Hi Kona Vacations, We had an amazing time staying at the Hawaiian Honu House! Property was very clean upon arrival and the feeling of being at home was felt the minute we walked through the front door on our day of arrival. The Hawaiian Honu House just had the privacy you need and a relaxing vibe overall. The kitchen was very well equipped and we were able to make some gourmet meals and made use of the BBQ grill at least twice. We spent our days out in the sun visiting different local beaches, some snorkeling, shopping, touring nearby locations and parts of the island. We came back to the property for a mid afternoon swim at the pool daily before heading out to dinner on some nights; or, simply enjoying the sunsets while making homemade cocktails or enjoying the kitchen making homemade meals. We will definitely, book again soon! BTW, to add to the beach gear collection, we left a beach umbrella for other guests to enjoy.

The house is just as pictured. Very clean, well stocked with all the things one could need, and in a quiet neighborhood. Very close to amenities and activities. The outdoor space is a great place to chill and the pool was AMAZING!! The Hosts left us thoughtful local gifts to enjoy and the gardeners brought us the BEST fresh picked bananas! We enjoyed our stay!

Our stay at the Honu house was more than we expected. We had everything we needed for the week! All communications were timely and very informative. The space was perfect for a family of four to six. The location of the house is great with easy access to most places on the island as well as privacy that was available when enjoying time outdoors grilling or by the pool. The only thing we would have liked to be available more was for the water feature at the pool to stay on more consistently throughout the day. We will definitely look to stay here again as our first choice when returning to the Big Island. Thanks for such a streamlined relaxing vacation!

6 of us stayed in this house: my husband and I and our 2 adult children & their spouses (ages 28-30). The home offered plenty of space for us to gather together or have our own space. The outdoor patio and yard are awesome. The pool was great to have for days we didn't feel like going to the beach. The home was well equipped; a few more beach towels would be better... we did laundry, but 2/person would be best since they get wet quickly. We shared a rental car, but it's an easy location to walk a mile into Kona town, or grab an Uber. The Kona Concierge was a great help in getting us set up with activities and recommendations. They were quick to respond to questions. We would definitely stay there agian!

We loved our stay at this beautiful home in a quiet neighborhood. The grounds are quite spacious. The kitchen is well equipped. Well located close to town. Our only criticism is the barbecue was useable for our needs. Other than that we would definitely stay here again.

We had a nice stay at Hawaiian Honu House on the Big Island of Hawaii. Home was very clean and well equipped. Spacious grounds allowed for peace and quiet throughout the day/evenings. Conveniently located near the town of Kailua-Kona. Our only suggestion would be to replace the barbecue. We found it unusable for our needs.

We traveled to support an Ironman athlete who was competing at Kailua-Kona for the first time. We were able to see the swim from a distance from a neighboring hillside street. The end of the bike loop was at the gated neighborhood entrance, and we could walk down to Ali’i Drive to watch the runners go by twice. Perfect location for the event without staying in the downtown craziness. We enjoyed the quiet and peace of the surroundings. The property was beautiful and well-maintained, and we really enjoyed eating breakfast and watching the sunsets from the lanai. The pool is large, and there are lots of floaties and pool games and toys. The kitchen was well stocked with dishes, appliances, and some essential spices. There were also beach chairs, coolers, and some sun hats, goggles, etc. for guest use.

We had a wonderful time at the Hawaiian Honu House. The house is beautiful, well stocked with cookware, paper products, towels, pool toys and beach equipment. We spent afternoons in the pool after a day of sightseeing. It was so refreshing. Used the grill on the laini for cooking dinner. The views of the sunset every evening from the backyard were spectacular. The beds were comfortable and having individually controlled A/C in each bedroom was appreciated. I would recommend Hawaiian Honu House to anyone looking for a excellent location well equipped, three bedroom house on the Big Island. Mahalo to Kona Coast Vacations for a fantastic stay.

