The Ailina House was very nice, however, do note that there is not any AC in the house, and some nights you will be quite hot. There are plenty of ceiling fans and a handful of portable fans sitting around, which came into great use. All the rooms are nice, especially the master suite, although the master suite does not have a door to separate the bedroom from the bathroom, so noises can travel throughout.
Getting in the house was easy with the provided codes and there was a garage door opener waiting for us on the welcome packet, making getting in after that much easier, only one code to memorize, instead of garage and door codes. The pool was larger than expected, which was a very nice surprise. There is plenty of seating outside under the lanai, and the lanai even has screens you can let down to block direct sun from hitting you. The views from the master and the patio are indeed beautiful, and if you happen to be at the house during the sunset, you will not be disappointed. The house did have the basic essentials you need, as well as, spices, coffee grinder, and beach towels. Maybe you will get lucky and the guests before you will leave you some other items. We had leftover water, a snorkel kit, and extra toilet paper that we had no interest in taking with us, so we left it for the next group.
Kona Coast Vacations was quick to respond to a few issues I had with the house, and they were quick to respond, although one issue was never fixed, the pool light. The pool light did not work at all during our stay. There are an okay amount of outdoor lights, but only one that points in the direction of the pool, and really it is directed towards part of the patio on the side of the pool. The lanai is well lit. The house did have some pool toys/floats. The house is a very short drive to everything in Kona. Around 5-7 minutes to Walmart and 10 minutes to the ocean, restaurants and shops. David, Kona Coast Vacations' concierge, was incredibly helpful. We exchanged numerous calls and dozens of emails and he was able to not only make recommendations, but book some of our activities. A few activities we did were Flumin' Kohala, Island Breeze Luau, and two of my small group did the Blue Hawaiian helicopter tour. All recommendations of David and all good. Do note, if you are going to do the Volcano hike, either pay for the "VIP Parking" or get a bicycle. Walking the road, while not difficult, just becomes burdensome, and if you want to see some possible lava flows, the odds are you'll be trekking over the lava rocks for a few miles on top of the 3-4 miles on the road each way.
Our overall experience was very good and I would definitively recommend Kona Coast Vacations, if for nothing else,... Date of Stay: 9/10/17 to 9/16/17

This home was exactly as described. Only 10 miles from the airport and 2.5 miles from town. The infinity pool was excellent and the sunsets amazing. Sitting out in the covered lanai was everyone’s favorite spot. Internet and cell service were excellent.

This was a great place and we really enjoyed it. It's noted in the listing but the pool isn't heated which would have been fine if the weather had been warmer! It's well equipped in the kitchen, bathrooms. The master suite is amazing! It was lovely to go to bed with the sound of the tree frogs and wake up to the birds. Sunsets are unparalleled here.

Tons of Space

Let me start by saying the house worked out really great for me and my family. It was clean, the location was perfect and the view was amazing! There was also a ton of space so my kids could play around in the living room and also the beds were very comfortable. The house is on the older side, and I think could go from good to great with just a few things. For example, the master didn't have black out curtains, which as a parent trying to get some extra sleep on vacation was a bummer. Also some of the beds didn't have fitted sheets that were the right size, so they continuously got bunched up throughout the night which could easily be fixed with a few bucks. The showerhead in the master sprayed all over if you tried to adjust the angle, the drain in the tub was broken, the water on the fridge was broken, etc. None of these are a deal breaker by any means, but it would be nice if the little things were as great as the view. The other thing to mention, and they said this in the listing so it isn't anything that's their fault, but the pool is not heated. I had this vision of swimming all day with my kids, but even with low 80s during the day the pool was quite cold. I'm sure in summer it's perfect, but at least for us the temperature meant short swim sessions. It's something 100% on me for not doing a bit more research, but if you are planning on visiting in the winter and swimming all day, it will likely be too cold to comfortably do that. Overall though we had an amazing time and the location, view, check in and out, cleanliness, and lanai were great. Super grateful for our time here.

This property is just as the pictures advertise. The view from the pool is immaculate, rooms are large, neighborhood is fantastic, property was well maintained and clean. This property has an amazing infinity pool, and large Lanai area. There was a new Weber BBQ for our use also, which was awesome. The outside area is amazing and looks out over the ocean and over Kona Upstairs is the huge master with an enormous ensuite, and 2 smaller bedrooms both with Queen beds. There is also a shared bathroom, and lounge. The only downside is that the upstairs rooms are incredibly hot. Whilst all rooms have fans, portable small aircons would have made the world of difference (a small Dyson or the like). But otherwise a fantastic property, and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Thank you for having us.

