Perfect Location For Our Vacation

We booked this condo last minute for our teenagers spring break. Could not get over the views as soon as you walk into the condo. Everything was well appointed for our stay and the management company was friendly and on top of all our needs. Loved the layout with the bedrooms in the back. AC was perfect! I am a home chef and the kitchen had everything we needed for a week stay. Most importantly, the complex was quiet and the perfect location for our vacation. Would definitely stay here again! Loved the condo, thank you.

Thanks for a great stay! To be honest we didn't do much more than sleep here, as we were out most every day, and the condo was more than adequate for our family of four. We enjoyed the beautiful views from the lanai, and the unit was clean, comfortable, and spacious. Air conditioning worked very well. It was a few minutes drive to town and the abundance of restaurants, and close to a good snorkeling beach to the south that we visited on our last morning before heading to the airport (Kahalu'u?). We appreciated and used the snorkeling gear and coolers. Communication was excellent every step of the way.

We enjoyed our stay. The view was wonderful off of the lanai - we watched whales and dolphins every morning - very exciting. We cooked in the kitchen every morning and grilled out by the pool. We got our steps in - going up to the place - but it was worth it for the view. Bathrooms were nicely tiled and very clean. Plenty of space for the 4 us to hang out in. Parking was good. Enjoyed the stay and would stay there again

Overall a very nice stay. The remodel has been done 90%. A few minor finishes missing, but you won't notice without a close inspection. The condo was reasonably well equipped. Pots, pans adequate. The unit is not lived in as there's no spices other than salt and pepper, so expect to purchase supplies if you want to cook. The only real complaint was that the mattresses were super squishy and not supportive. I was tempted to buy one and donate it.

The condo was as expected from the pictures, it has a balcony with a great view for sunsets, dolphins and the Norwegian cruise ship was passing by. The AC in each room was very efficient and useful with the humidity and hot temperatures of those days we were there. The beds mattresses were changed as mentioned by the owner and were comfortable. The kitchen was sufficiently equipped for cooking. Now on the downside, the second shower was very small. The bedrooms windows do not close hermetically so we hear everything outside. There are no curtains on the windows so the hallway outside lights illuminated the room during the night and of course as soon as the sun rises it was very clear so it was a bit difficult to sleep for people who need it darker. We did not have enough dishwasher detergent for the duration of our stay. Finally, it would be a lot better to equip it with boogie boards…..

Location and view are great and new renovation inside is nice. But the walls are very thin and you can hear neighbors on both sides. The beds are terrible and mattresses old as the unit. The worst part was the lack of blinds on the window that let constant light in from the hallways. I had to cover the external hall lights with foil to sleep. Just kind of lazy management IMO.

Perfect from Beginning to End

Stayed here for 11 days! All we could say is that it was perfect from beginning to end! The condo had everything we needed! we were told it came with some basics to get you started, but it was honestly enough to last our stay! It was also stocked with bath towels and beach towels as well! There were beach chairs for us to use but those definitely need some updating. There was 4 of them but one was broken and couldn't be used and it was a full lounge chair that was too big to carry to the beach. When I inquired about it when we were there, I was told the chairs were not something that was guaranteed to be included and most were left from previous guests. Even if that is the case, it's a small investment for the owner to make so guests can have them to use. We were 4 people and only had 3 chairs to use. There also should be towel bars in the hallway bathroom like the ones on the door in the master bath. There is no place to hang your towels in the hallway bathroom, but a small towel bar next to the sink which is too small. The master bath had plenty of towels racks behind the door and some hooks as well. Same should be in the second bathroom, especially when 4 people are visiting the condo, The kitchen was perfect, with everything you needed to cook! A bigger garbage pail could be used as well, especially since they provided garbage bags which were for a much bigger garbage pail. The condo was air conditioned which was delightful! worked perfectly and there is one in both bedrooms and the living room! They kept the condo cold and comfortable! It was nice especially since we spoke to many guests who didn't have air conditioning! We could have never done it without air conditioning! We had a few maintenance issues which were taken care of immediately, which was very nice! As soon as we called, they were at the condo immediately! The condo was spotless when we arrived! All in all we couldn't have picked a better place to stay! We so look forward to visiting again!

Such a lovely location right on the ocean. Condo is super clean and as a bonus it's air conditioned as well. A unit to cool the living spaces and a unit in each room, all work really well to cool down the whole condo. But when the evening comes we would open the lanai and let the cool ocean breeze in. Check-in was great and communication was simple and ample with the property management. The location is just off the beaten path but close enough to walk into “town”. It's a super quiet condo and since it is on the 3rd floor we had no upper noise, bonus! However, one small detail that may effect your stay is the fact it is on the 3rd floor so no elevator. That didn't take away from our wonderful stay for us as a family but I could see it being a problem for some as luggage and groceries can get heavy after a while of up and down. All and all, this condo is a really nice with spectacular views and we enjoyed our stay immensely.

