The Grounds are Gorgeous

This is our second stay at Hali’i Kai.Unit 16c needs some attention. The carpet in the master bedroom was filthy and stained. The grout in the shower and floor needs a deep clean. Both bathrooms have small wall clocks which are missing batteries. The bed is hard and the fitted sheet slides off each night. It has a crummy, very loud stacked washer/dryer with weird detergent sheets that never quite dissolve. There really isn’t an ocean view…you can just see a sliver of ocean peeking out over a hedge. Also, the patio overlooks the street so there is a lack of privacy. Positives: the kitchen has high end appliances including a Wolf cook top and oven, and a Sub Zero fridge. The unit came with plenty of supplies for our 11 nights, including TP, paper towels, toiletries. This unit is very close to the pool and restaurant. The management company responded quickly to all of my inquiries. Comments about Hal’i Kai. The second floor units are more desirable due to added privacy and better views. The buildings closest to the pool are preferable (but more expensive). Try for any building numbered 10 and above. The grounds are gorgeous and the bar and restaurant add a lot of convenience…they make a killer mai tai. The pool furniture, while comfortable, is showing a lot of wear, made worse by the mineral (zinc based) sunscreen requirement that the state of Hawaii has implemented. It’s for the health of the reefs (yeah!) but man that sunscreen is the worst!

Overall, the condo and complex were great. This was our second time staying in Halii Kai, so we knew what to expect. Location - We really loved the location with the slight ocean view from the patio. We would spend the morning drinking coffee and catching up on work. It is so close to the pool/bar/gym so super easy to walk with the littles. The big crash lawn was perfect to let the kids run around and play soccer. The entire complex is also super close to the shops so that’s convenient for a quick grocery or coffee run.Condo - the layout of the condo was super nice for our little fam. We had some struggles with the internet and the property manager took care of it

The condo was perfect for our stay. The layout was just what we needed and perfectly appointed. You really couldn't beat the location. The was a great view of the ocean and sunsets from the patio and it was just a short walk from the pool, gym and club house. It was just what we were looking for.

Thank you for a wonderful stay at Hali’i Kai 16c. The property is well appointed, comfortable, and functional for a family that enjoys cooking. Sunset dinner at Ocesn Club was nicely done as well. We enjoyed our visit and would return for future trips. Only difficulty was figuring out the remotes (not tech savvy). Mahalo!

This was an amazing place. Beautiful view as you walk in and the pool is right on the water. We could walk right out the back sliding doors to it. Without even getting into a car! We loved all the supplies from kitchen to beach equipment.

We absolutely love Hali'i Kai and 16c for our Big Island stays. The resort is always peaceful and serene, the condos are clean and always have a lot of nice touches that enhance our stay such as laundry, extra snorkel gear and beach towels. The pool food and drinks are fairly reasonable compared to other places in the area and the pool itself is always wonderful to catch a sunset at. We are already looking forward to our next visit!

We had a great stay! Very clean, comfy bed and air conditioning! Had all the amenities! View of ocean from lanai was a great place to start cocktail time! Started the day at 6:30am on the treadmill and Peloton in workout area overlooking the ocean while watching the whales playfully passing by. It’s a short walk to the pool and workout area. Recommend grabbing a couple lounge chairs along the ocean! You can actually do two things at once. Sunbathe and whale watch! Pool/Bar/Restaurant area is the perfect spot to watch the sun set! Oh, don’t forget to look up! The sky is littered with stars!

We loved the location. A majority of the time there we cooked and enjoyed the high end appliances. It was nice to have all the amenities nearby. Although we had to drive to beaches, we found some beaches that were not crowded. We would stay here again.

Hali'I Kai 16C and the Hali'I Kai Ocean Club was a dream. The property was beautiful and the accommodations were impeccable. Loved the pool with the grandson and I loved the early morning walks on the Ala Kahakai (Kings Trail) over to the Hilton to see the dolphins. Kathy with a “K” was a hot and a pleasure at the Ocean Club. 16C had everything we needed. Comfy beds and patio furniture. Grilled each night and it was a most memorable and relaxing stay on the Big Island. To top it off, our daughter's boyfriend proposed to our daughter at the property….it was a very memorable trip, and we and we cannot wait to return. Best trip ever!

What a great stay! The condo had beach towels and snorkel gear for us to use, a nice convenience. Kitchen has Viking and SubZero appliances. Can see the ocean from the patio, and a very short walk to the Ocean Club! Patio furniture wasn't that comfortable, could use an upgrade. Bathrooms nice, plenty of towels. A/C was a godsend, kept the temperature at a comfortable level. Keypad entry very convenient. Bedding was comfortable. Plenty of hot water. A bit of problem with roaches, the roach traps in the kitchen were needed, recommend to keep food well sealed or in the refrigerator.

Almost everything about this home is fabulous. Especially the location in the community. The two things that I would like to see addressed to confidently rate it a five star experience are replacing the ancient blender (we make a lot of smoothies) and upgrade the old wireless router. The wireless internet network is very unstable and weak which makes working from the home difficult. We can't wait to stay here again....

