Amazing unobstructed view of ocean

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay here at J101 in Mauna Lani terrace. The place was way beyond our expectations. It is hard to judge from photos the quality of a condo rental. This unit was so clean, immaculate and top notch in every way we were pleasantly surprised. Even though you could see the ocean there was literally no foot traffic in front of our unit. The pool was right around the corner to the right ( we never used it). There is a beautiful boardwalk along the ocean to the left of the condo that leads to the clubhouse beach. our building - building J - was the closest building to the clubhouse beach. Pretty nice. A beautiful spot. Lots of free chairs and cabanas. The water was calm in the bay so perfect for swimming. And just a few feet out from the white sand beach, there were lots of coral and fish for some pretty good snorkeling. There is also a hut at the club where you can opt to rent gear or sign up for excursions. The clubhouse also has a bar restaurant with some wonderful food and drinks. If you follow the boardwalk further to the left there are private gated homes and a golf course with a historical ancient fishing rock path. Very beautiful, unexpected and interesting. If you follow the oceanfront to the right of the condo, there is the Mauna Lani beach resort hotel which has its own beach ( not as nice - more rocky) and the resort was under renovations. So we had no neighbors at all on our right. That will obviously change in the future possibly affecting foot traffic. If you continue past the Mauna Lani resort you’ll eventually find the Fairmont Orchid which is another great oceanfront property with a bar restaurant and shops. I can’t say enough good things about this unit or it’s location. It is about 30- 40 minutes north of Kona, so we did have to drive for a couple excursions in kona but honestly you could just opt to schedule excursions out your back Door. We didn’t know that until we arrived at our condo. Also at the entrance of mauna Lani resort there is a beautiful shopping center with some great shops and restaurants and a nice grocery market. So convenient. We ate breakfast at “under the bodhi tree” one morning for a fabulous local organic fruit and grain breakfast. We also had a quick bite another morning at the coffee shop for danishes. And we ate dinner at Tommy Bahama restaurant and rented our snorkel gear at “snorkel Bob’s” - all in the same shopping center. It was wonderful. We highly recommend

We stayed at this unit for a week - my husband and I and our teenage son, and my in-laws. The location is perfect, the directions were clear, and the unit’s furnishings were high end but still felt comfortable and casual. Overall 10/10. We’d choose this unit again.

The original condo we expected had a problem with air conditioning, so Kona offered us a substitute. We didn’t know what to expect, but it was absolutely beautiful. There were ample beach items, absolutely lovely furnishings, an outdoor bar area and room for family members staying at three additional condos at Mauna Lani Estates to enjoy a meal on the outdoor patio Together. The furnishings were lovely and beds were comfortable. We would definitely choose to stay there again.

We loved our stay at the Mauna Lani Terraces! Our unit was loaded with everything we needed and then some!! The updated pool area is wonderful as well as the location to the beach/beach club and restaurants nearby. An unexpected bonus, membership to the sports and fitness center where my husband enjoyed many rounds of pickle-ball as well as lessons while I enjoyed the workout area. We loved it so much, we have booked again for next year. :-)

We had a wonderful stay at J101 — the accommodations were excellent — best location, comfort, and everything we need (except an orange juice squeezer — we will bring one next time, :) --unless you decide to get one). It was a perfect condo for us and we intend to return every year in spring and/or fall (off season) if we can get reservations for two weeks at a time. Thank you also for Kona Coast Vacations excellent service and always immediate response. You are the best! One more thing….Please let the owner know how much I appreciate guest membership in Mauna Lani Club. I like to swim 1.5 miles for exercise and it is too difficult in the ocean, so the club lap pool was so nice — and I did it nearly every day. This addition to the condo makes it especially desirable for me. Mahalo Nui!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this condominium. Fantastic view and location to the ocean. The condominium is very spacious for a family of 4, tastefully decorated and updated. We loved the use of the outdoor kitchen/grills near the pool area as well as the cabana chaise lounges located on the beach We found the Mauna Lani complex to be well maintained and very quiet. All in all a very wonderful relaxing family vacation. Our only negative comment: the kitchen lacks certain staple condiments such as seasonings for those who like to cook!