Our stay at the Hawaiian Honu House in Kona was over the top. The house was in a beautiful and conveniently located gated community. The house itself was very clean, well maintained and well equipped. I particularly appreciated all of the additional amenities that were not explicitly guaranteed such as pool toys, beach chairs/toys, coffee grinder, K-cup brewer, extra cleaning supplies/trash bags and an excellent stock of kitchen utensils, cooking utensils and cutlery. The pool was immaculate and the water quality was perfect. The beds were comfortable. There was a generous supply of towels both for the two baths and for the pool. As an added bonus, we had access to the Kona Concierge, who was very helpful with booking tours and with general information before and during our stay. Finally the staff at Kona Coast Vacations was very easy to work with, accommodating and extended a sincere Aloha spirit. We were in the house for two weeks and it really took our Hawaiian vacation to the next level. Thank you, Kona Coast Vacations!

We joined our son and his family for their Spring Break in Kailua-Kona for a week. The house was wonderful - it was clean, well-equipped, comfortable and in a great location! David, the concierge, was really helpful and aanswered any questions promptly. The pool was big and there were toys, floaties, etc that entertained our grand children for hours! Thank you! The house, gardens, pool and neighborhood were absolutely beautiful, spotlessly clean and well maintained. We were a family of 6: 2 grandkids, parents and grandparents and it was a perfect stay for all of us. Everyone loved the pool and all the wonderful time on the lanai…starting with breakfast and ended each afternoon with a tropical drink to enjoy while watching the sun set. We were pleasantly surprised to find plenty of paper products, bathroom toiletries and cleaning supplies along with kitchen basics- only thing we needed to add was fresh groceries. We also appreciated the nice welcome gift bag, plenty of beach towels, pool toys and supplies for the beach. Can't say enough how much we enjoyed staying in such a beautiful home and enjoying our time together. We all had a wonderful time and look forward to returning soon! PS -also thanks to our concierge David for recommending the luau at King Kamehameha Hotel-we had so much fun and his Beach recommendations were spot on. Thanks again!

We loved Hawaiian Honu House. It was a perfect place for us and our son and his family. In many ways we wish that we had booked it for the whole time that we are in Hawaii but we could not justify the additional two weeks for just my husband and me. My husband enjoyed the recliners….this trip is kind of a sweet sorrow for us as he has metastatic cancer and this is likely our last trip to the islands. We will always have fond memories….the pool was perfect for our grandchildren learning to swim, for just us two to have some quiet time together. The house is beautifully equipped. My only suggestion would be to have one of those small upright vacuums for the hardwood floors, especially for people having an extended stay. The landscaping is exquisite. Loved having the garage available to us. Thank you for wonderful memories.

We were a party of 6 who had the privilege of staying in this very well appointed home, and we would highly recommend it. One of the highlights for us is that we did not expect to use and enjoy the pool as much as we did. The pool is salt water with no chlorine, and it was extraordinarily refreshing during all times of the day (early morning, middle of the day and evening). Another highlight is the backyard showcased beautiful sunsets. It was nice and relaxing to watch sunsets from the backyard. Having air conditioners in each room was also an added bonus. The grounds of the home were nicely maintained. The master bedroom was especially spacious. The neighborhood was very nice, and we loved the view everytime we drove into the estate gates. The home had everything we needed for cooking, beach towels, regular towels, and a small ice chest and chairs in the garage that we used for our trips to the beach. Our favorite beach (Manini'Owali Beach - Kua Bay) was only about 20 minutes away from the property! Dealing with Kona Vacations was a genuine pleasure from top to bottom. If pressed to provide a downside, the second bathroom is small depending upon how many people are using it; however, I would not let this deter you from renting this well located, beautiful home. After our days out exploring, we were excited to return to our home away from home.

We had an AMAZING time in Hawaii, and at the Hawaiian Honu House! My husband and I, along with one of our sons and his wife stayed there, along with our two young grandchildren. The house was perfect for the six of us. We really enjoyed the pool, especially the kids, and had many opportunities to swim. Our other two sons and their wives stayed at Onenelo 10, which was also a fabulous place. We had a chance to visit them one evening, and the ocean views were spectacular! Your island is amazing!! We explored the volcanoes, snorkeled with mantas, visited Rainbow Falls and Black Sands Beach, had a family photo session, toured a Kona Coffee farm, and went to a Luau. Mahalo, for the wonderful experience!

