This is our second stay at Surf and Racquet and first time in this unit. It was perfect. Beautiful lanai with corner views, well appointed kitchen, and comfortable bed. The location is great, a bit up from the traffic and noise of Kona but close that's it's an easy drive away. We will be back!

This is our fifth trip to the Big Island. Unit 1206 was outstanding, and met all of our expectations. It was well appointed from high end furnishings to gourmet kitchen cookware and appliances. The view is amazing, the sunsets golden, and Sunrise met with tropical birds singing with the crash of the ocean in the background. Truly spectacular in every way. Our friends joined us for 8 days from the mainland. Plenty of room for 4 adults to spread out and have our own space. Everything on the island can be reached in a day trip, Volcano, Hilo, Waimea, Waikaloa, South Point, Green Sand Beach, Black Sand Beach, Painted Church, etc. Pack a lunch using the nice coolers provided and ice packs in the freezer! Throw in the provided beach chairs and umbrella if you wish! Kona is only a few minutes away where you'll find dining, shopping, Magic Sands Beach, Ka'haluu Beach for snorkeling, and more. Day trips for island hopping to Oahu, (Pearl Harbor) and Kauai are an easy drive to the airport just 30 minutes away.We will definitely stay at this unit again and look forward to the comfortable beds, gentle breezes, and dolphins playing in the background. Aloha Nui Loa to the owners that share this beautiful property.

This review is of the surf & Racket Club Unit 1206. This is our 3rd time staying there. This time we did the entire island to include Hilo. The unit is directly on the water and exquisitely appointed and clean. Every day we would open all windows and sliders and the breeze was unbelievable. You can see some of the pics of the unit on line but they do not do the unit the justice it deserves IMHO. We have seen other units on the property but this one is truly exceptional. Additionally, we use the community grills to make lunches & dinners which contribute to the relaxing experience. For us, not having to get dressed up and drive somewhere or like Kona and pay $30.00 to park while eating dinner is worth it. Just a small walk from the Surf & Racket club you can experience some of the best snorkeling on the island. Yellow tang, Uni, and other colorful fish are abundant there. No snorkeling gear, no problem, they can be rented there along with lessons for surfing and boarding. Also, a great beach to swim is within walking distance 3.5 miles (for those like us that exercise often) or a small drive with free parking. Finally a close shopping center has a TKA grocery store, many different restaurants (the pizza place is amazing) to choose from if the drive to Kona is not something you do every day. We will return there every other year as we have in the past.

We loved staying here! Beds comfy, kitchen well stocked, quiet resort, and great communication with Kona Coast Vacations who manage the property! Highly recommend if you want to enjoy the Kona area!

The property was exactly like the description. Everything was beautiful as expected. The only thing i would say that they could improve was the table and chairs on the deck are really tall and tough to sit at for a long period of time. Also i should have read the reviews about not having air conditioning, it got a bit warm a couple of nights. Otherwise we had an exceptional time!!!

With amazing snorkeling only minutes away and restaurants nearby as well this place is everything you want in a vacation property! After 3 weeks we are finding it hard to leave!

The apartment is spacious. It is very tastefully decorated. The view is outstanding. Shower wonderful. Washing machine and drier superb. Very comfortable and large bed. We loved the bamboo curtains. Balcony area is lovely to sit and eat and drink watching and listening to the sea. Location very convenient but you need a car. Parking is good. Communication with the management company excellent. We will be back!

Great location with beautiful views of the sun setting on the ocean. Property listing is very accurate. Very clean and comfortable place. Listened to the waves crash against the shore all night from the master bedroom. The only thing I would change is I wish the property had air conditioning. There were a few days it got kind of muggy in the condo and AC would of been nice. Over All beautiful property with great property management. We would definitely stay here again.

