The view is fantastic! Nice clean condo. Close to town. Lots of fun stuff to use such as chairs, umbrella, snorkel gear. Kitchen well stocked. Did not use pool, but looked nice. BBQs which we used a lot. Stayed at Kona Reef before and will stay again. Can’t beat location and price!

We have stayed at Kona Reef a few times. Love the location and close proximity to restaurants and shopping. Love the lanai. Unit itself needs updating. Air conditioner is old and very loud. It was not as clean as other units we have stayed in.

THANK YOU for an amazing place to stay on the Big Island. The condo building is amazing. People were very nice that we met while there. The HOA takes very good care of the common areas, which is important. The view from the lanai was spectacular. We saw a whale, a pod of dolphins, and a sea turtle having a nap on the rocks during our stay. The condo was stocked with the right amenities, which was appreciated. Things like saran wrap, tin foil, and some oil was greatly appreciated. We had such a great time that we have already booked for next year. We also had one minor issue with the TV while we were there. Your staff were on it and we got it fixed quickly. Thank you for that. Top notch service. This is why it is our plan to return to this unit yearly. Location, amenities, and top notch service will keep us coming back. Thank you, thank you, thank you. Can't wait to see you next year!

Tho condo was perfect for 2 of us. It was clean, quiet, right on the ocean. We could easily walk to restaurants, bars and beaches as well as a grocery store, farm markets and fish market. The Kona coast staff were responsive and very helpful when we had questions. We are already booked for next year!

We totally enjoyed the stay at the condo on the beach but neighbors inconsiderate allowing doors to slam loudly and talking loudly early in the morning.

This condo was clean and comfortable and the view was great. My only suggestions would be to add a shelf for a toiletries bag in the bathroom as well as a hand towel bar as the sink/countertop is small. Also, a small dining table inside would be nice.

As for the sofa, it is a brand new sofa with a lounge. We are not sure what needed to be pulled out for seating. Perhaps you pulled out the sofa sleeper part? In any case, we apologize if it was difficult for you and would have been happy to resolve it while you were here.

We've stayed at the Kona Reef several times. The property is perfect for a quick swim and lounge by the pool. The BBQ area is comfortable and inviting. The evening sunset vigil by the residents is a lovely experience. The one bedroom units are cozy for two. We appreciated having some spices, oils and coffee filters from other visitors stays. In January humpbacks cruised on by. The dolphins were a little more shy and or the high surf hid their daily swim by the complex.

I wanted to write and thank you for a wonderful stay @ The Kona Reef. The grounds were really nice, if understated. Nice pool and a great BB-Q area. Room A-15 is in fine shape, and no nickle and diming us w/ accessories like towels and paper. Having in-unit laundry was sure convenient for our long trip. Everything real clean and everything worked great! We had a very stressful trip and were going bananas trying to find the place (wifey wrote the office address, not the Reef) and your gal calmed us and made it all so easy on the phone. (try getting the other guys to answer the phone after 5PM) When there was a small problem with the tub, the repair guy took care of in an hour or so. If you like ocean sounds, this is your place, sometimes we had to close the sliding door to be able to hear the t.v. Nice little, uncrowded beach park next door. Plenty of parking once you realize they mean it when they say take any open spot. Even alot of covered parking. Upgraded appliances were nice for the little cooking we did. But then you're only about 200 yards from the Kailua/Kona promenade so why cook? You betcha I'll be going back, and I'm telling all my friends. By the way, if A-15 isn't available, I will certainly be checking with Kona Coast Vacations for another place to stay because I can truly say, having stayed in many different hotels, motels and other accommodations, You guys are the best. I've never had better treatment by the staff, which includes sending my meds, which along w/ some paperwork were left behind. So thank you to the whole crew, and we'll be seeing you

