My husband and I did enjoy the condo very much. Everything the listing said was accurate; the lanai is huge, the accommodations are beautiful. For us this was perfect and what we were looking for. However, we did have an issue with the unit above us. One in which I called the property management people to ask them to intervene. I was told that the above unit was not managed by the folks who manage the unit we were in. The gal said that she would reach out to the property management of the above unit and ask them to contact the folks who were in the above unit. Either none of that happened or the folks above us didn't care. There is very little, if any at all, insulation between the ceiling/floor above this condo. So every time the people walked around, or jumped!, we heard it, early morning, late at night. My husband ended up going upstairs and asking the folks if they would stop the jumping around. They had a child who added to the constant thumping. My husband was told by one of the occupants that they were leaving the next day - we woke up around 5:30am because that's when those folks were awake. We had approximately two days of "reprieve", then the next family occupied the unit above us. They, too, were early risers so we were woken up before 5:00am during their stay. I do not blame the occupiers of the unit upstairs - I had really no idea of how HEAVY walking around could truly sound for the folks in "below" units and will be exceedingly mindful should we be in an above unit. I think that the owner(s) of this particular condo should consider reaching out to whomever owns the unit above and get some sound proofing between the ceiling/floor. We did enjoy our stay here, as I said, this condo was what we were looking for, and suited our needs. The incessant thumping sounds that went on during our stay was highly irritating. Though we did love this unit, we will never stay here again. I'm giving the five stars based on the categories that were presented; this condo definitely rates five stars. But, and this according to the rules, quiet time is from 9:00pm-8:00am, we did not have the "quiet time".

We enjoyed our stay. The condo was a really nice layout for our family. Had sand toys and chairs. The pool was so close, which we spent alot of time at. One thing to note, the rental company did not seem very familiar with what was in the house. I reached out to see if there was a pack and play and they said no. After lugging a pack and play we discovered one the in the closet. Hopefully if someone else needs it,they read this review. All and all would love to stay again!

Spacious, clean, well stocked

We had a great stay at The Shore at Waikoloa ( unit 114 ). The directions where clear and it was easy to find. Location is convenient to the stores, great beach and restaurants. Steps away from the gym and the pool. Second time we stayed at The Shores, but first time in this unit. The unit itself was on the first floor close to the designated parking spot. Spacious, clean, well stocked kitchen with all the essentials and a really nice spacious lanai looking over the pont and the swimming pool. The buildings are older and need a little bit TLC on the outside, the complex has immaculate landscaping though. The unit itself is upgraded. The only things we didn't like was the open shower in the master bedroom, no door or shower curtain so it felt even cold standing under a hot shower. The only things what needs to be replaced is the washer ( this one is coming from the stone age ) not a great quality, making more noise and the programs are too short to clean clothing properly. Missing a BBQ on the lanai even though there are BBQ placed in different locations. Overall this was a great location, one of the better units. David the Kona Concierge was super responsive and booked my hubby a great photo tour. He emailed a couple times and mentioned great ideas to elevate your stay on the Big Island. Already planning for next year and definitely this unit again.

We are extremely pleased with our experience here at The Shores. Kona concierge was extremely attentive and friendly. The property was very clean and maintained very well. The beds were very comfortable too. The grounds were also very nice and the pool was just the right temperature. We will definitely stay here again. Thank you for making our vacation so comfortable.

This space and the entire complex is updated and very well maintained. The patio is wonderful and the pool area was great. The location is just a few minutes from beaches, stores/shopping and 20 minutes from the airport. If we return, we'd definitely stay here again!

The 4 of us enjoyed our stay at The Shores at Waikoloa #114. The condo was spacious, clean, and well appointed. We all liked the separation of the two bedrooms & bathrooms. The view of the pond, trees and flowers was great from the living area and the lanai. We thought the location was great, easy walk to many places in the resort area. We did have a bit of trouble figuring out the TVs, cable, and many remotes. Luckily we didn't watch much TV! All in all, a good choice for us. Thank you.

This condo was equipped with everything needed for my husband and myself. We mostly ate out, but e joyed morning coffee on the lanai that was peaceful overlooking ponds and the pool. We also liked there was a gym available. Close proximity to stores and shops.