The property was exactly as advertised. Clean, modern, peaceful and it was exactly what we were looking for. It had a great location. Close to plenty of things to do. The snorkeling literally one minute down the road was the best we have experienced in Hawaii. I would stay here again without hesitation. There was one detail that should have gotten a note in the description. The unit does not have air conditioning. This was not a problem but it would have been nice to know in advance. A couple of nights were quite warm.

We like to cook! The kitchen in this condo was amazing in terms of having everything you would have at home to cook. The owners of this property took the time to stock their kitchen with all the necessary utensils, pans/pots, wine glasses, nice serving bowls (no plastic!). Thank you! We stayed for 5 days, my husband and I, with our two 17 year old boys. We all enjoyed our stay very much! Kona Coast Vacations were great to deal with. The condo has everything you could need and the Keauhou shopping center is only 2 min away for groceries & drugstore. The condo is beautiful, although more weathered than the listing photos show and the carpets & sofa really need to be cleaned, they are smelly, but the amazing view makes up for that! The sunsets we had were spectacular!! Afternoons at the pool chatting with the different visitors and residents was fun!

We enjoyed our staying at this condo! Amazing view of the sunset every afternoon, very clean. Kitchen has everything you need to cook. There is no air conditioning but it was not a problem at all because all rooms including the bathrooms have a fan. Walking distance to the beach and shopping. We will definitely come back and recommend this beautiful place to family and friends!

This is our third time staying in this condo. Reasons we love this place and come back: sunsets every night on the lanai, 24/7 peaceful ocean waves with the occasional dramatic pounding, ceiling fans in every room to stay cool, spacious open floor plan, quiet (especially compared to the crowded resorts), it's clean, all the basics are provided. We do some sight seeing but are also perfectly content just hanging out here.

Surf and Racquet 1206 Is a great place to stay water & sunset views are excellent apartment was great everything you need for a memorable stay. No a/c but great breeze so not required. Surf and Racquet 1206 Was clean , beds were excellent and kitchen had everything required. Mahalo Kona Coast vacations we will be back.

Our first trip to the big island and we loved our stay here. This is a very clean and comfortable unit. The lanai is fabulous and we'd love to return. You are close to neighbors, which can be a factor since it's a windows open type environment, but the unit feels as secluded as can be given proximity to others and it wasn't an issue for most of our time there.

Incredible place. Way nicer than what I normally stay at. If my girlfriend gets used to this level I'm in big trouble! Kitchen was really well stocked with quality pots, pans, knives, etc and not cluttered with unnecessary extras. The only slight downside with the condo is the doors between the bedrooms don't provide any sound insulation, so if you have snorers or particularly enthusiastically romantic folks in your group you have to account for this. Swimming in the ocean in front of the condo requires good knowledge and experience with the ocean. I jumped in from the rocks directly in front of the condo to go freediving, and while out there I ended up having to help rescue an open water swimmer who got pulled out in a rip current from the beach on the north side of the property.

Nice comfortable place. Very roomy with great outdoor space. Positives: nice kitchen appliances and we cooked often, sunsets from lanai were beautiful, good location to some open restaurants and supermarket. Nice to have clothes washer and dryer. Negatives: we were on 2nd floor and we could hear footsteps and furniture moving in early hours (4 am 1 morning) from 3rd floor guests. This happened 6 mornings out of 14 mornings because of frequent guest turnover. All in all it was a great visit and we would come back.

This property is beautifully decorated and is well appointed with all the amenities needed for a wonderful stay. The views from the living area and lanai are amazing. We spent many of hours relaxing on the loungers watching the boats pass by the complex and ate most of our meals at the lanai table. The sunsets are directly in front of the property so you have a front row seat for great pictures.. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. Thank you!

Excellent view of the ocean from the balcony. Very open floorplan with lots of windows and doors to create a perfect flowing breeze throughout the house. The kitchen has everything that might be needed if you plan to stay in and cook. The location is also close driving distance to other food options and a store if needed. Great place to use as a base point for daily trips or just stay and relax.