Exceeded our Expectations

During our time on the island, we stayed at 3 rental homes, starting with this home, a home in Hilo and a resort north of the airport. This home rated the highest among all of our family members. Our two 18 year olds rated it a 10/10. The home was very well equipped (kitchen, bath and helpful items for beach trips) and we appreciated the small gift bag that included local Kona coffee and island honey, as well as some other tasty items. The back yard was wonderful with lush landscaping, a hammock, and beautiful pool. The sunsets were amazing from the backyard and there was often a nice breeze coming from the ocean, which was within eye-site. I would consider the cost to be very high, but if this house is within your budget, you will not be disappointed. We would definitely rent this house again.

This property made out first trip to the big island perfect! The house was so spacious and beautiful; from the magnificent pool to the views of the ocean. The house was beautifully decorated and fulfilled all of our needs! Neighbors were so welcoming and helpful - two even brought us fresh papayas and apple bananas from their gardens. We will definitely be back!

Beautiful home, lovely backyard, great view, fantastic pool, wonderful lanai. Really good location. Floor plan is great to have primary bedroom on one side of the house and the other bedrooms on the far side. Did I mention the lanai/backyard and pool are amazing? We had one issue with the AC but I was able to resolve it myself. the call service tried to resolve but the property management did not resolve the issue.

We really enjoyed our stay here, the pool was great and nice sized for actual swimming, the house was really clean and beautifully set up, and the view of the ocean beautiful (albeit in the distance.) The only complaint I have is about the AC which in the master bedroom was freezing and in the kitchen really hot (guest room was good!) I wont deduct a star since it did work and the service was great at responding.

Quiet neighborhood allowed for a peaceful trip. The pool was great for escaping the heat. The location was ideal for being away from the crowds while close enough to the stores and shops to get what we needed.

Everything Was Perfect!

Everything about this property was perfect! Very clean, great location, and spacious. The fenced in yard from the pool was just what we needed with two young kids. The pool was incredible with a shallow area for my one year old and deep area for my husband and four year old to do cannon balls. We had an issue with the grill and the management company brought us a new one right away! Loved everything about this house and will be back in the future.

Enjoyed our stay here away from the busy beach front. Easy drive to White Sands Beach that has free parking! You can walk down to Alii Drive via a path which is easy. This family of 6 adults had plenty of space to make lasting memories!

We stayed at Honu House on the Kona side. It was the perfect for us. KCV was very responsive, the house was clean and comfortable with anything we needed. I would recommend KCV and will use them again for our next visit.

Had a wonderful stay at the Honu House from Kona Coast Vacations. The interior was top notch and the grounds & pool immaculate. The house sits on a hill and has a view of the Pacific. A short walk down a pig path and you will see an amazing sunset. If ever on the Big Island, consider using KCV. David (concierge) was also a big help scheduling horse ride, kayaking, and suggesting other sightseeing adventures.

We have stayed in this location twice and it is such an oasis. Our son, his wife and two grandchildren were with us. While there are many sights to see on the island, the yard and pool were great for the children! The home is beautifully furnished, clean. Having the master on one end of the house and the two bedrooms on the other gave great separattion. Nice quiet neighborhood. I would definitely stay here again when we return to the Big Island!

One of our best vacation properties

The house is as pictured and was absolutely perfect for a family group which included 6 and 9 year old children and grandma. Convenient access through the garage with a hose nearby for keeping sand out of the house. All the furnishings were top quality as were the decorations. Location is great for beaches and trips to anywhere on the island. The large pool is beautiful and well maintained with very comfortable outside furniture. The erupting volcano created some vog in the Kona area but it did not bother us....we found blue skies and sun by traveling a bit north. A predawn trip to see the lava flow by boat was amazing . Fairwinds does a great night snorkel with the Manta Rays and Kona Coast Vacations, which manages the property, was great to deal with both before and during our stay. If asked for any way in which this rental home could be improved, I would suggest a shop vac in the garage for cleaning the inevitable sand collection out of the car. This review is from a frequent renter of family vacation properties and I will say that Hawaiian Honu house is amomg the best.

What can I say? Everything was perfect! The home was clean, classy and extremely well appointed with everything we needed to relax. We did cook several meals at the house and found everything we needed. The home owners should be commended for providing a truly superior experience. Kona Coast Vacations, the rental management company, was THE MOST PROFESSIONAL management company I have ever worked with.

