Overall, the condo was perfect for us. The location was centrally located, making everything in Kona within walking distance. The kitchen was well-equipped with lots of appliances & nice utensils. The fridge was big with filtered water and fresh ice every day. The TV in the living room was perfect as we were able to sign into our streaming services. The music system is wired to work throughout the condo and lanai. The lanai is the absolute gem of the place. We spent so much time out there enjoying the breathtaking view of Kailua Bay. The condo also has 2 boogie boards, 4 beach chairs, 4 beach towels, 2 umbrellas, sand toys, and pool noodles. The bedrooms were perfect with very comfortable beds. A few more blankets would have been great. The bathrooms were clean and well stocked. There was TP, soap and shampoo there - enough to last a few days, but no conditioner. The pool was perfect - beautiful setting and nice temperature. We used it a few times and enjoyed the challenge of walking up 7 flights of stairs afterward. The only real complaint we had was the door lock. It is a combination pad only - no key. The combination is set remotely by the property management company. You get yours a few days before you check in. When my husband and I went food shopping on our second day, our 12 year old wanted to stay in the condo alone. He stays alone at home frequently. We told him not to open the door for anyone and we'd be home soon. He had the address and knew what to do in case of an emergency. As we're halfway through our food shopping trip, our phones are blowing up with frantic messages saying we need to get home now! Apparently, the condo's maintenance man knocked on the door and wouldn't leave. I called the management company and told them to have him leave immediately. We rushed back to the condo to find out that the man let himself inside with his own code. Thankfully he left, but when I spoke to the management company, they explained that many people have codes to get inside – vendors, maintenance people, the building management, the owner, etc. The management company was very apologetic and agreed to wipe all codes from the door lock except ours and theirs. The owner also apologized profusely and compensated us satisfactorily. Overall, the place and our stay was incredible. I added this story because the experience soured the start of our trip and as a mom, I think it would have been nice to know how the lock works before our stay.

Kona Ali'i 705 is a fabulous unit for a visit to Kailua-Kona. The location is right on the water's edge, walking distance to many places to eat, has a dedicated parking spot for just 705, feels very secure, great sunset views from the lanai and sunrise views from the upper veranda. The upper outside veranda, by itself is a unique and remarkable feature to be enjoyed. The unit is very well appointed with a large fully cable connected TV in the main room and two smaller TVs in the two bedrooms, lower and upper. The unit has ample and well placed USB charging ports built into conveniently located electrical receptacles, a very useful feature. Most lights have adjustable light levels and the bathroom lights turn on upon entry. The curtains and sun shades, internal and external, are operated by switch and automatically stop. There is a very modern kitchen with efficient dishwasher, large refrigerator and freezer unit, microwave and stove (not a common item in rented units) and an electric tea kettle. This kitchen even has something very rare in rental units, it has a full set of sharpened knives neatly attached to a magnetic holder conveniently located in the kitchen. We have never experienced a rack of sharp knives in 40 years of renting units, we always travel with a knife sharpener to remedy this. Sharp knives were an unexpected treat. The separate laundry room has a full sized and modern washer and dryer The unit is walking distance to large grocery stores or one can drive. Easy access to the main road to visit Hawi or Captain Cook and Volcano/Hilo. It is simply a marvelous unit and location. I recommend it highly, our expectations were exceeded. Staying on the 7th floor of this wing of Kona Ali'i has been a bucket list destination since we stayed in a unit on the 3rd floor in 2010.

This place was fabulous. Quiet even with all the nearby restaurants, was decorated very nicely, had amazing balcony views, was immaculate upon arrival, boasts lots of great space, had a fully stocked kitchen, had lots of beach gear available, and everything-and I mean everything-was automated, including all the shades throughout the unit. Could not have been happier staying here and would not think twice about staying again if/when we ever return. Mahalo!!

The views from the lanai are spectacular! This was actually our 2nd time staying in #705 and it did not disappoint whatsoever! We loved #705 so much that we re-booked it immediately for this summer. The unit has everything you need for the perfect home away from home vacation (even beach towels/toys). The beds are immensely comfortable. But for the crashing of the ocean waves persuading me to go out to the lanai, I might've stayed in bed all day! Every morning we would sit on the lanai, sipping delicious coffee (brewed by the unit's Breville coffee maker - nice!) and watched all the activity out in the bay: paddle boarders, boats, kayaks, canoes, dolphins, fish and turtles! And the sunsets are just ridiculous - picture perfect - amazing! The unit is walking distance to many shops, restaurants and Kailua Pier. Safeway, WalMart, and Starbucks are all within a mile. Target is about 2 miles. Do yourself a favor, stop wasting time looking at other units and just book #705!