We would 100% stay here again. Here are Pros and Cons to consider: 1. Check in was a lag (we were not contacted with instructions about the unit number or door code, but the community grounds are beautiful, so we didn't mind waiting while we contacted someone on the phone) 2. There is AC ONLY in the open concept living room/kitchen. 3. The 2 bedrooms/2 baths are def WARM/HOT. All fans must be kept on at all times - even then, it's still hot during the day. (We're from Phoenix, so we really don't consider the bedroom/bath temps a deal breaker) 3. This is a 3rd floor unit. No elevators. 4. Basic hygiene items are provided (bar soaps, shampoo, towels) 5. Beach gear is provided (Beach chairs, towels, water shoes, snorkel gear, bamboo mats, big and small coolers, even fishing gear) 6. The VIEW from Lanaii....IS....AMAZING....!! To emphasize: Overall Rating - we would stay here again! 😀😀😀

It was truly a great place to stay - It could have been a little more updated however I think the price would be much higher. I would 100% stay here again - It was a great spot to see the city at night and see the sealift during the day. I really hope we can book this same condo in the future. Oh, and there is a yummy coffee place really close.

Easy to rent and check in. Bathrooms have been remodeled and look great. Nice appliances. Couch a little uncomfortable. TV took awhile to figure out. Maybe a bigger air conditioner but it did help cool the front room in the afternoon. Lots of fans! Clean and well stocked with kitchen utensils plates etc.

Loved listening to the waves and watching the dolphins from our balcony. The space was perfect for a family of four. The living room had lots of space for hanging out. Kitchen was fully stocked with everything you need for cooking. Really appreciated having beach accessories in the apartment, such as cooler, noodles, boogie board. We spent every afternoon in the complex pool!

We likes this place - it was clean, stocked adequately, and great views. One day we even had an entire SCHOOL of dolphins swim by the condo - right in front of our lanai! Location was good - providing easy access to the things we wanted to do and see. While it was within walking distance of the Kona town area, we opted to drive (I didn't measure it - but probably a mile or so). Overall - we are happy we stayed here, and one positive I should also mention is that they have a concierge who contacted us early on and offered to help us make reservations at various attractions, like the Manta Ray night dive. That service was very thoughtful, and nicely done. Dave did the scheduling for us, and saved us that work. We found that the AC unit in the living area really didn't help cool things too much, so we turned it off and set up fans (they had plenty of them) to move the air from the bedrooms into the main living area and out the door - which helped a lot. A couple negatives: We have stayed in VRBO condos before, and while this was really nice, the privacy on the lanai isn't what some others have been - we could see our neighbor lanais both left and right, and below - a little privacy barrier would have been nice, but that is in the design/layout, and too late to change that. Not terrible, but I like a bit more privacy. The photo they show in the listing was taken from the door to the lanai, not on the lanai. The fees and taxes are high compared to other listings - and while that information is not hidden, it's important to take note. After staying in this place we moved down the coast to a house with a private pool, right on the ocean. It was a splurge at a much higher cost per night, but in looking back, if you add all the taxes and fees to the cost of this place, it brought the two costs per night a lot closer. Clearly a business has to pay taxes that a privately owned property may not, but it's hard to compare apples and oranges if you are just looking at the cost per night (which is generally our first filter for looking deeper at a property). It would be easier to compare if their price per night included all the fees except the cleaning fees, since those appear to be listed separately for all the places we stayed. We stayed at 4 different VRBO places on this 3.5 week trip to Hawaii - deciding it was better to separate our trip into quadrants rather than try to drive everyone from one location (it IS a big island, after all).

This unit was very large and comfortable. The service was wonderful - when we realized 2 chairs were missing from the balcony, they were brought within a couple of hours. The kitchen was well stocked and the view from the balcony is amazing. We saw dolphins in the bay and a couple of whale spouts. You cannot swim in the ocean from the unit due to high surf and rocky access, but the pool is warm. Date of Stay: 1/6/18 to 1/13/18

In short we wont be looking for another place to rent on our next visit unless this one is unavailable....... and more likely try plan our trip around the dates available WE were a little nervous about renting this unit at first because there were no reviews.... i guess because there were no complaints the unit was very clean well located & well supplied The beds were all comfortable with no indentations we enjoyed the steady ocean breeze this time of the year..... no air condition required. Kona Coast Vacations was a dream too deal with...... our main interaction was over the email and they left us without a single question or concern on our arrival.... If there name is connected to a rental you are considering I would suggest you google there company & Chq out the reviews One of the best decisions of this trip was using the concierge that was included with this unit..... in our case his name was David and he went way beyond the call of duty to help make our trip memorial. one thing we discovered on this trip was the value of pre-booking...... we didn't have to waste time once we arrived on our holiday and we were able to book every event we wanted before they were sold out The complex has 4 or 5 barbecues that are in good condition and fed with natural gas so you will never run out. The apartment is great, with a beautiful view, and well localized. It has all utilities that you may need and a very well equipped kitchen. They also have several guides to the island.

There was no air conditioning the home, so it did get very warm in the home as well as at night, however there were extra fans in the home that we used which made it much easier to manage the humid heat. There was a situation that involved a pest. Kona Coast was very responsive and came to the home immediately after I called to notify them. They were very warm and offered to expense some damage that was made to personal belongings. Overall, we were pleased with the stay. Date of Stay: 9/3/17 to 9/6/17