The property was safe and clean. The condo was extremely well appointed, clean, and well stocked. The rooms were great and the bathrooms were lovely. This property was perfect for a first timer in Hawaii. Communication with the property owners was great. received all of my access information to the property on this mobile app and by email. Place was clean, with A/C (a must have during the summer) and rather secluded because it was on the back side of of Halii Kai which is great. The outdoor patio is the center piece of 16C as it faces the ocean. It's not much but its great having a view and not break the bank. Solid A+

This was our second time staying at Hali'i Kai and we will be back for many more visits. The whole rental process with check in/out was quick and easy. The condo was beautiful and in a perfect location to enjoy looking at the ocean while drinking our morning coffee on the lanai. It was so quiet and peaceful even with other guests nearby. The condo provided everything we needed for meal prep and for a visit to the beach. The pool was as beautiful as we remembered and we took Advantage of that and the bar/restaurant almost everyday. All staff that we encountered were very welcoming and friendly. We look forward to our next trip there very soon!!!

We were very impressed with this property and condo. It was immaculate. They had everything we could have wanted for our Hawaiian vacation and more. The resort was beautiful! The ocean views, pool, and location were spectacular. We couldn't have asked for anything more. They had beach chairs, cooler, umbrella. They had beach towels. They had all kitchen appliances and equipment we needed. I loved the resort itself. We would definitely stay here again.

Perfect location. Close to pool, workout room, bar, and ocean. You can walk to shops but it does take a while. We ended up driving to other stores for groceries outside of Waikoloa. We had some trouble locating the parking space at night for the unit. There is no garage, just a carport which was fine. Had a little trouble with the screen door so we reported it on the day we were leaving. Unit is spacious and i liked the fact that the bedroom windows face the ocean. You can see the ocean from the lanai. Took a bit of learning to figure out the stove since its very new. Washer and dryer came in handy and there are plenty of beach towels, umbrellas etc. There is a lava path by the ocean but its a bit hard to walk on leisurely ....you gotta watch your step. A lot of stores shut down at the 2 shopping areas...but its like that everywhere. Not that this has anything to do with the unit, but we dined out about 4 times in 9 days and found food over priced and not very good...even at Lava Lava. 2 years ago this was not the case. Probably trying to recover form the pandemic and cutting costs.

Just spent a terrific week in the Waikoloa Resort on the Hali'i Kai property. The unit was spectacular and the complex is immaculate. The Ocean Club on property is great, with a terrific pool, ocean views, a restaurant and bar at your finger tips. The unit we rented had great breezes and we enjoyed watching the golfers teeing off on the 7th hole. As we had played the course during our stay, we commented to ourselves about shots we saw. This was our first experience with Kona Coast Vacations and they were a joy to work with. Communication was super and their activities concierge recommended great things to do on the island (night swimming with the Manta Rays was AMAZING!) and restaurant recommendations The only issue we had was the woman who mans the office at Hali'i Kai - she was less than helpful on anything - abrupt in how she answered questions and offered no help with asking about guest parking and when needing to have a FedEx pickup that could not be left at the unit. All in all, it was a terrific vacation for my husband and I, our adult daughter and son-in-law and two teenagers.

This was out first vacation since the start of COVID. Checkin was seamless and property manager was always responsive and suggested many vacation activities. The property worked well for our family of 5 adults - had everything we needed for the house - all appliances (high end on he major ones), house supplies for kitchen, laundry and cleaning. Only downside was one adult had to sleep on the pullout couch - and as with most pullouts it was not comfortable after a few nights (probably would be fine for children). Lanai was very useful with view of ocean and afternoon sun. This was our first time in the Waikoloa area - and would definitely stay here again. Thank you for sharing your property with us.

It was a very short trip to the pool and the walking path to the Hilton. The property was very clean and comfortable. The bedroom was dark and cool. There were a lot of board games and some beach supplies. I loved sitting on the lanai and looking out to the water.

The condo in Hali'i Kai was perfect! Great location and every amenity in the home that you could possibly want. Kona Coast provided all the information we needed well before we arrived and they were very easy to work with. We had a great time and felt very at home in our condo!

We really enjoyed this property. Its proximity to the pool was very convenient. Lots of nearby shopping and restaurants made it very easy to take care of our needs. Superb grounds landscaping views and access to other parts Of the western side of the big Island. We will definitely come back to this property. Thanks for the great place to stay! We had a wonderful time!

We think this unit is in the top tier in Hali Kai because of its location. The view of the ocean is perfect from the lanai. The unit is clean and well equipped (kitchen supplies, toiletries, etc to tide you over for first few days). The management company is responsive and communicative before the stay so that we are prepared. Even though the emails prior to the stay stated that bath towels are not provided, there were bath towels so no need to pack. I believe this unit will spoil us from now on. My only one minor feedback is that the knives are properly due for sharpening (just looking for room of improvement to suggest). This unit will spoil us from now on.

This unit is in a perfect location near the pool and restaurant. It has a very well-stocked kitchen - everything a home chef could want. The furniture is really nice yet comfortable. The decor is perfect. We enjoyed sitting on the back patio every day and evening. We would definitely stay in this unit again.

Everything about Hali'i Kai 16C was perfect. The unit was clean, well appointed and ideally located. Walk out through the lanai to the pool, restaurant and amazing sunsets. Take the 20 minute walk north ion the Fisherman's Trail to get to the black sand beach. I can't say enough good things about this property. I would definitely book this spot again.

The community is well maintained and the pool area / gym area is right across the street. The home is decorated well, all the appliances are top of the line, and everything we needed was there. Would stay here again!

This unit, 16C is neither on the golf course side, nor on the coconut grove side. However, it is close to the pool/restaurant, which is a real plus. Very clean and well-equipped.