Love staying at Kona Alii. Love proximity to town. The view is to die for. This unit was great because the upper bedroom had a wall to block it for privacy. Try to stay here every time I go to Kona.

The couple of times we needed small items the Kona Vacations contacts immediately provided. Third, the TV app took a little getting use to but we all quickly adjusted. Finally, and most importantly all owners and long term renters we met in the breezeways, elevator and pool area were very welcoming. LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION. We will return.

My stay in unit 705 at Kona Alii was what I expected. The condo was clean and ready for me. The owner goes to lengths to make it easy to know where things are and labels everything! I appreciated the amenities in the laundry room and baths. The whole unit is very well appointed. I would highly recommend this property. Kona Coast is easy to work with and considerate of my travel. Thank you for making feel comfortable by knowing that you are there if needed.

INCREDIBLE

We stayed at the Kona Alii #705 and, let me tell you, this unit is amazing. Two full bedrooms, each with a full bath and air conditioning units that are quiet and work well. There is also an AC in the living room. The view from this unit is INCREDIBLE, and there is an expensive spotting scope that we used to see whales and dolphins. The woodwork in this unit is amazing -- from the floors, to the custom pocket doors upstairs, to all of the custom closets, drawers, and cabinets throughout. The furniture in the living room and even the lanai is comfortable and lovely, but there isn't so much that the place is crowded. It will take you a few days to figure out the lights, showers, etc... because it is all high-tech and fancy. Although we didn't use them, there are 3 high-end televisions and even iPods with music! The laundry room has been redone and includes not only top of the line washer/dryer, but a utility sink where you can rinse your snorkels and beach shoes! The kitchen is clean, beautiful, and functional. I liked the pots so much that I'm buying a set for home. The building is safe, clean, and within walking distance to dozens of restaurants, shops, and the King Kam beach. The staircase is steep, and not appropriate for small children and people w difficulty w mobility. But there is a bedroom downstairs and this building has 2 working elevators. The parking space for this unit is on the lower level, which is both convenient and keeps you dry when it is raining. Win!

Kona Alii 705 is well appointed, has all the modern conveniences including automatic lighting and blinds, custom doors, top of the line appliances and oversized washer and dryer. We came back wanting to remodel our own home ;) The beds were very comfortable and having Apple TV was a nice treat! The location of this condo is perfect, we walked to get snorkel gear, shop, and eat every night. The harbor with catamarans and fishing excursions is close by too. But by far the best part of staying here is the view. Gorgeous sunsets over the water, hearing the waves crashing against the shore made this a tropical paradise. Totally recommend staying here in Kona!

AMAZING CONDO!

We stayed at Kona Alii 705 and it was such a magical trip! The views from the deck were amazing. The condo setup and amenities made the trip easy and carefree. Not to mention the location is walkable to tons of restaurants, bars, and shopping. There's a pool and BBQ area if you get tired of the beach as well but we didn't really spend much time there ourselves as we love being at the beach.

This top floor condo unit has been beautifully renovated, with all needed amenities. So your stay will be comfortable. Then, there's the view! Pictures of the view are accurate, and you will not be disappointed. My kids were very impressed and super excited to use the telescope. I enjoyed my coffee every morning on the balcony taking in the view and listening to the waves. Restaurants are in east walking distance. Covered Parking for this unit was very nice as well.

We rented Kona Ali'i 705 over the 2022 Christmas holiday. The condo is very nice. High-end appliances and finishes. Very clean. Well-equipped kitchen. The views from the condo are outstanding. Location is great for easy walk to shopping and restaurants. Very convenient for both walkers and runners. Mornings on the lanai drinking coffee, watching the sunrise, waves, surfers, swimmers, SUP and paddle boarders, spinner dolphins, and people out and about. Since the condo is West facing, awesome sunset every night. The starry nights (and early mornings) were spectacular. The fans and lights on the lanai truly came in handy. The condo is on the top floor so the view is great, street noise was minimal, and you can still hears the crashing waves. The A/C in every room was excellent. The high-end TVs, cable, and Sonos sound system throughout was a big plus (read the provided instructions). The beds, bedding, and towels were all in excellent condition. We loved that everything in the condo was labeled! The covered, dedicated parking spot eliminated any parking anxiety. The condo building and grounds felt very secure. The few condo residents we did encounter were very pleasant. The pool area looked very nice, clean, and plenty of lounge chairs, but we did not utilize it this time around. The check-in and check-out process was flawless. The communication and directions from the management company (Kona Coast Vacations) was excellent. We will definitely put this condo on the list to revisit, but we will be renting it directly from Kona Coast Vacations.

