The pool? Ice cold would be understating the temperature. Even after golfing in 28C there was no way to get more than a plunge in and then out. No Wifi in outside bedrooms. The BBQ took a long time to heat up- two nights we finished cooking using stove top. This were the biggest problems. The house itself and location was perfect for our group. Very well organized. Spent a lot of time on the deck. Lots of space.

The home and landscaping absolutely gorgeous! Very well appointed with a plenty of kitchen space, lovely bedrooms and baths, extremely comfortable living and lounging space. Loved the pool, hot tub (even though the jets were not working), waterfall and outdoor gas grill. It was everything we wanted/needed for our visit of 4 couples.

This is a fabulous location and the house fit our needs. We did have a number of issues upon our arrival; pool filthy, broken pool skimmer, broken kitchen cabinets that could not be opened, as well as a garbage cabinet that had closed into a electrical box with exposed wiring. The detached rooms fire alarms went off in the middle of the night on three separate occasions . All were addressed promptly and most were able to be fixed within a few days. The 3rd party people that came out were friendly and addressed what they could explaining why something could not be fixed. I did question that we only received one call back on the first night to follow up on issues. Poor customer service on that end. We did not let it ruin the stay. This is not a young child friendly or elderly friendly house due to stairs and uneven flooring. There are a few loose tiles throughout the property and of course the many areas kids could get into the pool unsupervised. That said, the house is laid out well for privacy, the kitchen was great as it had all of the cookware and dishes on hand. We found a large amount of leftover spices, bowls etc. Eating outside each night and ending a day exploring with a private pool was grand. Our group all agrees that the location, privacy and pool made up for the house being well lived in. The decor and surrounding landscaping are stunning. We would stay here again.

This place is absolutely amazing. Location is great, ocean view is lovely from the home. 4 adult couples stayed here and we had a great amount of space. Bedrooms are lovely. All have proper showers not like the one photo. I was nervous about the one with the hand held but it was renovated to a lovely stand up. Only thing is the pool is very cold. It would be nice if they spent money for a solar pool heat system. The hot tub is on a timer so you need to turn it on and it’s only hot during the hours of 4-10 pm. Kitchen is huge and well equipped. Great places and great communication with the concierge David was amazing. He helped us book whale watching and night snorkeling with Mantas. Answered all questions we had before and during our stay.

Our family had a wonderful stay at this amazing property. Its design is perfectly suited for an extended family vacation, and we would certainly return.
In terms of suggestions, I have two: 1) While I understand the energy use issue associated with not heating the pool, for all practical purposes the cold water eliminates pool use. The days were sunny and in the 80s but it had no discernable warming effect on the water. It was far too cold for the entire 10 days for all but 2 of us to (barely) tolerate—and we are used to swimming in cold water in the Upper Midwest. Whether it is heating via solar-generated electricity or some other option, in my view the pool is unusable without being heated from some source—which is a shame, because it is an otherwise fantastic feature of the property; and 2) the air conditioning energy-saving function involving sensors on the doors certainly makes sense, but it did not work correctly during our stay. Despite following the directions/suggestions to the letter about resetting the AC by opening and closing the doors, there were two days during which the AC would not come back on for several hours after kicking off (presumably due to the door sensors). Both of those days, the temperature reached 80 degrees before coming back on (despite many prior resetting attempts). It led me to believe that the system was programmed to kick off during certain hours, or after a certain amount of AC runtime. Both of these issues did affect our enjoyment of the property on those days.
We did have a service call for a non-functioning thermostat in the outer two-bedroom building, which was responded to by your staff quickly and fixed with a contractor shortly thereafter. Very big positive!

The place is very well equipped. We have everything we needed. The only minor issue is the two bedroom is outside the main house. Would be more convenient if it is together. We have young children and wouldn’t let them go out without adult because of the swimming pool. Will stay here again

We had an overall amazing stay at this beautiful home. I would stay here again if we ever come back. The only issues we had with the home were minor. We are very easy going and try not to sweat the small things. I would wake up to that beautiful view everyday of my life. It really was a dream home. We loved our welcome gifts and wanted to say thank you for being so thoughtful. 10 out of 10 would recommend this property for anyone looking for a dream trip. I just want to warn you that two of the bed rooms have what we believe were double beds that we strapped together for couples. The two couples that were staying in those rooms had a little trouble with them separating. Other then that the bedroom set ups were great for the three sets of couples that were on the trip. Again, it was a great location.

