Stone flooring in main living area and warm colors throughout the rooms provide a relaxing atmosphere. The large backyard features banana, papaya, lime and mango trees.

The large, salt-water pool provides a refreshing retreat from the warm Kona air. You will find ceiling fans throughout the home to keep things cool inside and because this home has solar panels for all electricity the owners are able to provide central air for supplementary cooling during your stay.

Our family rented this property for 10 days over Christmas 2022. It was perfect for our group of 6. There is plenty of space including a massive lanai running down two sides of the house with one side facing the pool. This made for lovely outdoor dining in the evenings and warm, sunny breakfasts in the mornings. The house is very clean and well-appointed with everything you need for your vacation, even some snorkel masks, water shoes, and a couple of beach chairs in the garage and pool noodles, an air mattress, and some toys for the pool. The 2 bathrooms are a bit dated but not a big deal. We had no problems with the TV channels or with Netflix on the house TVs. The TVs also have Prime video, Disney+ and other streaming apps. if you have an account. There are no shops or convenience stores in the immediate area, but the house is an easy drive of less than 10 mins. to all of the shops and restaurants in Kona and less than a 20 min. drive from the airport. We found that there was plenty of paper towel, toilet paper, soap, shampoo, and dishwasher and washing machine tabs for the entire stay, likely a combination of what the property manager provides and what previous guests had left, although we had purchased some of our own supplies anyway. We also appreciated the multi-spice jar and welcome treat basket provided by Kona Coast Vacations. The spices came in very handy over the vacation and meant that we did not have to purchase separate containers of salt and pepper. The pool is quite large and is a fantastic feature of this property to cool off after a day's activities or just to lounge by during the day, although be forewarned that it is very cold! (But we didn't mind and found it refreshing in the tropical sun). Our only criticisms/suggestions for improvement are that there are only 2 pool loungers for a property that sleeps 6, and the clothes dryer had very weak heat such that each load had to be run 2-3 times to dry fully. It likely needs to be replaced. Overall it was a great stay, and we would not hesitate to book this property again.

Terrific! The house and property were very, very nice and while feeling secluded, were conveniently located near town and attractions. There were a few problems that we identified, but nothing serious or detracted from a good time with family. The Kona Concierge was helpful identifying some activities and we actually wished we had used him to book our Mauna Kea trip, as the guide we booked independently through Trip Advisor lacked the necessary permits to complete our drive to the summit. Thanks to Kona Coast Vacations and the property owners for a fine vacation.

Even though we would have enjoyed ourselves with the large clean pool and large covered deck, there were so many activities organized by the concierge around the island, we all agreed it was one of our most enjoyed vacations we've ever had. We were sad to leave.

The location to Al'li drive|Kona and other locations on the island was great. The view of the ocean from the pool was beautiful. If you like to cook you will need to get all the basics including olive oil, spices etc. They provided a nice little gift basket! There are many stores near to purchase groceries and other necessities. Overall - great experience, convenient location and beautiful view. We would like to return!

Perfect for Our Family Getaway

The house in Kona was perfect for our family getaway. On arrival it had great curb appeal and was spotless inside and out. The kitchen had everything we need accept the food! The bedrooms had comfortable beds with plenty of linen. We spent a great deal of our time outside using the BBQ and sitting under the large covered patio near the pool. This was especially nice during evenings when it rained. The pool was clean and refreshing after a day at the beach or exploring the island. We didn't come up with one thing we wish it had, it was all there. Communication with staff at Kona Vacations was prompt and attentive. Due to change in flights we were able to stay late by 1/2 a day so we didn't have to wait at the airport or try to find somewhere to hang out. This was truly appreciated! We will definitely try to stay here on our next visit to Hawaii.

Great Getaway

We came with friends. Some who were first timers to Hawaii. Relaxing area and quiet. That made all the difference to enjoyable evening. The pool was a great reward after a day of playing tourist and the air conditioning a welcome escape from the heat and humidity. A short drive to Kona town. The beds are very comfortable, and we all had good sleeps. The property managers checked in and were really available to answer our questions.

Amazing For Relaxation

It had everything as advertised and doea offer a lot of perks. We had two issues that we feel worth mentioning. The first was the pool wasn't clean upon arrival. There are little worms that crawl in and die and then go to the bottom. The automated pool cleaner wasn't working until we messed with it and within a day the pool was about perfect. Had some minor green film on the walls but not an issue. The other issue one may have is the comfort of the mattresses. We didnt find them to our liking but might just be personal preference. All other aspects of this property are why it has such a high rating. Outdoor space is amazing for relaxation.

This house exceeded our expectations!! We had an absolutely wonderful time. The house itself was beautiful and very spacious but the pool and outside wrap around lanai was the best part! We spent the majority of our days outside at the pool if we weren't at the beach. There were pool toys, beach toys, and beach chairs. The kitchen was well stocked, everything was clean, and if we needed anything the property management was a call away. This was a great place for guests of any age, our group ranged from 1 year old- 66 years old. If we go back to the big island we will definitely stay here again!

