Wonderful Stay

Our stay in Hali'I Kai 15 F was wonderful. The complex is very pretty and well maintained. The pool is beautiful, and has one of the prettiest settings with the views of the ocean. 15F is also the nicest condo we have ever visited. It is spacious, we loved the 2 lanais and the kitchen was well stocked. The views of the ocean are unparalleled. We always stay in condos when we travel to Hawaii. Things that we appreciated and we don't see in other condos were items such as salt and pepper, olive oil, balsamic vinegar, coffee filters, refills for shampoo and conditioner, plenty of toilet paper and paper towels. These touches may seem small, but made our stay that much better. We tend to cook a lot when we are on vacation and the kitchen had every utensil, pan and bowl that we needed. The beach toys, chairs and bags were also a great addition when we headed to the beach. Finally, your email with the map and how to enter the condo was detailed and helpful, and the business is easy to contact by phone or email. I really appreciated the ease with which I could contact someone when I realized I left a jacket behind and someone got right back to me and it's now on its way home. We didn't do a lot other than relax, but we did go to the luau at the Hilton and enjoyed it a lot. We would recommend that for other guests. I would not recommend walking the pumice/lava trail (behind the condo) to the 49 Black Sand Beach. We did and ruined some sandals and the beach is not the best for swimming and snorkeling due to all of the sea urchins so close. But we did enjoy Anaeho'omalu beach and went there twice. Finally, the gym! We used it and for the small size, it had a variety of equipment and THE BEST views! I would advertise that there are 2 Peloton bikes too! I was surprised to see them.

So the view is amazing. Location and neighborhood as well. The condo it self needs a little attention. Beds are very comfortable but not enough covers. Beds need comforters of some kind. Kitchen stovetop needs serviced. Rusty knives and skillets need replaced. Headboards are not attached to the bed frames. Sectional slides and comes apart into several pieces. Honestly some inexpensive upgrades would make the stay more comfortable.

Pictures of the view do not do justice! Truly spectacular from both balconies! Club pool and restaurant were fantastic. Great set up - plenty of sun and shade. Great food for lunch and dinner (dinner outside with view of ocean at sunset). Great location! Beach recommendations were spot on … we went to 3 beaches that were all different from each other and all great! We do not want to leave this escape to paradise!

The property was exactly as described. The ocean front location was so peaceful and provided excellent views of sunsets. There were adequate supplies to last us the week. The resort amenities we used were great. The restaurant and bar provided plentiful food and drinks (alcoholic drinks were not weak at all). Top notch restaurant, bar and service, not to mention convenient. VERY convenient location to two shopping centers, including grocery stores, coffee, gas, and restaurants. Would book here again without hesitation.

Fantastic View

The condo was as described, clean, and had a fantastic view. The rental company was helpful in most areas. The only problem we had was that there was a home improvement project going on in the condo beneath us which was very noisy (table saw cutting tile and granite) on the lanai for our entire 5 day stay including Saturday and Sunday. When I contacted the rental company they said they did not know it would be happening during our stay, but could not find out any info on how long the project would last as the neighborhood does not require notification of any construction work. We asked to be moved after the second day of the noise disturbance, but they said that wasn't possible. The rental company offered us a 5% discount for the noise disturbance. Unfortunately, the noise really hampered our ability to relax while on vacation.

The property was exactly as described in the listing and beyond what we expected and the ocean front view was beyond compare. The location was perfectly situated within easy driving distance of great beaches, restaurants and shopping. We are happy we chose the Waikola Beach area as our base and it was an easy drive to all our activities on the north side, Hilo and Kona. We highly recommend this property and Property Manager.

We have stayed at Halii Kai before but this was our first time in this particular condo. It was very clean, tastefully decorated and well appointed. The ocean view is spectacular. We enjoyed the gorgeous sunsets daily from both lanais. The rental management company was very communicative and easy to work with. David, the concierge, provided helpful information regarding dining and activities. We highly recommend this unit and would definitely stay here again.