The beds strapped together are two twins converted into a King bed with a store purchased conversion kit. Originally we offered these two rooms with two twins that could be converted to a King with a fee. We must have left it as a King bed for your arrival. Normally those rooms would have been set up with two twins.

We stayed at Hale Lea 8 for two wonderful weeks in August, celebrating our 20th anniversary and special birthdays with the best group of family we could ask for. The home was designed to offer a great vacation experience for all. The location worked out well for our travel adventures, not to mention the beautiful ocean views from any area of the home. Sunsets were gorgeous. It was hard to decide between exploring this beautiful island or just relaxing by the pool and lanai of this wonderful home. Minor issues were resolved quickly by one call to your amazing management staff. Mahalo nui loa for allowing us to have an amazing vacation and making memories for a lifetime. We hope to have a chance to return to this beautiful island and would definitely use Kona Coast Vacations again. The property was amazing, the location quite and within a few miles of everything. The ocean view from the master br room was beautiful. The house easily supported 8 adults. There was plenty of space, kitchen utensils, tv,s, etc. If there was anything I would add to this already beautiful property is a powder room in the main part of the house as it would make it more convenient when folks are enjoying each other company but need to run off to their expected to room to use the facilities.

We stayed for a week at this beautiful home in Keauhou. The house is big with four separate suites and lots of sitting areas on lanais (there seemed to be as much outdoor space as inside!). The kitchen is really big so lots of room for cooking - could use some more essentials (cooking implements, bakeware) for such a large home. The dishwasher needs to be serviced or consider replacing. Be advised that the oven takes a looooong time to preheat. We were warned by other reviewers that the pool was COLD and they were not wrong. Only my determined 12-year old braved the pool. What was annoying was that the hot tub heater is on a timer to only function from 4-8 PM and it takes a couple of hours to actually heat up, so the usability of the hot tub is extremely limited. This was a disappointment to us. Other than those issues, the house is lovely and the layout made for a very pleasant stay for our party of three adults and two teens.

The house was great. Was a little concerned about 2 bedrooms not part of the main house but it actually was a perfect setting. Me (grandma) had the master suite and 2 grandchildren (ages 11 & 14) stayed in the guest room that has 2 twins. Both daughters & 1 son-in-law stayed in the 2 bedrooms not part of the main house and they loved it. Each room had their own bathroom, bedroom fans (which is a must for me) & T.V.'s in all the rooms. Patio was our main sitting area and PLENTY of comfortable seating. Pool was great too, I am not a pool person and I even went into it for a swim. Kitchen is very large, had plenty of utensils & 3 different coffee makers. We definitely did not bump into each other in this kitchen. Location was perfect, easy to find when you follow their directions. All in all, I highly recommend this property and if I come back with my family, I would definitely book it again.

My husband and I together with two other couples spent a week in this beautiful, well appointed home. There was plenty of space for us all to have our own individual space and plenty of space for us to gather. We especially enjoyed all of the different spaces outside. The kitchen is very large and was very well equipped with everything we needed. The home is in a gated community so we felt incredibly safe. After the initial check-in at the gate, it was a breeze getting in and out of the property. Two of the bedrooms are accessed from the outside (next to the pool). Certainly not a problem with adults but may pose a problem if traveling with children. The pool isn't heated but was warm enough to enjoy as long as the sun was out. You will definitely need a car as shopping, restaruants and beaches are too far to access on foot.

We were 4 couples staying for 2 weeks of relaxation and golf. Plenty of room for 8 people to spread out, the lanai and outdoor dining area is excellent. Pool is great. Kitchen well appointed. All 4 bedrooms are good. Property manager very responsive. Surprisingly quiet for being situated on the corner. No common powder room, though, so if you have guests, as we did, they have to use one of the bathrooms attached to a bedroom.

I went with my family of 4 and we all had a great time! The outdoor space at the house was amazing - we spent most of our time out there when we were around the house. The pool was huge, and there was even a hot tub (it isn't mentioned in the description, but the small tub next to the pool is a hot tub). The sunset views were great. As seen in the pictures, the house is basically all outside if you open all of the large sliding doorways, but we only did that the first day as we noticed a lot of bugs got into the house. It still felt very spacious and open even with the doors closed. I'd say the only downside of the house was that it was so beautiful that we did a bit less exploring of the big island than we otherwise would have since no one wanted to leave!