I had a great stay at unit 114. It's nicely updated, very roomy, and located within a very short walk of the pool. There is a small closet full of beach stuff as well which was a nice surprise! Boogie board, umbrella, noodles, etc. the location is very quiet and relaxing, and having the outdoor patio is amazing for outdoor breakfast or dinner. The only gripe would be that the windows in the bathrooms make it so someone walking outside on he 2nd floor walkways could see into the shower if they crouched down but I had read other reviews mention this and was aware. Very Clean and Well Stocked

Condo was very clean and well stocked. We've stayed at other condos in Waikoloa and this one had the best floor plan for separating adults and kids. Was actually bigger than expected. Only complaint (and I don't know if this is the building itself or the neighbors), is that I'm convinced that the Hawaii Alpine Ski team was upstairs breaking in their new ski boots. Either that, or someone was upstairs playing fetch with a baby elephant. Every morning at 4:30 we heard loud steps going back and forth, back and forth, back and forth, back and forth…… across the condo upstairs. This actually caused the bedroom door to rattle with each lap. Could be old joists, or could be inconsiderate people… didn't ruin my trip in any way

This was a very nice, upgraded condo. The condo was very spacious, and it was decorated so nicely that it gave me some inspiration for a few upgrades that I want to do to my house. The location was very peaceful and it was convenient to lava lava, a bay, and other beaches nearby. We also checked out the Kings and Queens shops close by, which have a few really good dining options. The kitchen was well stocked with all the essentials. The property management was very professional, and they even called me to let us know we could check in early if we wanted. We hope to stay here again in the future!

We've stayed in this area twice and love it. This property is spacious, has all amenities, and is well maintained. We loved the ground floor access to the back yard overlooking the pool. Just steps from the pool, hot tub, gym, and grilling area. Easy 20 min walk to the beach, restaurants, and shops. We'd absolutely stay here again. One tip for the manager would be to consider blinds in the bathrooms. You can see into the full shower/bathroom from 2nd floor walkway. Plenty of beach accessories, chairs, boogie boards, etc. Love this property!

We enjoyed our stay at The Shores. It was convenient to stores and restaurants. The unit was comfortable and well equiped. We especially enjoyed the pond off the lanai where we could watch the birds, the koi swimming and it all felt very relaxing. A good location to head north, south or visit Volcano Nat'l Park.

The unit we rented was spacious and well equipped. It could use some updating and a good deep cleaning. The pool is a heated salt water pool which was very enjoyable. The Waikaloa beach area is a beautiful location. I recommend the area and The Shores. Just be selective about the unit you choose.

We had a great stay at the Shores. The suite was clean, spacious and in a great location with close proximity to the beach/shops, which were all within walking distance. The complex has immaculate landscaping and the kids felt very safe and loved the pool. The property managers were quick to address any concerns we had and kindly accommodated a later checkout. The unit was stocked with the necessities. The suite appears to have had some updates but could use some more in the near future. We had an enjoyable vacation and hope to be back. Mahalo!

Great Place

Place was great and very spacious although it is actually older than pictured. The kitchen had all needed pots/pans and even a rice cooker. The house also had boogie boards, sets of beach chairs and beach umbrellas that came in handy. Another positive comment is the property manager, Kona Coast Vacations, was so helpful and so thorough, we did not have any worries. They even had a concierge service that got 11of us booked at the very last minute for a manta ray snorkel dive. We did have a little issue with seeing roaches in 3 separate occasions. This was of course not a big deal for me — I understand we're in a tropical island but it was to my kids, especially my 10-yo who refused to sleep in his room after seeing one there. All good as he ended up just sharing the bed with me in the master BR the entire stay. My only wish was that the master bathroom had a door. The shower is wide open so anyone that walks in the bedroom can see you showering. Also not a big deal as i simply locked the bedroom door when showering. Overall, place is huge and lanai was beautiful ! There are beach equipment, stocked kitchen, washer/dryer, air conditioning and a very plush couch! Will definitely consider renting this place again!!!

Nice facilities. Some minor finishing touches needed due to use and age. Master bed too soft. Couch and chair in living room too soft. Kitchen well equipped. Ice maker is very productive. Tommy Bahama beach chairs and umbrellas were perfect. Purchased a smaller styrofoam ice chest as the one at property was too large to lug around. We left it there for future guests. We rented snorkel gear for our use. Over all good experience. Thank you!