We love the Kona Reef. We’ve been coming for many years and find that the complex is perfect for our needs. The views are fantastic, the sound of the surf is divine and we love that the walk into town is so quick and easy. The part of the complex the unit is in is great. The direct ocean front is of course fantastic. We also like the atrium area that’s between the buildings on this side of the complex. The trees help to keep the bedrooms cooler and it’s wonderful to wake up to birds singing. We were impressed with our dealings with Kona Coast. I reported some maintenance issues and they had them addressed incredibly quickly. The bed was comfortable and it was clean which is always important. This was the 7th Kona Reef unit we’ve stayed in. We very much liked that there wasn’t nearly the decorative clutter we’ve encountered in some of the units. However, it is lacking in some of the touches you tend to find in units where the owners stay in there on a regular basis. It meant that the kitchen wasn’t as well stocked as some. Hooks for things like towels & keys at the entrance would have been nice. I’m of average height and had challenges reaching some things and there’s no step ladder. These are pretty minor issues though. I think that the only thing I didn’t like about the unit was the couch. I really didn’t like it at all. However, we spent most of our time on the lanai so it really wasn’t a problem. Date of arrival - November 16, 2023 _______________________________________________

If you're looking for an amazing view. If you want to be close to the water. If you want to see and hear waves crashing onto the beach. If you want to see beautiful sunsets. This condo is for you!!!!!! We spent every morning and night setting on the lanai watching and listening to the waves. It was everything we had hoped for. The condo was clean and nicely decorated and in good condition. It was well stocked with towels and washcloths and any kitchen supplies we needed. I'll admit we didn't need much kitchen supplies since we were on the go most of the time checking out the island so we mainly showered and slept there. It is equipped with a window unit AC in the living room that keeps the area cool. They have some items in the closet like snorkeling gear, beach chairs, pool noodle and body boards for you to use. There's a nice little beach next door. There is covered parking garage for your car. The condo is within walking distance to several restaurants. The only improvement I can think of is if it also had AC in the bedroom. We noticed the first few nights the bedroom would be a little warm when we first went to bed so we just started turning the AC down a couple hours before bedtime. There is a ceiling fan and a small table fan in the bedroom to help. I read some reviews complaining about the birds making too much noise in the garden outside the bedroom but we never noticed it. We also had the pleasure of meeting the owner by chance. She is the sweetest and nice lady.

We were thoroughly impressed by how well stocked the condo was in the kitchen, bathroom, and beach supplies like boogie boards folding chairs, and a cooler. The view was absolutely gorgeous, peaceful, and quiet. The pool area had lounge chairs on the grass facing the ocean which made a perfect spot to watch the sunset. The A/C cooled down the entire condo even though it was located in the living room only. The wifi was a little slow and I didn't have great cell connection, but overall that didn't disrupt our stay at all. We would absolutely stay here again and plan to in the future!

The condo is amazing! The location is perfect… Just a few minutes walk from town. The view from the balcony is absolutely beautiful! The only negative I saw, the place could use a new air conditioning unit. The radiator on the current unit is rusting onto the balcony and leaves quite a mess.

Great location and even better view! The only complaint is that there is an atrium right outside the window at about 4-430 every morning the birds are chirping for about an hour and sounded like they were in my room! Other than that it was perfect!

Property is way below standard. Filthy, worn out floors inside and on lanai, totally in need of an update. Mold in the bathroom. Stayed in 10 other units at Kona Reef, all superior to A15. Pretty sure one could sell the refrig on the Antique Road Show. Until at least inside and lanai floors replaced, no one should stay in this place

Beautiful location. Condo needs updating. We found several deep cleaning problems. Let the property manager know and they were going to take care of it all; clogged drains, garbage disposal didn't work, floors dirty. Other than that comfortable and great location.

The unit could not have been better located. A short walk into town, right on the water where we had the surfers/boarders directly in front of us. A/C was great in hot afternoons, kitchen well stocked, comfortable King sized bed, parking, pool...what else do you need? Property manager reached out to us to insure all was OK. We were very happy with the unit and lanai.