Beautiful house but I would not recommend it for small children. You walk across a bridge over the pool to access 2 of the bedrooms. I'm used to finding some basic provisions in the kitchen. There were none, not even salt and pepper. There were only 2 beach chairs, a third was broken. Lots of snorkel equipment and boogie boards. We enjoyed the pool and hot tub. We spent most of our time outside on the ample lounge and seating areas.

The property was perfect for our group! There were 4 couples, and each of the 4 rooms had its own bathroom. It was great to be able to congregate in the large kitchen and common areas, but then escape to your room for a little privacy. We spent most of our time in the outdoor pool/lanai area, which was very spacious and well furnished. I highly recommend this property for larger groups!
Three generations enjoyed the spaciousness of the home. Separated bedrooms and bathrooms were appreciated by all. Views of the sunset will long be remembered. A great vacation home!

Our family had the most wonderful time staying at the Hale Lea 8. We loved the layout of the property, open lanai, lots of different seating areas, light and bright rooms, and the ocean view is spectacular. We spent 90% of our time outside in the beautiful yard/lanai. The property is quiet and private (gated community), but very close to shopping and beaches (5-15 minutes). Yes, the pool is unheated, but that is very common in Hawaii. On a warm sunny day, the pool temperature is still very comfortable, and the hot tub is a nice additional feature. Upon arrival the house was pretty clean, and any issues (a broken screen door before we arrived) were quickly resolved by the management company. Our family would be very happy to return to the Hale Lea 8!

We wanted a special trip for our 20th wedding anniversary with a dream home getaway. The house was everything we expected and more, but it’s KCV’s customer service that made it the best! From the minute we booked to days after being back on the mainland, they were attentive, helpful, courteous, and were never intrusive. If you’re planning a trip to the Big Island, contact Kona Coast Vacations directly!! Save yourselves fees and frustrations from third party agencies. KCV provides it all! We even had our own concierge, David, who was a wealth of information and helped in booking our incredible whale watching excursion!

So many wonderful things about the house. lots of space. 4 bedrooms all en suite which was exactly what we preferred. We enjoyed the indoor and outdoor space. We knew that the pool was unheated, but it was still very disappointing. We jumped in and froze just to say we used it. The hot tub was Not listed as an amenity but we worked around it and enjoyed it. The house is 2 miles from Magic Sands Beach which is a very small beach. But we worked around this. It is very important to understand the positives and negatives of any place you rent.

This was a very special time for our family. It was our first time to the Big Island and with the entire family and over Christmas. The location is idyllic, peaceful, and welcoming. All the basics were in place. The rooms afforded each couple their own privacy which with Millennials is key. We will be back...next time for longer than a week.

A lovely house in a fantastic position with great views, and a great outdoor space to spend time in. Everything was ready for us upon arrival and access etc. via the coded entry made it very simple. Property managers were very reactive when we had an issue with one of the cable tv boxes and had someone round within the hour who got it sorted for us. If we are being really picky, we did need to set the timer for the hot water in the two ground floor bedrooms as they have their own cylinder in the master bedroom dressing area and they had no hot water initially. Also Wifi a bit weak, but moving extenders got coverage in most of the house. Overall a fantastic experiencing !!

Executive vacation rental

This home was perfect for our generational vacation 14 to 78 and we all fit ! Love the covered patio and pool makes it hard to want to go site see! Only thing was grandmas mobility but with the man floor bedroom we made it work, if you are unable to do stairs into the house this home would not work! But we would stay again and again!

Love the layout and the wonderful outdoor setting area. Only wish the Pool was heated. We only rent homes with pools and unfortunately the pool was way too cold to use. The spa is on a timer and you can only have the heater on or the jets on but not at the same time. It was difficult to use and found we had to use the spa to cool off due to the Pool tempature being to cold. Breaker for the spa kept defaulting therefore had to call the Kona Property Manager several times. They were wonderful at helping but had to relay on the availability of the Pool Company to reset. Great home for the price if the pool would have been heated. Always wonderful being in Hawaii. Aloha.

Absolutely gorgeous home in a very desirable neighborhood. The home is designed and decorated very beautifully causing us to not want to venture out much or leave the premises while vacationing there ~ For us, it was Heaven-In-A-House. All the en-suites are very private and the house is very spacious with a dream kitchen for cooking. My only complaint is that the hot-tub wasnt operating while we were there but was fixed and operating the morning we left. Thank You Halele’a, you truly are A House Of Joy!