The home is immaculate and the view from the lanai is beautiful. My favorite thing to do was to relax on the lanai with coffee or a cocktail. We saw dolphins from the lanai almost every morning during our stay! I will absolutely be staying here again. Thank you!

Inside was absolutely PERFECT! We loved the space and would highly recommend for any family. For my husband and 2 children, this was a great option right off the main strip of Kona. Easy walking distance to everything with a great view. My only area of complaint was that the outside, walking up was a little rough. We were all a bit nervous walking up for the first time. But don't let the outside fool you. Inside is great. Also the frontage road can be a bit noisy. We were on the 7th floor and could still hear loud motorcycles and cars even with the windows closed. But obviously nothing you can do about that. A++ and I can't wait to come back!

This Kona Coast Vacation property was the ideal vacation location to enjoy Kona. The condo was beautifully designed and furnished. The accommodations are extremely comfortable and functional. The AC, motorized shades, ceiling fans and lighting enabled the optimal comfort while enjoying the ocean views and sounds. The host was very responsive, pleasant and professional. It was a pleasant surprise to see that beach chairs, a cooler and beach umbrella were available for our seaside outings. We've stayed in many condos on the Big Island and Maui. This condo was amazing! The pool was better than I expected and not busy which was nice. The unit was beautiful!! As I woke in bed I could see the sun rising over the hill. The roof top lanai was the best place to sunbathe and very private. The front lanai had a beautiful view. Even the couch in the living room exceeded our expectations. Surround sound music was also a nice treat. Walked all over Kona everyday. Thank you for the stay and we hope we'll be able to book it again soon.

The best VRBO we have stayed in EVER. The property is exactly how it is pictured online. I would highly recommend staying, by far the best unit in the building. We have stayed on floors 4 and 5 and the road noise was deafening. The 7th floor by far is like you are in a different building, the ocean lulls you to sleep and never hear the road! The air conditioning is a real plus! Having stayed in the lower floors without it, we had to use fans to just make it bearable . We loved it so much here and will book again!

The condo was in an excellent location. We had a hiccup with check-in (building key missing from lock box so couldn't get in that night) but Kona Coast Vacations sorted it out and we got in the next morning. Other than that initial hiccup our stay was great. Condo was very spacious, my bridesmaids and I got ready for our wedding there with the stylists and never felt cramped. Walkable distance from most restaurants on Ali'i drive, shopping nearby. Has all the kitchen amenities you need to cook meals there. Having separate air conditioning for each room was excellent

The sunsets were beautiful! The sound of the ocean was calming and peaceful. Every morning we sat on the lanai, ate our breakfast and enjoyed looking out at the water. The location was convenient to restaurants, bars and walks. We had a much needed rest from the hustle and bustle of city life!

The air conditioning was great in all the rooms. The ocean view is great. The furniture is very nice and attractive. The kitchen is well stocked. It is like the owners live there. We could not figure out the TVs. Fortunately there is one bedroom downstairs. The stairs were hard for me to climb, it's probably easier for young people. It could use more lights in the living room and bedrooms, especially for reading in bed. There is a strange noise from outside upstairs probably from wind. Beach supplies were good. Managed by a company. I got lots of emails trying to sell activities. Could use a clearer, simpler email with the two codes you need to get in. You need two codes which is unusual. Fortunately they have someone available after hours. There were lots of places nearby to eat and a parking space reserved. It was very expensive for 4 days because of all the fees they added. The nightly rate sounded reasonable but the total price was really high. Still I am glad this was available. We enjoyed it a lot.

This property was more than expected. We had all the basic amenities needed. I was able to get in contact with the host when needed. The view was amazing from the deck on the 7th floor. There are lots of places to eat nearby. We especially enjoyed Kai and Papa Kona's.

This condo is located in a prime location within walking distance of numerous restaurants and bars but far enough that you are not hearing the nighttime noise when the balcony door closes. Check in process was very simple and the unit was very clean. From the balcony we enjoyed great sunset views and were able to watch dolphins in the mornings while eating breakfast. I highly recommend this condo for a family or friends getting together.

The Kona Alli #705 was beautiful! The lanai was very comfortable and overlooked the gorgeous Pacific ocean. It was kind of noisy with Alli Drive directly below. The beds were extremely comfortable and the bathrooms were luxurious. It was nice to have two King suites. The condo was spotless and the furnishings were lovely. We would come back!