Great condo and ocean view! Fantastic restaurant associated with the condo complex, reasonably priced, excellent service, and wonderful ocean views. Enjoyed playing pickle ball. Great location to other superb beaches, snorkeling, and food market. Check-in time that we were emailed was different than the actual, so we ended up checking in the next day. Seems was a covid change that wasn't updated in the email. Only meant that we couldn't access the restaurant the first evening. The management was super helpful in resolving an air conditioner issue--turns out sliding doors need to be sealed closed and temperature not set below 72oF, otherwise the AC won't work. Also a minor toilet issue fixed immediately. Definitely would return.

Great place. Decor is a little dated. The kids room would be great for smaller kids. My tall teens were a bit big for the beds. Views from lanais were awesome. Really well stocked for trips to the beach with umbrellas, good beach towels, cooler etc. Pool and restaurant were nice but I'd like to see umbrellas at the loungers for shade. Overall it was a comfy place with everything we needed. Very responsive when we had a glitch with the ac. Definitely recommend.

Best Spot to Watch Whales

This condo might be the best spot on the coast to watch the whales. Any time you looked out, there were whales , sometimes very close. Spectacular. It would have been great if the condo could have provided binoculars. Other things we would have liked to have: serving /mixing bowls in the kitchen. Hooks to hang wet towels and bathing suits. Some place to wash sandy feet. The cook top didn't work very well- hardly hot enough to boil water. But these were minor negatives. It was a new place to stay.

Location is great it’s very quiet and close to the pool the restaurant and bar is very convenient and workout area overlooks the ocean Inside the condo the appliances are state of the art kitchen is fully stocked with everything you will need to cook meals for the family All 3 beds were very comfortable each room had a tv with cable and roku It’s a perfect rental for a family it’s big enough that everyone has enough privacy the living room and kitchen have ocean views downstairs The master Lani is big and comfortable we slept with the slider open with the screen closed to hear the ocean at night and the sunsets from the patio is fantastic You can walk easily over to the Hilton property takes about 10 minutes they have amazing lagoon dolphins 🐬 shopping etc Definitely recommend this unit you will not be disappointed

The place was great. Just what we were looking for in the way of location. It was just the two of us so the two extra bedrooms weren't used. Wonderful whale and dolphin watching, and sunset views. If we were ever to buy a place in Hawaii, this is the type we'd look for. The kitchen was very well appointed: cooking gear, plates, flatware, and glassware. The dishwasher is the drawer type, which was nice for two of us: we could load up one drawer and run it. Place mats were an unexpected bonus! Cloth napkins would be wonderful but maybe that's asking too much. Nicely decorated throughout. The pool area is very nice. Plus there is a small restaurant and bar exclusively for residents and guests. The food there was surprisingly good. A trail near the pool area leads to the primitive shoreline trail which takes you to the Hilton area to the south and the black sand beach and Mauna Lani to the north. We would definitely stay here again. This is our fifth consecutive year to vacation on the Big Island but the first in a condo. Seventeen nights at a resort then 12 nights here. There's no late checkout. Our flight off the island is late (10 pm) so we booked an extra night and stayed until 7-ish thus avoiding aimlessly wandering the island between checkout and the drive to the airport.

Our group of 3 couples + 1 baby LOVED this condo. The condo is situated so that you can see the ocean from the common living area + master bedroom. It's in a convenient location (20 - 30 min drive from Kona airport), has a grocery store nearby (Foodland), and a couple of beaches nearby. The pool with adjacent bar / restaurant was also convenient since you could watch the sunset there. Top notch appliances and fully stocked kitchen made it easy to cook meals. The DVD player was a bit old (so picture quality was not great), but we brought our AppleTV, so that worked out fine. I'd highly recommend this condo to others, and I'm definitely going to try to come back again! Date of Stay: 1/27/18 to 2/3/18

Condo looked just like the photos. Beautiful ocean view. Loved the balconies. Very clean. The pool area was amazing with unbelievable views of the sunset. The Kona Coast Vacations group was very helpful and available as we needed

The condo was amazing. We would have liked if there was a cooler available for our use and more towels so we didn't have to wash during the week. Otherwise it was great! Date of Stay: 7/22/17 to 7/29/17
