Aloha Kona Coast Vacations! We had a fabulous time staying at Surf and Racquet 52 for a week. The grounds were maintained beautifully. The pool was fabulous and the temperature of the water was absolutely perfect. Although we didn't use the tennis court because we were too busy exploring the island it too looked very nice and all the equipment was in the condo to play if we wanted too. We loved that the condo was stocked with all kinds of extras which made our trip even more memorable. It was nice having pool towels, snorkeling gear, flippers, water shoes, beach chairs, a cooler and even an umbrella plus lots of other items in the downstairs closet. We used almost all of it daily to our many trips to the nearby beaches. The kitchen was well thought out. Everything was right there for cooking a nice meal and the outdoor BBQ's were nice too. We enjoyed the AC's, comfy beds and nice showers after a long day out. The TV's were also nice and they provided plenty of good DVD movies as well. It's very close to everything, downtown, shopping, movie theater, ice cream, subway, gas station and restaurants. We highly recommend this place to anyone wanting a relaxing getaway. The furniture was all very inviting and comfy too. This place is a real gem. The beach is literally described as being about 150 steps from the lanai and that is very true. We could hear the ocean waves from the patio but it was also positioned very conveniently by the pool too and an extraordinary banyan tree to look at the minute you walk out the front door. We are looking forward to booking this place again on our next trip. We can't wait to come back. We didn't find any boogie boards in the condo but that was ok because our family was staying in #5 and they had 2 so my boys still got to go boogie boarding which is something they were really looking forward too. We did purchase and leave a few items such as a life vest, bag of sand toys and a large green floaty in the downstairs closet for the next family or guests to enjoy. Mahalo! From the Greer Family

We really enjoyed this property and would use again. It was clean and comfortable, washer and drier in unit, the parking is directly in front of the front door, nice back patio area. Kona Coast is very communicative. The location is good, really close to the Sheraton where the mantas hang out.

My husband and I enjoyed our two-week visit to the Big Island in December. The accommodations were very nice and comfortable. The location was perfect. It's convenient to downtown Kailua (about 4 miles away, so not in the craziness), adjacent access to the ocean (unit has beach chairs) and 1/2 mile to the Keauhou shopping center with full grocery store and several restaurants. We watched the most amazing sunsets each night on the beach. The owners provides beach chairs and many other amenities to enjoy your stay. The facility grounds were very nice and had great amenities. Great location, property and town home.

We enjoyed our stay. Loved the beach chairs, umbrella, towels, boogie boards, and more! Made our beach days even better! Kitchen was really well equipped! Would have liked a few basics like olive oil and salt and pepper but I get that stuff can be hard to keep track of in a rental. We did not use the amenities at all, too busy exploring the island, but the property was nice overall. Thanks for a great week!

We loved this condo, the complex, and the location. This was a fantastic value! There were 4 of us, my wife and two teenage daughters. They loved having their own room with two beds and having 2 bathrooms made getting ready a no-fuss ordeal. Air conditioning worked well for a great night's sleep. Another reviewer said 150 steps to the beach is a stretch, but I counted it off and it may even be a few less! (I guess it depends on your stride). There is a great grocery store just a half mile away that we frequented. Be sure to check out the beach at low tide. There are amazing crystal clear tide pools filled with beautiful fish and interesting sea creatures.

Condo well appointed and good beds. Floors not clean however even though we didn't wear shoes inside. In case it's important to anyone, both bedrooms upstairs while one of the bathrooms is downstairs. Condo would benefit from grab bars in the showers.

Comfortable and Well Stocked

We had a great stay at this unit. It is a comfortable & well stocked place for a family of four (2 adults and 2 kids), immaculately clean (except your feet turns black after walking for half hour barefooted on the floor. I highly recommend to bring indoor slippers with you) and a great location in Kona / Keauhou area - close to Kahaluu Beach, Keauhou Bay, Kona town, supermarket & golf course. Also, communication with host was extremely easy. I would book again.

The property was in an excellent location. It also had a decent beach for snorkeling while the other 1/2 played in the pool! The girls enjoyed the tennis courts as well! The townhouse was supplied with everything you would need from cooking a meal at home, to tennis, lawn chairs, picnic on the beach! The only thing I would recommend would be a hotel safe, as house keepers were in the place while we were gone. Other than that it was perfect! We enjoyed our stay and can't wait to come back!