This condo is close to everything, walking distance to all the good restaurants, shopping etc. You will need to drive to Costco/Safeway/Target etc for a big grocery shop. The view from the condo is amazing....directly looking out on the Pacific Ocean, waves crashing below us from the lanai. Everything was so comfortable in the condo - it truly was a home away from home. There is a small beach close to the condo that has chairs and umbrellas to rent...kayaks, paddle boards etc....but check out some of the stores close by as they have much cheaper rental prices by the hour/day/week.. Wished we had known this from the start. Magic Sands beach is about a 7-10 min drive away....no rental facilities here so take your own. Its a lovely beach though. Overall, a lovely, relaxing, stay.....

Comfortable condo. Great location within walking distance to shops & restaurants. We had fun watching people, fishing boats and dolphins from the 7th floor balcony. Enjoyed the beautiful pool. Upstairs air conditioner had trouble keeping the bedroom cooled. Onsite manager was attentive to our questions. Would definitely stay here again.

What a wonderful week we have had! My husband was not aware of how beautiful our view would be so when he walked in his jaw dropped. The property was clean, well stocked and perfectly located. We loved sleeping in the loft bedroom and waking to a view of the magnificent Pacific. Morning coffee on the lanai was such a treat and watching the tourists and bright lights of Alii Drive at night was magical. I hope we are fortunate to stay again sometime.

This is the second time we have stayed at this property. It is absolutely AMAZING. It's modern, very open, lots of natural light, the kitchen is well stocked if you want to skip restaurants some evenings, there is a Sonos sounds system with speakers throughout the condo and the beds are incredibly comfortable. The best part of all is the view. We spent HOURS sitting on the lanai watching the spinner dolphins and saw multiple humpbacks. Walking distance to SO MANY bars, restaurants, and coffee shops. We are already planning another visit.

5 stars. The water changed colors all day and you can see the yellow fish from the balcony!! Picture perfect sunsets. The condo was beautiful well appointed. Enough room enough cabinets and dressers. Kitchen was perfect. The front room was spacious and a lot of silting area. They have a built-in Sonos system that was great even on the patio. Patio Great furniture and a fan on the patio was nice. Had beach towels and all the beach gear you would need. We would rent this place again and would highly recommend it.

This condo is a gem right across from the ocean in Kona. This is close enough to shops and restaraunts to walk and was centrally located along the west coast. The views from the lanai were stunning and we had a perfect spot to watch the sunset each night. We watched dolphins in the ocean one morning and there is snorkeling right in the bay. The rental was immaculately clean and every detail was thought of. This was great for 2 couples, as we each had a bedroom and bathroom. A rare find to have A/C in Hawaii and was such a relaxing and beautiful place to stay while in Kona. I would not hesitate to stay here again, all 4 in our group loved the place. We do wish they had a recycling option on the premises. One small note: the internet wasn't working and we tried troubleshooting in the book that was in the condo. Was not a huge issue for our group and would not impact us staying again, but just wanted you to be aware so you can address it for the next guest.

I cannot begin to say enough positive things about the stay at this condo. It was off the charts awesome. The condo is right on Ali'i drive so you are in the heart of Kona. Go right and you can walk to lots of shops, go left and there are so many restaurants to choose from. Absolutely great location. And the views! Being on the 7th floor was great. We have 3 photographers in our group and made the most out of being in this location. Stunning sunsets and views all week. Cannot get too much better than this location. Now let's talk about the condo. Having two masters with private bathrooms was great. The home is beautifully decorated. The furniture is so comfortable. The addition of Apple tv and the awesome sound system was great. The kitchen was so well stocked with everything we needed to make breakfast and some dinners in was great. We even loved the toaster! Lots of towels. The A/C was great and kept us cool but we often shut it off and had the large sliding doors open for those great breezes and to hear the ocean. And the beds were so very comfy. Oh, and the waterfall shower upstairs was so relaxing. We had a couple of issues that were resolved the same day. The Kona Coast staff was incredibly accommodating and fixed everything within a couple hours. When we come back to Kona, I want to stay here again. Super rental. Mahalo for an awesome trip.

This condo in Kailua Kona is really beautiful with a fantastic view off the front deck. The kitchen has great knives and anything you could want to cook for yourself plus a new washer and dryer. It has two bedrooms each with a private bath so it’s perfect for two couples. There are restaurants and all kinds of activities to sign up for within steps of the building. My group loved the Thai place next door and rented mopeds from Hang Loose to explore snorkel sights. Definitely recommend.

This unit exceeded all our expectations and we would love to come back and stay in this unit again.

