World-Class Golf in Waikoloa Fairway Villas
What would you like to do today? Let’s see… will it be golf on one of two world-class courses in the resort area? Or maybe a game of tennis? A workout in the on-site fitness facility? If it’s a bit too hot out for those, then maybe a dip in the pool? If the family fancies a beach trip, then take a walk over to Anaehoʻomalu (A-Bay), where you can rent all kinds of beach gear to play with. There are also glass-bottom boat trips and whale watching cruises available from A-Bay.
Take a Walk to Dinner
There’s no need to drive everywhere if you stay at Fairway Villas. It’s only a short walk to lots of great shopping, groceries, and dining at the Kings’ and Queens’ Shops. You’ll find chain favorites like Romano’s Macaroni Grill and Starbucks, right alongside local picks like Daylight Mind Coffee Pub and the fusion cuisine of Sansei Seafood, Steak, & Sushi Bar. Queens’ MarketPlace also has a great new movie theatre with a built-in restaurant, so you can order food, and have it delivered right to your seat while you watch a movie!
You can also easily take a nice stroll to the nearby Hilton and Marriott hotels, which often host special events worth checking out, and where you can take advantage of the bars, restaurants, and spa services available at those locations. All in all, Waikoloa Beach Resort is a full-service vacation destination!
But Of Course, You’ll Go Exploring
While Waikoloa has everything, you might need for a relaxing vacation, you probably will want to rent a car and make the most of your special time here on the sunny Kona Coast. It’s only a short drive to some of the island’s most spectacular beaches, no matter which way you go along the highway. To the north, there’s Hāpuna Beach, the biggest stretch of white sand to be found on Hawaiʻi Island. Waves usually get bigger throughout the day, so plan your visit accordingly. Morning is best for small children, but don’t worry, there are lifeguards on duty.
If you head south, you can enjoy downtown Kailua-Kona with a walk along Aliʻi Drive, the starting point of the famous Ironman Triathlon. The Kailua Pier is a great spot to hop on a romantic dinner cruise, a dive boat, or even to try parasailing, so think about what kinds of water adventures you’d like to have! If you’d rather stay ashore, you can enjoy checking out the varied souvenir shops and art galleries, or maybe just sample a tropical-flavored ice cream cone while you watch the local canoe clubs paddle out for their afternoon practice. Kailua-Kona is more than just a tourist haven, though: it was a place so loved by Hawaiian royalty that they built some of their homes here. Check out Huliheʻe Palace, summer home of royalty, as well as the fascinating historical art displays and artifacts in the lobby of the King Kamehameha hotel. Take a peek inside Moku‘aikaua Church, the oldest Christian Church in Hawai‘i, and imagine what life was like for the early missionaries here.
Heading further south, you’ll come to the beautiful little coffee towns of south Kona. Stop by one of the many farms and try the famed Kona brew, while you take in the gorgeous views of the coastline below. Consider hopping on a tour boat from Keauhou for some unparalleled snorkeling at Kealakekua Bay. You’ll also find many places to rent kayaks and snorkel gear as you drive south.
The very best part is, at the end of a long day of fun in the sun, you’ll know what a great a comfortable villa awaits you back home at the Fairways Waikoloa. Enjoy a well-deserved rest on your luxury furniture, or maybe a late-night dip in the pool. And start planning the next day’s adventures!
Waikoloa awaits… so what are you waiting for?