The house was clean as were all the linens, but a little bit tired. The pool is not heated, so not of any use in January. The hot tub heated, but jets wouldn't come on. We called the manager who had someone out that day who fixed the jets, but the next day they didn't work again and we just dropped it. All in all, we had a great time, and the place was perfect for 4 couples.

House offers luxury and coziness with a Kona indoor/outdoor twist. Everyone comes away with a favorite nap and sunset spot. Central to Kona coast activities. Enjoy a blend of mom & pops and 5 star restaurants as well as a mix of planned and spur of the moment Kona experiences.

We just spent a wonderful week at this amazing home. This was our first trip to Hawaii for a family holiday. Kona Coast vacation rentals were excellent to deal with, very friendly and prompt communication. The home is gorgeous, with a great pool and garden. It is as described, and spotlessly clean and well presented. The bedrooms are large with their own bathrooms, so there is plenty of space and privacy for families. We would definitely recommend this home and Kona Coast vacation rentals. The house is located near to a local shopping centre, but you will need a car to explore the island. We appreciated our welcome hamper too, thank you.

Just returned from our wonderful vacation in Kona. This home was fabulous. Great location, very quiet neighborhood and very spacious. There are two bedrooms in main part of home that are very private. We stayed in master suite and it was huge! The other two bedrooms are separate from the main part of the house giving them extreme privacy. Pool was fabulous. The Spa did not work for us, but we really didn't need it. Kitchen had everything you could want. House had a lot of beach towels and chairs for the beach and boogie boards. AC worked great in bedrooms. Took awhile to cool the main house down, but as long as all the doors are closed it worked great. It was also great having security at the front gate. Overall, I would highly recommend this vacation home to anyone. We just loved it!

First off I would like to express my family's wonderful experience at this property. The pictures really don't do it justice. We ate 5 out of 7 dinners out on the lanai rather than going into town because....well,,,,why wouldn't you?! So peaceful and glorious with the setting sun. That being said we did have a major issue with the A/C which controlled the main part of the house and lower master BR. although the Kona Coast Team returned all of our calls and emails the compressor/parts had a failure which was unresolved by the time we left. We did however have A/C in the other bedrooms which were controlled by separate units. Fortunately the sliding glass doors helped to provide flowing air throughout the main portion of the home which was without A/C. Also, the owner was gracious enough to provide a partial refund for out inconvenience! The jets in the spa did not work but Kona Coast sent a couple of guys out... so for future guests I hope it works. Our family of 6 thoroughly enjoyed our time there even with those couple of glitches and would consider returning to this home on our next visit!! Beautiful property!

I was hesitant to book this property as it had no reviews. After being reassured by the rental company, I went ahead and am glad as it is a fabulous place to stay! We wanted 4 master suites and this was the most affordable home we found. It's an incredibly good deal as the home is very large, has a private pool, and it's very clean.The master suite is huge. The 2nd bedroom, right off the front door, has its own veranda. The bathroom has just a tub with a shower wand, no curtain, so it's not ideal for a shower. The other 2 bedrooms are a bit separate from the main house, but that was actually nice since it afforded more privacy. However, if you've got young kids it might not work for you. The neighborhood is very quiet and secure.The pool is great – lots of room to swim or float – there are several blow-ups for the pool. 4 nice lounge chairs. Lots of beach towels! We brought extra from home but didn't need them. The towels in the bathrooms were nice, too. I think we had a lot of brand new things since we were the first renters – nice! The kitchen is fully stocked with just about anything you could need (other than food). They have tons of new dishes including plastic ones that are safe for the pool area. The only things I can think of that they didn't have were a garlic press and foil! Fully stocked in the way of paper napkins, paper towels, tp, and laundry soap. There wasn't any dishwashing detergent, but I think that was an oversight and we just bought our own. We used the barbecue a couple times. We had a couple issues with the internet and the company responded immediately. They were very good to work with.The location was great for us as we had a car. It is about a 10 minute drive into the downtown Kona area. There is a nice shopping center and movie theatre about 2 minutes drive. Beaches are as close as a 5 minute drive. Costco about 20, longer depending upon traffic.I highly recomm
