Umeke’s Fishmarket Specialties
Besides the names of Umeke’s Fishmarket menu items giving you a crash course in the Hawaiian language and Pidgin, they are also all incredibly good! Pupus, as we call appetizers here in Hawai‘i (eh, stop laughing!) include Uncle Nephi’s Smoke Meat, Umeke’s Poke Balls, and Bomb Trio, a plate of three different kinds of poke. As is traditional in the Islands, many of the entrees are served in bowls and that’s what the dishes are called – Bowls. There’s Da I’a Bowl (fish), Da Pipi (beef), Da ‘Opae (shrimp) Da Moa (chicken), and so on. Umeke’s Fishmarket Bar and Grill in Kona also offer fish tacos, fish and chips, shrimp and vegetable tempura, a host of salads, pork or beef platters, burgers, and much, much more. Three sumptuous multi-course buffet dinners are available ranging from $25 per person to $55 per person. They also offer a Keiki (child’s) menu that goes above and beyond the standard macaroni cheese; there’s good healthy stuff on it that your kids will love!