The pictures of the unit are pretty accurate but, the unit is much better than the pics. When we walked in we could see this was a first class unit, minimum 4 to 5 stars. The owners obviously took great care in decorating and outfitting the unit with everything one could want. First off two bottles of very nice wine, gourmet Kona Coffee, treats, spice gift set as a welcome gift to their beautiful home. Brand new appliances, quality dishes, glasses, cookware, everything one would expect in a 5 star unit. Beautifully equipped furnishings in all rooms with brand new high quality beds, bedding, brand new super soft towels. Almost too much to mention. The location of the unit is right in the heart of Kona, on the main drag, Alii Dr. 7th floor (top floor), next to corner unit and is very private with awesome views of the ocean and town. The binoculars provided were a real Nice touch since it made the viewing of fish from the balcony more exciting. In fact we saw the spinner dolphins playing and swimming with snorkelers not more than 200 yards off shore. A real treat thus inspiring us to use the provided beach supplies (masks, fins snorkels, beach chairs, beach towels, boogie boards, picnic coolers) so we could also swim with the dolphins in Kealakekua Bay. This unit exceeded all our expectations and we would love to come back and stay in this unit again. One of the best units My wife, brother in law , sister in law and I have ever stayed in our 30 years of traveling together. If you want a wounderful experience by all means, rent this unit you will not be dissatisfied.

Took my 84 year old mother and wife and they absolutely loved every minute we spent at the property. Every detail you can think of has been thought out by the owner... The unit is right on the main street of Kailua-Kona (Ali'i Dr.) so you're in walking distance of all the restaurants, bars, and shops. There's no building directly across the street so the view from your balcony is all ocean. You even get a great view of the sunset since you're on the 7th floor (top floor of the building). Also, the balcony is fairly large and well furnished so you can really relax on the comfortable chairs while you take it all in. Or inside with air conditioning since the first level of the condo is wall to wall glass. Inside is well furnished with 3 comfortable chairs, a couch, and dinning table (4 chairs) in the main area. It's fairly spacious as our 2 year old took advantage of running around a lot. The kitchen is fully stocked (blender, toaster, coffee maker, dishes, pots, pans, measuring cups, etc.). There is a sound system throughout the place controlled by two ipods, i think. We didn't quite figure it out but when we turned it on it played Hawaiian music as default so we were happy. There is also a desktop computer. There is a second small patio out the door on the second level with beach equipment stored there. The second level is a loft but there are sliding doors that can be used to make the sleeping area private. Date of Stay: 8/21/17 to 8/27/17

My wife and I wanted to leave a review for our amazing stay at Kona Alii 705. Our lodgings were spotlessly clean, every possible need was anticipated and provided for, and the views and location were spectacular. We were hugely impressed by the customer service from your team and our family (us and my wife's parents) were extremely happy during our time spent there. The only drawback (which wasn't a huge deal to us since my wife and her mom are from the islands), was the little critters living under the sink and the cockroach droppings on the stack of trash liners that were there on our arrival. Although the outside appearance of the building was a bit rough, we were very pleasantly surprised by the cleanliness and all the creature comforts in this condo. First, location is excellent and most popular locations in Kona are within walking distance. Second, it is right on the shoreline, so lots to see. All the amenities in the condo should be enough for any family or group. I would highly recommend this place to anyone considering the Kona area.

This is the second time I have stayed at this location and I am planning to return in a year's time! This condo is newly furnished and has many new features. There are 2 Lanai's. The front Lanai has a spectacular, uninterrupted view of the ocean. The thundering crash of the waves is so soothing....There is also a Lanai off of the Master bedroom (on the upper loft) which looks onto the mountains. All appliances are quite new and there is wireless Sonos throughout the condo. The kitchen is well equipped. The King sized beds are very comfortable. Very quiet and private. It is located right in the centre of Kona. Restaurants and shopping only seconds away! This location is a place you want to come back to!

Kona Alii 705 was more than we expected

Whenever you see an ocean from the balcony photo you think is too good to be true, it usually is, BUT in this case the Kona Alii was far nicer than we dreamed it could be! Aside from admiring the professional operations, we were also pleasantly surprised the the pool was also really nice. We started each morning with laps in the pool, enjoyed our breakfast on that stunning balcony while listening to ukelele music from the cafe next door, and were stunned by the little exotic birds that joined us for breakfast. Kona was very hot while we were there and we really appreciated having air conditioning when we needed it, and I'm not going to lie, also the convenience of a Target store that was a few miles away. We are already planning to return to this lovely condo.