What a great unit, the layout of the condo was suburb for a family and hosting other guest during our stay. All the extra little things made our stay even more enjoyable. The accomodation was perfect in size with 2 bedrooms and 3 beds total. It had everything needed to cook own meals. The resort had a great pool and is located on the shore line which was awesome for sunset photos. Definitely recommend this place!

Worked out Fine

The smell of cleaning solutions is never a good introduction, but the space is adequate. Given that they ask you to remove shoes, you'd expect a clean floor. But after an hour of walking around the downstairs, our feet were turning black. Other than a huge roach in the upstairs bath, everything else worked out fine. The beds are smaller than hoped, a bit flimsy, and the cable went out twice in our 4 days, but the A/C and all other appliances were good.

All around Great Stay!

This unit is well appointed so definitely stop here before doing your shopping to see what you'll actually need first. I've stayed at places where you even had to bring your own slat and pepper because they clear out everything between visits but here they had spices and cleaning products and such available. The unit was clean and comfortable and we ate multiple meals on the lanai daily. Water pressure in at least the lower level shower was beyond impressive. The kids used the upstairs shower and had no complaints so I assume it was a similar experience. There were chairs, boogey boards, snorkel gear, tennis and ping pong equipment available as well. We did add 2 sets of snorkel gear as my youngest didnt have a set that fit her well and one of the fins my wife tried had a broken strap so we just got 2 more sets. Pretty much everything you are looking for in the unit and location. Pool, grills, tennis court, ping pong table were all in good shape and clean. The main beach to the right facing the ocean was great for tide pooling at lower tide, watch out for the urchins further down...they are abundant. Great location for sunsets as well. We saw turtles in the water pretty much every time we walked down there too. If you have one of those pocket hammocks, there are multiple locations along that beach to hang one or more, wish I'd grabbed mine. The park a half mile up the road was good for snorkeling and the kids did take surf lessons there as well. The KTA grocery store is just over a half mile up the hill at a decent sized shopping center and met all our needs there and had a nice Shave Ice shop next door. this location is on the south end of Kona outside the main hustle and bustle but its a short and scenic drive up Ali'i to even more parks/restaurants/shops. Not much more to say other than an all around great stay.

We loved staying in this unit. The air conditioning was fantastic, the unit was immaculate, the complex grounds are well manicured, the pool was very very nice, and the tennis courts very enjoyable. We love that within a five minute drive was a great little beach park with fantastic coral reefs and very nearby was a shopping plaza complete with a grocery store. Our only concern is there is a bit of an ant situation going on both in the Kitchen and in the master bedroom. When we called the management company they did immediately send somebody out with some ant traps and I appreciated them addressing our concerns but I do think a bit more effective job of exterior extermination would be beneficial. Well at all though we would definitely consider staying at this location again if our travels ever find us back on the Big Island.

Beautiful setting of the condo, like a botanical with pool and tennis courts. Great location, walking distance from one of the best snorkeling beaches on the island, or surfing for beginners. Nice condo, spacious rooms. Kitchen is fully equipped and there is some beach gear available as well.

The condo was nice. It was equipped well enough for cooking. We appreciated all the outdoor stuff that was there for us to use when going to the beaches. The only thing that was convient & bothersome was having the trash and recycle right outside the patio....it could be a bit noisy. We understate your need for constant maintenance of the grounds but that can be a bit noisy too. All in all we enjoyed our stay and would come again. We didn't communicate with the property manager once we we there, but before arrival communications were good.

We were very pleased with our stay at #52. The townhouse is well equipped and has many amenities available. We appreciated having AC available. Beach chairs, boogie boards, an an ice chest were very nice bonus items available for our use during our stay. The Kitchen is well equipped and functional. Suggestions for the owner would be additional blankets available for each bed. The master/queen bed did have a blanket, but none available for the twin beds. Beds are made with a sheet and light sheet coverlets which felt like you only had a sheet on and nothing else. Even though it’s plenty warm in Hawai’i, it’s more of a comfort issue when sleeping. We loved having a washer and dryer available, but would recommend a small laundry basket for carrying laundry down and up the stairs. We would recommend this townhouse in general. It has a nice patio for outdoor dining which we used daily.