My husband and I got married while in Hawaii and stayed with our guests at another property for the first leg of our trip. After the wedding we selected this property for the "honeymoon" portion of our trip. The property is exactly as pictured, very clean, detailed instructions on how to use everything in the condo and a view to die for! Morning coffee on the lanai before heading out on our adventures was our favorite part. I would recommend this property in a heartbeat!

We loved our two week stay at Keauhou Kona Surf & Racquet Club. It was the perfect location to visit all the beautiful beaches on the west side of the island. We mainly spent our time snorkeling at Two Step, Kahalu'u and Kealakekua Bay, but also played some Pickleball on the courts at the condo. We cooked many nights in our well-appointed kitchen after a day out on the water. Highlights of our trip were the Manta Ray night snorkel at Keauhou Bay, Spinner Dolphins at Kealakekua Bay, Green Sea Turtles at Kukio Bay and a rare Hawaiian Monk Seal sighting near Kealakekua Bay. It was a fantastic experience. Thank you!

This place was wonderful. Just the right size for the 4 of us. The location on the water was breathtaking. Even when washing the dishes you can get distracted by the view of the ocean. The access to the pool, tennis courts and beach were all so close. We'd gladly stay here again. It's a place to really unplug and relax.

First class accommodation, with all the things you could want. The only thing I would recommend is replacing the elevated wooden table and bar chairs on the lanai. A lower table without the mildew would be preferred for eating out there.

Our group of 4 adults enjoyed our stay here. The view of the ocean is beautiful and we enjoyed the Lanai every morning and evening. Good location with easy access to restaurants and activities. There is no air conditioning in the unit - it was a bit muggy the first night, but cooled down with fans and open windows. We would absolutely stay here again!

This stunning and beautifully located holiday home provided us with a restful and homely stay during our visit to Kona. We blissfully watched from the deck as the sunset over the Pacific Ocean every day, and fell asleep each evening listening to the relaxing sounds of waves crashing against the rocks. The condo was exceptionally tidy and beautifully furnished, with a functional kitchen decked out to prepare any kind of meal you desire. Information provided was most helpful in identifying places to eat and see, and really clear. We had such a wonderful time during our stay, hiking and exploring, visiting local monuments and becoming acquainted with local culture. We highly recommend Kona Coast Vacations and this condo as an ideal location for a small family, or one even two couple. Our holiday was truly blissful holiday the Kona Coast condo home we were so lucky to stay within made it that much more unbelievable.

We stayed at the Keauhou Surf and Racquet Club unit 1206. It is one of the most beautiful units we have ever rented. Just as pictured and described. The ocean view was incredible from the living room and master bedroom. Just loved sitting on the lanai and relaxing. Unit was very clean, organized and well stocked. It was also nice to have a washer and dryer in the unit. We had everything that we needed for a lovely vacation. Bed and pillows were comfortable, towels were nice quality. Dave the concierge was very helpful with booking a tour for us and with information about things to do and restaurants nearby. There is no air conditioning but there was always a nice breeze and ceiling and floor fans on the days that it was a little warm. We would not hesitate to rent this unit again and recommend it to anyone looking to stay in this area.

Condo is beautiful inside. Outside property is very nice and well maintained but a little dated. Pounding surf noise is fantastic. Bring a frisbee or badminton racquets... community grassy area right outside (although you can’t hear or see anything other than ocean and surf from the unit). Great kitchen. Easy access to shopping. Feels very safe with gated access to parking. Pool area is clean and the Hawaii sun is magical. Although I never did contact them, the property manager was terrific about getting me information on the condo (and things to do and see on the big island). They seemed eager to assist me if there was anything we needed. Walk north of the condo project and there’s a path to a public beach with sea turtles and some ancient Hawaiian rock structure. 15 minute drive to the Captain Cook monument trailhead if your looking for a good hike (not too easy to get back up). 5 minute drive to the Kona Country Club if you’re looking to golf. We enjoyed the location... far enough away from the crowds of Kona and magic sands but a quick drive to town when we wanted. No negative surprises. The pictures are a good representation of what you get... except the ocean view and the noise of the pounding surf which can’t be captured in a picture. Beautiful.
I definitely plan on returning & that says ALOT!