This is a comfortable, older condominium. I could have stayed on the porch listening to the waves for hours. The sliding doors to porch are older and difficult to open - but it's simply worth the view. Even with the glass sliding doors closed, you can hear the waves. All appliances were in good condition and the bed was comfortable.
Perfect Distance for Walking

Well furnished. Not as glamorous as some of the more expensive upstairs units, except for the walls no longer being the cheery yellow, the photos are generally accurate, but a few things are due for a refresh. It had everything I needed for a very comfortable extended remote-working stay. The complex is quiet (mostly retired folk with their children and grandchildren visiting them, and run with a tight hand). The view and lanai can't be beat. Thick cement walls mean very little sound from neighbors. The pool is an unexpected bonus: Unlike many other places, it's actually VERY pleasantly warm in January/February, presumably because of the dark blue tile absorbing heat. Responsive property management company. On the map it looks like Kona Reef is a ways out of town, but I'm actually glad I didn't stay any closer, right in the touristy area, or farther down Alii Drive, this is the perfect distance for walking while being out of the hustle and bustle.

This trip was our happy 50/60 birthday vacation. The location was perfect and the view was breathtaking. We had a amazing time. The condo was had everything we needed to cook dinner, wash clothes and comfortable beds. The sounds of the waves helped us drift off to sleep each night. The neighborhood birds greeted us each morning with coffee. We enjoyed the surfers at sunset. Thank you for a wonderful place to stay. We look forward to coming back.

Our condo was your standard 1B/1B, with balcony and living space facing the surfers and bedroom in back adjacent to the walkway. The cork flooring somehow is just warmer and more comfortable on the feet than your usual linoleum or concrete floor. The kitchen had all the basic amenities (place settings), but no spices or sauces (bring your own if you plan to bbq; I don’t recall if there were pots/pans). Parking was a breeze, we happened to be on the second level, so there were maybe 4 steps total between parking lot and the condo. The pool was warm and clean,. The lava rock “beach” provided a place to walk out (carefully) to stick your feet in the water. There’s a proper beach we’re many of the surfers launch from immediately to the south side of the condo. The location is close to everything by car and a longish walk to the first set of restaurants and stores. Kona Concierge, the company that manages the property, was professional and everything was as expected. They sent emails regularly to offer excursions, but did not oversell. We took advantage of the 2+ hour horseback ride out to Umauma Falls to swim and LOVED it. We highly recommend it! It’s about a 2+ hour drive out, but on the super easy drive, you see so many different microclimates, the drive reallly shows off the variety Bih Island has to offer.

Overall it was a excellent property to stay at, it met all my expectations. No smell, comfy bed, clean, minimal bugs enough amenities. I definitely would recommend to friends and family to stay here. I have a few suggestions for the owner to make it even better. Include a little coffee for the morning. We got it late and didn't have time to get coffee on our arrival so the morning was tough. Include conditioner along with the shampoo. Get the sliding glass door rails cleaned and greased. I'm a big guy and it was hard for me to open and close them.

Our unit was simple, clean, and had a fantastic view. We had previously stayed in another unit with an ocean front view in the same resort. What makes this unit unique is the super comfortable furniture on the lanai. You will want to spend all your time lounging and watching the waves. This is a big plus!

Lovely Condo in Kona. Beautiful ocean view from the lanai. We kept the door open all night and fell asleep to the sounds of waves crashing. Short drive or long walk to most restaurants in town. Loved staying there!

The unit is definitely on the water with the waves breaking right in front of the patio. You can't swim in front of the complex because of the lava rocks and shore breaking waves. We were thankfully close enough to town to walk, because parking in town was difficult. Parking at the complex was very limited and we had to park on the road two nights. We enjoyed falling asleep listening to the waves.

This is a lovely low key resort in a great location. The ocean view was unbeatable. The condo is comfortable but could be cleaner. The sliding doors to the balcony are in bad shape and there is a funny odor in the bathroom. We had to call maintenance to unclog the sink.