Although a little outside Kailua town, I didn't mind at all. The addition of Keauhou shopping center is helpful. The condo was just perfect for the 3 of us. Another group that came up with us was in a similar condo with 5 adults and 1 child and fit fine. We will definitely check out this property when we return.

This property is great. There are two nice bedrooms, and two full baths. The unit is an end unit, which provides extra ventilation. The unit has snorkeling gear and beach chairs available. The property has Hawaiian historical sites on it, a really good ocean access, with a fun area to jump into. We would book again.

Excellent location, perfect pool and wonderful tennis. Also close to great snorkeling, nice walks and the shopping mall for quick groceries and amenities! Perfect area to stay on the island and our second time here at this wonderful place.

Great location - but the best was the easy of making it happen. Great communication, instructions and foresight meant more time enjoying Hawaii and less on the Adm burdens of the rental.

Nice, comfortable spot near the ocean and walking distance to a good snorkeling beach. Plenty of beach gear in the closet and the AC in each of the rooms was great and much-needed. Nice pool for kids. Responsive to questions. Great hosts and great place!

Wonderful stay

We had a wonderful stay at Surf and Racquet # 52. It was an amazing Condo Home that was super plus and super clean and well equipped with everything needed. Very well and centrally located in Kona and was close to getting everywhere we wanted to go. Perfect for a couple or family also ~! JUST DO IT ~!

Close to many attractions, plus walking distance to its own beach. Loved to walk there for amazing sunset photos. Hosts also provided beach chairs, umbrellas, coolers etc. They all came in very handy.

Townhouse was very clean and well-maintained. Great location. Not hard to find. Grounds are beautiful, pool is very kid friendly. Short drive to downtown Kona for shopping and amazing food. I was pleasantly surprised how well stocked the townhouse was. Tons of shower and beach towels. Plenty of toilet paper that lasted us all week. Kitchen is well stocked with everything you need to prepare meals, even cooking oil and spices. Stairs to the 2nd floor are a little steep, but doable. The downstairs water heater closet has beach toys such as boogie boards and beach chairs. There is an ice chest on the back porch. I found a drawer full of water shoes on the last day we were there, located under the bench next to the front door. You might want to add details in the listing about the beach toys and water shoes. Would definitely stay there again!

We had an excellent stay. The condo was perfect and just like being at home. It was fully equipped with everything you would need for your stay. Kona Coast was very accommodating and extremely organized and professional. I would recommend them for your stay in Kona.

Great location at the very end of Ali'i drive....gated community with good pool area and a quiet atmosphere. KTA market just up the road for snacks and groceries.... along with some restaurants and shops. Condo is fantastically outfitted kitchen wise.. we mostly cooked in due to dietary needs and the abundance of fresh fruits and produce... the space is very comfortable. Bedrooms are booth up a short flight of stairs along with a full bathroom including a tub. One bath with a walk-in shower is downstairs.. nice lanai with resident geckos to watch! Short stroll down to the shoreline to watch the sunset.. no access to a beach, but that's not a big deal for us, as we like to explore the lovely beaches here. FYI , air conditioning costs $25 a day extra..and must be paid for for the entire time after it's activated. This was a first for me...& this is my 15+ trip to Kona. I understand that electricity is expensive and perhaps this is a new thing. We skipped it and just ran the fans.. only time it was problematic was sleeping...& really only two nights. All in all I give this place a thumbs up!!

Air con would have made our stay better, a list of cupboard items would have save us over $30.00 from buying beach items that were in the down stairs closet. Once we found our way the location was central to what we needed. The direction to the property were very concise, Thanks for that.

Overall, the stay was fabulous. However, my friends/family were distressed there wasn't any air conditioning in the condo. It seemed to get very hot during the day and took some time to cool off at night.

Beautiful spot right next to the beach! Definitely would stay here again, and recommend this property. The location was great in vicinity to everything that we wanted to do on our trip. We mostly went scuba diving, so the location was really close to some great spots. The apartment is beautiful and very clean. Great amenities, and wonderful back porch to have meals every day.

Perfect for Us

This was our second time renting this condo and it was once again perfect for us. Perfectly stocked kitchen, comfortable bed, wonderful pool big enough to swim and get great exercise. Location just about 4 miles from Kailua-Kona city center made evening dinners out so convenient. Traveling to all parts of the island was easy from this location. Condo clean, comfortable and pretty. A perfect spot for our stay on the Big Island.