The unit is spectacular. The layout is perfect, the view and the balcony spacious, the decor is modern and comfortable. The location is prime for all of Kona. The concierge service provides connected us with a great dolphin snorkel tour operator & the property management was great at communicating important updates. They even called to see if I needed anything after checking in. When I told them the refrigerator filter was flashing that it needed replacing, they fixed it at our convenience. The beach gear was very useful. I definitely plan on returning & that says ALOT! Mahalo for a Memorable stay!

We had a lovely 2 weeks at Kahaluu Bay, Surf and Racquet Club. The condo is extremely well equipped for cooking. Bedrooms are both very comfortable, nice to have 2 king beds. Lanai has great views of the sunsets. We would certainly rent this condo again.

We have stayed in many different units at Surf and Racquet over the years, and this is one of the nicest units. The owners have upgraded the kitchen and bathrooms very nicely, and have provided very comfortable furniture and beds. We love the location of the unit because it's on the corner and has great views.

Great apartment (the kitchen was better than at home) and you are right at the sea. We (a couple and a 10 year old child)even could watch dolfins while having breakfast. The concierge David is very helpful.

Great accommodation and view. The amenities were also very inclusive and communication with the host was excellent and quick. I appreciated the small touches like washing soap for clothes and handy notes here and there within the rental unit. Everything was clean and orderly upon arrival. We did a lot of searching for a Condo in the general Kona area. We kept coming back to this unit and made our decision. We are so happy we did. The pictures are an accurate representation of the property, if fact it's nicer than shown. Perfect location right on the water for a beautiful view and the sound of the waves. We only experienced one maintenance issue (minor in nature). In the master bath the dual power switch for the overhead fan and it's light did not work. We reported this but it did not get fixed before we checked out. Other than that, everything else was wonderful. We plan on coming back in the future. Highly recommended.

View and location of the apartment are wonderful: you can hear the waves in your sleep. Decorated with a lot of taste and excellent materials, the place is equipped with everything you need for a great holiday: boogie-boards, snorkeling gear and beach chairs plus beach towles. Great! In the kitchen there is every kitchen utensil and gadget you can think off available - a veritable gourmet kitchen. It feels more like a home, than a flat for rent. The garden and pool are immaculately cared for, parking is right in front of the building. We would certainly like to come back and can highly recommend the apartment. Thanks for sharing this exceptional flat.

We liked this condo best of the three VRBOs we rented on different parts of the Big Island this trip -- finishes were high-end, it was the cleanest by far, best mattress(!), most convenient to shops, and falling asleep to the surf sounds was wonderful (vs our rental above Waipio Valley where the frogs made a deafening clamor ALL night!) Sometimes photos can mask wear and tear, but not in this case -- it was even better than the pics. Would book again in a minute even though it broke the budget -- if we had another 30th anniversary to celebrate!

Fabulous 2-week stay at Surf and Racquet 1206! Kitchen was top notch for preparing meals. We donated a muffin pan to the bakeware selection. Really appreciate the beach accessories in the deck box (i.e. chairs, mats, boogie boards, snorkel gear). The place was spotless upon arrival. Very comfortable beds and luxurious linens. A few picky things: could use more paper products upon arrival (paper towels, TP, napkins), a few burned out light bulbs, kitchen faucet leaked, so water accumulated under the sink and the lanai most definitely could use a couple of ceiling fans. None of these little things, however, should keep you from booking this place. It is gorgeous! A BIG thanks for a wonderful stay on our first trip to the Big Island! Mahalo!

Apartment was in top condition. Everything was clean and high end appliances. We really enjoyed our stay. Pool was being renovated which was a shame but overall great stay. Kona does get quite hot but we were provided with lots of fans.