We had a great stay! We'll located close to Magic and 2-Step beaches this was a great home base for our various adventures. We were very comfortable and the folks at the property manager's office were very helpful. Highlights included Volcano National Park and night-diving with the mantas.

Very Calm and Peaceful

From the minute we arrived and walked in the vibe was very calm and peaceful. The whole house was a great location for the four of us busy people to unwind and decompress. The pool and outdoor area were great, the outdoor shower a big plus and the upstairs bedrooms were comfortable and cool during the evening. The kitchen was adequate and needed some upgrades - the ice machine in the refrigerator was not working due to a water line issue and the glass stovetop had been cracked by a previous guest. But we were on vacation, so we did not see it as too much of an issue. The design and layout of the house was such that all rooms throughout the day and night were cool and comfortable. We especially enjoyed the rock garden and the infinity pool. We will definitively book Ailina House in the future

Beautiful, well-appointed home. Gorgeous ocean views from lanai and infinity pool (unheated). Neighbors pup, Morty, welcomed us and visited often to our delight. The house was lovely, breathtaking sunsets, perfect lanai for relaxing…everything was comfortable, thoughtful gift basket upon arrival. Our only comment would be that compared to the rest of the house, the kitchen was not as well supplied, as we had very little silverware, and the mugs and glasses looked like they came from a garage sale…I understand that a company manages the property, and they probably would have brought us more silverware and glasses had we asked. Overall, it was a wonderful experience at a great vacation house!

Our small family of 4 adults and an 11 y.o. stayed at the Ailani House property in Kona between Christmas and New Year's Day. The property was awesome and totally enjoyed by us. There is a commanding view of the Kona coast overlooking the pool. All of our dining was outside. The pool, although unheated, was still enjoyed. The house was a very relaxing place to start and end our excursions. Kona Coast property management was very responsive in helping us in the one instance we needed them.

5-Star Rating, Beautiful Home

Six of us (ages 18 to 54) stayed at this property in July and it was lovely. The lanai especially is stunning, with a beautiful patio and infinity pool. The house is nicely decorated and we especially loved the gardens around the house. It is very conveniently located to downtown Kona, the beaches, and only about 20-25 minutes from the airport. Hosts were very responsive to all of our questions. The only thing I would warn future renters about is the very early wakeup call by the neighborhood birds ! We of course slept with windows open and the birds start singing (loudly!) by about 5 am - Obviously not something the owners can control and not specific to this property, but just something to note if you like to sleep in. But overall would give this property a 5-star rating, beautiful home and convenient to everything!

Our stay at the Ailina house was amazing. The views are obviously breathtaking and the house itself is perfect. The office is bigger than expected and worked out for us as a place to have our toddler sleep in a pack N play. We had an amazing time on the Big Island and this house felt like home by the time we left.

What an amazing house! The big Island itself is gorgeous and we knocked out every possible thing from getting remarried to night diving with manta rays to the waterfall adventures. But the true gem was enjoying the incredible house with the pool that our 3 kids were in for hours a day and amazing ocean views. It's also set up perfectly with tupperware of all sizes and a cooler for beach picnics etc. GREAT house and we will be back!

Loved the infinity pool, had a lot of great times there with friends and is definitely the center piece of the house. We were very satisfied with the house, only complaint was we had a bit of trouble with the wifi in some of the bedrooms, the 5g did not reach and the smart tv could not connect to networks either. Other than that the house was great.

Kona view home w/ pool

Nice clean home, however very dark. Low light levels were expected as it was a common complaint with other reviewers. Views are very nice, pool was very cold but refreshing. Beds were very comfortable (even the futon!) Pool needs some updating & would have been more enjoyable if we could have used the hawaiin style torches on either side of the pool. Close to Kona, Magic Sands beach and Kona coffee farms.

The house was a beautifully designed house and very comfortable. We basically lived on the lanai with the dining table and infinity pool and the view of the ocean. The only disappointment was the lack of tools in the kitchen. Even to make a basic meal, it was lacking, i.e. no potato peeler, no whisk, knives that would only cut hot butter (and no sharpener), very few teaspoons-a complete silverware set would be nice. For such a nice home and the rental price, a better stocked kitchen is a reasonable expectation. After all, with such a nice place, we wanted to enjoy meals in and eat on the lanai.

We had an amazing week staying at this lovely place! Every sunset, I found myself out on the deck taking pictures. Just couldn't resist! The kids also loved the pool and were in it probably 5 hours a day. The location is great and is just a few minutes drive from magic sands beach (great for boogie boarding) and the downtown area. Our concierge (David) was amazing. He was super responsive and helped us book a few boat trips and zip lining. Super helpful and friendly!