Beautiful, gated, quiet

Start to finish, very nice experience. Beautiful house in a very quiet gated community. Great view of the ocean. Easy access to town and beaches. We had almost perfect weather and the location was central for our excursions. Pool as a little cool at first, but warmed up. Cloudy weather affects the hot water tank, but was easily switched over to electric. The house had everything we needed including umbrellas for the beach.

Of all the properties we have rented through VRBO and AIRB&B, this is the best one. It doesn't feel like a rental; it feels like we are staying in someone's gracious home. It is decorated beautifully with art pieces in most rooms. The kitchen is fully stocked, not just a small amount of dishes, utensils and pans. The view is beautiful, so great to have such a clear view of the ocean. And the pool is fantastic. Our grandchildren, two and four, live close by and loved the pool, plenty of room to play. Beautiful setting and private yard. And the pool area is separated from the main yard and lanai by an iron fence and gate. Very safe for kids. We hope to return again soon, and will plan our trip around availability of this house. Date of Stay: 11/13/17 to 11/27/17

Exceptional Kona Oasis

Our family has been renting vacation homes both here and on Oahu for several years now and this house has been the best by far! This is the first time I have ever rated a vacation rental as "exceptional" but in this case it fits the bill. When we first arrived, we found everything very clean and neat. Everything was as pictured and even better. The pool was great! We went for a swim everyday to cool off from the hot Kona weather. Lots of pool toys to use for your kids. The outside patio was a fun gathering place for everyone, and we made good use of the BBQ grill too. The yard was also very enjoyable to walk around in. The landscaping was beautiful with many fruit trees and fragrant flowers to see and smell. There were pikake, plumeria, and tiare flowers. The vendors they use for the pool, and landscaping are top notch too. The furnishings are nice and comfortable. The beds were comfortable as well and we were able to get a good nights rest on them. There towels well stocked and there was more than enough for everyone. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed to cook complete meals. And this time we even got to use the garage to park our car. This is a very quiet, private neighborhood that's gated so you feel safe as well. The only thing that could have made it better would be an additional ac unit for the living room. Kona does get warm in the summer. Other than that, I highly recommend this rental for anyone that wants to stay in Kona. Shopping and dining is just 5-10 minutes away Recommended for: Families with Young Children, Sightseeing, Girls Getaway, Age 55+, Families with Teenagers

We truly enjoyed our stay in this home. There were four of us and plenty of room both in the house, on the patio and around the pool. The mattresses were excellent so everyone had great sleeps. The rental was well equipped, with the exception of the towels which we felt were scratchy and needed replacing. Also, a beautifully decorated home in a great location. Very central to everything in the heart of Kona in a gated community. We would definitely stay in this home again!

A short drive to Kailua-Kona, this was a great location. The house is in a very nice community and was exactly as pictured. The pool is unheated, but was warm enough to swim daily. Our two young granddaughters played everyday in the shallow end. And no worries, the pool was fenced so they were not able to enter it alone. We cooked some of our meals at home and the kitchen was stocked well. had a fantastic vacation and Michelle at Kona Coast Vacations was very helpful, even meeting us at the house to show us around. Best place to stay in Kona!

Our family of 3 has been visiting Kona for the past 10 years and renting various condos with an ocean view. This year we thought we'd rent a house with a pool, even if it wasn't right on the ocean. Best decision we've made! The saltwater pool was a great way to start and end the day, and you can still see the ocean from the beautiful lanai. The house is tastefully decorated and the grounds are so beautiful. We couldn't wait to come home after our daily excursions. We got to eat a few meals at home, and even grilled on the lanai. The kitchen had everything we needed, and if not, Longs Drugs or Safeway was nearby. There was a storm for 2 days when the beaches were closed, but it wasn't a problem because we had the saltwater pool surrounded by beautiful foliage, so we didn't feel like we missed out on water play at all. Out of all the years we've been back, this was the most relaxing vacation on the Big Island we've had because of this beautiful home and we can't wait to stay in it again. It was like we had our own private oasis. Thank you!
