Microbrew lovers, this restaurant near Kona is for you. If you’ve been in any store in Hawai‘i that carries beer, you’ve most likely spotted Kona Brewing Company’s awesome line of handcrafted microbrews. And they didn’t make it into just about every chill case in the state because their beer isn’t good. But Kona Brewing Company is a lot more than great beer. They’re also all about excellent food and fun times. Serving up beer, live entertainment, and mouthwatering food since 1998, Kona Brewing Company and Pub in Kona features a full (and delicious) lunch and dinner menu, freshly brewed beer, nightly entertainment by some of the areas hottest musicians, and brewery tours. Kona Brewing Company prides itself on being green and sustainable, using solar energy to power its brewery, growing on-site gardens with recycled water, and even using leftover fresh grains from their brewery for their homemade pizza dough. They also support local organizations that are committed to sustainability. With prices ranging from $7 to $26, you can have an affordable, excellent meal, some fantastic local beer, a fun time, and support a good cause.
Kona Brewing Company Pub and Brewery in Kona Specialties
We’re not going to beat around the bush. Moreso than other restaurants near Kona, Kona Brewing Company’s main specialty is excellent micro-brewed beer. Fire Rock Pale Ale, Longboard Lager, and Big Wave Golden Ale are their most popular brews and can be found in almost every store in Hawai‘i that carries beer. But they have a much larger two-digit selection than that, including gluten-free brews. If you like their beer, you’re going to love their food. There’s something on their menu for just about every taste. Start off with KBC‘illa Po‘okela, a delicious flatbread quesadilla; sliders, nachos, Kawaihae Cajun Seared Ahi, or Kona Crab Cakes. They have several excellent salads, all made from locally sourced produce. Their sandwiches are amazing and include unique creations such as Porterhouse Dip, Teriaki Chicken Sandwich, Cubano, Imu Pork, Turkey Pesto, and more. Hearty entrees like Portuguese lasagna and pot roast grace Kona Brewing Company’s ample menu, but what they’re best known for – besides beer – is their pizza. There are way too many creative pizza options on their menu to list here, so we suggest you go check it out. You won’t be disappointed.