The Location Was Perfect!

We can't recommend this property enough! The location was perfect! Just a few minutes drive from downtown Kona, located on a hillside for a beautiful view, very peaceful, with stunning grounds. We enjoyed our mornings taking in the view with a fabulous cup of fresh Kona coffee, our afternoons lounging at the pool while the kids enjoyed the full range of pool toys and our evenings grilling up a delicious meal. The house was completely stocked including an amazing welcome basket filled with local goodies! The beds and linens were very comfortable, the A/C worked great and there were ceiling fans inside and out. We would definitely book this beautiful home again!

We had a great experience at this house. The location was awesome, great view of the water in a gated, quiet community. Went for a walk almost every morning. The house was just as advertised, very clean with all amenities we needed. The backyard was huge. The house and furniture are starting to show age (specifically the main couch and guest bathroom curtain rod) but everything worked. Would definitely stay here again!

We had a wonderful stay at Nakukui Elua in Kahakai Estates! We traveled with our family of 4 (kids 12 and 14) and my parents who are in their 70's.The vacation home was well appointed. Fantastic location, very easy to get on and off the highway for our adventures and close to the heart of downtown. We appreciated how private and quiet the setting was and spent a majority of our down time sitting outside under the covered patio enjoying the scenery and listening to the birds. We would rent this vacation home again in a heartbeat. In my husbands words, “I wouldn't want to stay anywhere else”. Beds were comfortable, kitchen was great for cooking (we enjoy cooking family dinners together so this was a big plus for our family), and the one level setting was ideal for my parents. To our surprise, the master suite and two other bedrooms were on opposite sides of the home - this was ideal for privacy.

Great Time on the Big Island

We had a great time on the Big Island and were extremely pleased with the house on Nakukui. The whole house was spacious, from the living rooms to the bedrooms, there was plenty of space for the entire family. The kitchen had all the amenities needed to prepare countless meals during our stay. The shining star of the house is the outdoor living space, where we spent most of our time. The pool was always clean and the perfect temperature, while the outdoor sofas and tables provided plenty of space for the family to relax and enjoy the amazing Kona weather. This was our 2nd time staying at this property and we plan on staying here every time we visit the Big Island.

We greatly enjoyed our stay at Holualoa! The property was everything described in the listing! We appreciated the open floor plan and space for our family of 6. The house was well stocked with supplies (toiletries, extra soap, extra paper products, dishwasher pods, etc.)! The pool is a wonderful amenity and the outdoor living space is much larger than we anticipated. This area was truly a family favorite, and we enjoyed many meals and fun time outside. This is a hidden gem. The property is secluded in a gated community but close to everything. It is immaculate. You can tell the owners take pride in this property. It is well taken care of, clean, quiet and just an outstanding place to stay with your family. We stayed 7 nights and didn't want to leave. Did I mention the pool? What a beautiful home. Perfect for a nice and relaxing family vacation. The spacious house is in a gated community, very safe, quiet and friendly neighborhood. We loved the huge garden (lovely mango tree). The pool and the outside seating and chill-out area is wonderful. You have a nice view of the ocean and you can watch the most stunning sunsets. We were very satisfied with our stay at this beautiful home. Thanks to your Emails and description the house was very easy to find. We were so excited about the thoughtful welcome gift. What a nice surprise. The house was spotless. We felt immediately comfortable. The kitchen is super equipped and we loved the outside grill. We found plenty of extra towels and bed sheets. During our stay we did not encounter any problems at all, except one of the fire detection alarm systems had a low battery and started to chirp. But other than that it was PERFECT!

We live in Alaska and this was our reward at the end of a long cold, dark winter. The home is tastefully decorated, roomy and comfortable. The kitchen is equipped with everything needed to create delicious meals. The landscaping is beautifully designed to ensure privacy, and listening to the early morning bird song was a lovely way to wake up. Some excursions fell by the way as we relaxed by the pool and soaked in the warm sun and ocean views. The only negative was leaving. Thanks so much for everything!

Stayed at Kona Reef in November and returned again in May Different condo, this was in better condition than the last one. Kona Reef is a great location for walking to Kona. Parking is not always easy so this is better. Hoping to return again soon!!

This place had incredible views. We would wake up every morning to watch the sunrise and listen to the birds make beautiful music. We did not realize their was a mountain to see, some days the clouds hid it from view. What a way to start the day. And the pool was so much fun for our family.The kids had a blast and so did we. We would be in it some mornings before 9 a.m. Everything about this place was wonderful. Great location and stunning views. I wish we could have stayed longer!

Best Vacation Rental Spot

This was my second year staying at the Nakukui Elua and hopefully will be staying there again in 2017. This rental property is the ideal vacation spot. Last year (2016) did all of the tourist hotspots since I had not been to Hawaii for many years, but this year actually stayed at the house more and just had a very relaxing and leisure time away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life and demands.