Our family visited the Big Island for Spring Break, and thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this property. The huge lanai is beautiful, and the unit was spacious, clean and very comfortable. There are also ample beach chairs, beach towels, and toys which was appreciated. The complex is in a great location with close proximity to restaurants, the resorts, and beaches. The communication from the property management was also very responsive and accommodating. My only suggestion to most property owners is always the same - better knives, please. :) Mahalo for a great stay!

Overall enjoyable. Except for upper level noise. They were loud . A few items need to be looked at ..the kitchen outlet by the stove is not properly attached. Also the toilet seat in master bedroom is not properly attached. Fan in master needs to be balanced. Also need to spray for ants on patio. Bait traps don't seem to be working. Overall we did enjoy our stay.

This unit was perfect for our one week family stay. The bedrooms and bathrooms are as large as the photos depicted. The kitchen was very well appointed. We also appreciated the many beach towels and coolers in the unit. We enjoyed coffee on the lanai in the mornings while enjoying the birds, mongooses and beautiful Koi pond. We could see the pool from our lanai. The grounds are lovely and immaculate. Kona Coast Vacations was helpful, professional and accessible from the moment we booked and throughout our stay. The app and keyless entry was perfect. Mahalo!

Priced right for the location just off one of the best beaches on the island. 7 minute walk to Waikoloa Beach. 3 minute walk to the Tropics Pub. Which serves Corn Beef on St Patties day. Also great thin crust pizza for the kids. Great parking outside the condo. Plenty of room to spread out and eat outside or inside. It was myself and 3 golf buddies so I pulled one of the single beds outside, one of my brothers slept on the couch, one in the room that had the other of 2 double beds and one friend in the master. We golfed at the Mauna Lani South course one day and Mauna Kea the following. We ate out on the beach at the Lava Lava Club early one night and the Seafood bar and grill another . Ate all breakfasts at our place eating eggs, bacon, toast and banana and raspberry pancakes with Maple syrup plus all the coffee milk and OJ you could want. We made sandwiches and took Kettle chips, beer and water to the beach or the golf course every day . Oh the pool and jacuzzi were great after golf at night. The pool was warm and the Jacuzzi big and hot. Finally the best thing that made it for us was being able to either sleep in a little bit or get up and have a cup of coffee without hearing the noise of gardening equipment all morning. And the grounds were pristine with a beautiful koi pond outside our lanai. Great place for the price !!!!

Great place. A nice, clean, modern sizeable condo that is well stocked. Walking distance to most things in Waikaloa. The host was excellent upon booking, prior to arrival, during our stay and post departure.

The unit was clean, spacious and well stocked. We enjoyed the beach toys, close proximity to the pool and quiet complex - particularly during the busy holiday season. We have stayed in Waikoloa many times and this is one of the best units we have rented. Great for families and couples and a perfect location to explore the island. Restaurants, beaches and resort amenities are all close by. We are already looking at booking our next trip!

Great townhouse

Great townhouse, as pictured, in a nice touristy location (quiet gated neighborhood), walking distance to King's and Queen's shopping centers. The only minor complaint is the weak shower water pressure! :( everything else was great! We bbq'd and enjoyed the spacious outdoor space, which was a main reason we chose this property! Kona Coast responded timely on all my inquiries! Thank you!

Nice accommodations, looks like the picture. Very comfortable. Located next to several stores, restaurants, and resorts. The washer and dryer are small. Not a big deal except you should wash/dry the towels you use prior to check out. Makes it difficult because you have to do many loads.

We have stayed in Waikoloa one week per year for about a decade. We have stayed with Kona Coast at least twice, And we won't hesitate to stay with them again. Professionalism is top-notch, the unit is absolutely beautiful, the prices are very competitive and reasonable, and overall it is quite easy to give this state five stars.

First time staying at a Kohala Coast resort

It was my first time staying at a Kohala Coast resort rather than in Kailua-Kona, but I liked the location, amenities of the area, and the unit. Downsides are the lack of a grocery store and the greater driving distance from the airport and the vibe of Kailua-Kona. But this location is closer to the North Shore, Waimea and the Hilo coast and Volcanoes Park.

This was a great location; we think it's ideal for those with plans on both the Kona and Hilo side during their stay. It's also just a great location to be at. The property itself is wonderful. It was clean and came most everything you need to be comfortable and cook your own meals.
