, we were very pleased with our stay at this beautiful location. The unit itself was conveniently located on Alii Drive, a short walk to the restaurants and stores. We are scuba divers as well and appreciated the proximity to the dive shops and the great shore diving at the Old Airport. Our condo was clean, bright, well provisioned, and had a huge lanai overlooking the ocean. Yes, it is just as spectacular as the pictures look.

It was our first time here at Hilo/ Kona. And I must say staying at the Villa made it more wonderful for us. Aaaahhh! The view from the room, the balcony or lanai area. I cook breakfast everyday and I would set up out at the balcony. The smell of the ocean, the view so relaxing. The painting at the wall, there was a gecko which it did not bother us, I named him Andrew and he has a brother, I name him Steve. We had everything so accessible to make our vacation away from home like home. We had our own room and bathroom and so with the girls. Thank you. For sure will recommend your villas. Mahalo, Until our next visit.

We stayed at this property for 11 nights and had a wonderful time. It was clean, comfortable, quiet and had pretty much everything you could need including- just in case items- like extra towels and a first aid kit. We felt right at home from the first night. It was so nice to come back from exploring the island, cool off in the pool, and then spend the night relaxing in a comfortable place. The location is a very short drive to the heart of Kona and we had no problem getting to restaurants and attractions from the condo. It might even be walk-able for people more heat tolerant than myself. There is also a cafe a block or so down the road that serves breakfast, lunch, and coffee. The ocean view from the lanai is gorgeous. Any questions or concerns we had were addressed immediately by the friendly staff at Kona Coast Vacations. We really enjoyed our stay and plan to book with Kona Coast if we are ever back in the area.