We have stayed there before. This unit includes two passes to the sports club. A first class gym, tennis and lap pool. The unit was clean and everything worked. A little noise from the family upstairs but no big deal. I will always make the Mauna Lani Terrace my first choice.

Amazing Location!

Amazing location! Loved walking to the Auberge and the beach club. Property management group was wonderful to work with and made everything easy! Property is a little dated but the location makes up for it. There is a grumpy old man on the 3rd floor who does not like children playing outside, we avoided him after one lecture, but owners should be aware he may scare off families from returning.

Unit J101 had everything we needed – most importantly the Cliff Drysdale access. We used it every day!! We absolutely love the Mauna Lani Terrace, the entire area, access to the Auberge, Napua, and of course the Cliff Drysdale complex. Ideally Located

This condo was ideally located with a view of the ponds and ocean, just around the corner but out sight of the lovely pool, and a very short walk to the excellent beach club. This is a beautiful property, and we instantly felt like we were truly on vacation while surrounded by the high ceilinged walls, lovely wooden slatted sliding doors, and generous furnishings. Being able to walk out the lenai door and straight onto the grass and to the ocean was a dream.

It is Okay

It is okay but needs to be updated. We had a little problem getting a needed maintenance problem taken care of. This condo is really good for adults only but is not very family friendly. If you have children be sure to read all the HOA rules. There are very specific rules about playing games on the lawns and playing in the pool. The rules mention things like no Marco Polo in the pool. Seriously, how can you not have games in a pool😬 There is a guy on the top floor of J building that has assigned himself the security guard. All of our family are rule followers but we had a problem with following these.

We rented this condo along with others for the proximity to the beach club. Our family has been coming to Mauna Lani since inception. We were here to spread my husbands ashes. The condo was wonderful. My family felt it was a perfect fit. Everyone was so helpful with check in and out. The condo provided everything that was needed. Couldnt ask for more. Returned to the Big Island after a long time away. Really enjoyed our comfortable accommodations in a lovely spot with views of the beach outside the back lanai. Beautiful, updated decor with an extremely well equipped and organized kitchen. Very good layout for the four of us with the two bedrooms and a large living area in-between. Despite the monumental storm that blew through during our visit, we had a lovely time and hope to return again soon!

Beautifully decorated, well equipped condo in our favorite location with the best snorkeling on the Big Island. Management contacted me before our stay, the day we arrived and mid-week to check that all was OK. A little disappointed that the Mauna Lani hotel was not open yet, but at least most of construction was finished so very little noise. Expensive condo, but worth it if you split with another couple.

Property was even better in person! It was very clean and well appointed. The location was spectacular! The views of the ocean and tropical fish ponds were beautiful! We loved spending time at the beautiful beach just a short walk down the path. Our kids loved stopping along the way to find fish in the ponds. We spent an entire day at the beach snorkeling for hours....we even had 2 sea turtles swim past us. We would come back in a heartbeat! Thanks for an amazing time in paradise!

This is our 2nd year there and, we really enjoyed our stay at Mauna Lani Terrace J101. We love the location. It’s close to the beach club and the pool. We hope to come back next year. We also really like the condo itself. That being said we did have one issue this year. The lock on the front door broke and would not unlock with the key. We had to go in and out through the sliding glass door and leave it unlocked when we were gone. Since this happened early on a Saturday and the locksmith could not come until Monday we had to lock all of our valuables in the car whenever we went to the beach or pool or anywhere.

Mauna Lani Terrace J101 was everything the photos promised and more.The home is beautiful; the location could not be better - peaceful views of the fish ponds and ocean, easy walk to the Beach Club and a pool. The general location is well away from touristy Kailua yet an easy drive to stores, restaurants and activities. Kona Coast Vacations was seamless to work with.