We very much enjoyed our stay at this wonderfully designed Lucky Bennett house! Besides being close to Kailua-Kona, Keauhou Bay, Captain Cook and the airport, it offered just about everything a guest could ask for. The pool was crystal clear and refreshing, the view was spectacular and the bird activity made you feel as if you were living in a jungle. The master bedroom and en suite were lovely and private. The additional two bedrooms were more than adequate for our other three guests. We felt right at home in the well-equipped kitchen and beautiful living room. But, most of our time was spent outside on the lanai! Every afternoon, we gathered on the lanai for one last swim of the day, a cocktail, BBQ, the sunset, stargazing and even whale-watching. It doesn't get any better than that!

The overview and reviews do a good job describing the house features and its location is hard to beat for the airport, activities, Kailua-Kona, etc. My wife and I spent every morning drinking our coffee on the lanai overlooking the ocean. We would go explore during the day and be back in time for sunset, the view is something you will never forget!

Amazing house for a perfect vacation!

When you see a rental that looks as amazing as the Ailina house - you may not believe that it is as good in person. However it was WAY better than we could have imagined! We were a group of 4 and this house was the perfect cornerstone for our adventures on the big island. You could easily stay by the picturesque pool all day - with adorable gold dust geckos hanging out nearby it kept all of us entertained with our morning coffee. The sunsets over the pool are also dazzling. We chose to make two day trips to Hilo during our stay, 1 for a day of waterfalls and the other for Volcano National Park. The drive was about 1.5 hour each way and it was worth it. There were also tons of activities nearby, like the Kona brewing company, magic sands beach, a site that offered night manta snorkeling! As if the trip wasn’t amazing enough, we have to give a special Mahalo to Laurie with Kona Coastal Vacations! One of my friends left her phone at the house and Laurie went above and beyond to return it to us as quickly as possible! We will definitely be back to the Big Island again and return to the Ailina house!

The Ailina House was absolutely incredible! The view from the lanai and infinity pool was enjoyed by all each night. We were also very close to Safeway, Walmart, and Costco, so we were able to cook from home most meals. David, the concierge, was knowledgeable and very helpful in booking activities for us. Awesome Kona Sunsets

This house had a nice layour for our vacationing family of four (mom, dad, and 2 teenage daughters). Main floor has entry foyer, family room, and kitchen with a wall of glass doors to the west opening on to the lanai and infinity pool overloking the ocean view. Second floor has two bedrooms that share a bath to the east and the master suite with screened balcony alcoves looking once again to the ocean. We were cool enough to sleep with the ceiling fans and screened windows open during our 2 week stay over Christmas/New Years...not sure that would be the case in the summer months. Kitchen has a large pantry and almost enough cooking utensils...seemed we were always needing something. Pool is beautiful but was too cold to swim in for our family...once again winter months. Location is convenient to Kailua-Kona. Home is decorated with native Hawaiian décor that we found interesting. We did have an issue with the microwave oven and contacted Kona Coast Rentals. They were very attentive and replaced the microwave within an hour. Date of Stay: 12/221/17 to 1/4/18

We loved the Ailina house. It couldn't have been more perfect for our group of 4 adults and a 5 year old. The fans kept the house cool and the beds were comfortable. There was loads of space to relax and get away from each other if we needed to. We loved having all the doors open downstairs with that lovely Hawaiian breeze blowing through the house. We were able to use the sound bar with bluetooth - you just have to download a Yamaha app for it and the sound was great. Best days spent floating in the pool, watching the sunset, and having a BBQ. I couldn't recommend Kona Coast Vacations more highly. They were helpful and attentive and easy to communicate with. A truly beautiful house in a magical location. I wish I was back there now!

Our group of 6 truly enjoyed the Ailina house stay with the beautiful home and outdoor living. This location is about 10 minutes to Kona and near many great snorkeling beaches. The grandkids loved having the private pool and everything we needed to fix our own meals. We only wish there was one room with air-conditioning as it was a little muggy at times, although fans are available. Date of Stay: 8/21/17 to 8/30/17

We had a great time at the Ailina house - it was perfect for us with two kids and my mother along. There was plenty of space for us all to spread out and enjoy whatever spaces we wanted to be in. It's located about a 10-12 minute drive from Kailua Pier (the center of all the action in town), so it's easy to get everywhere, but also very quiet. The property management company is incredibly attentive, and the private concierge was so helpful with booking activities for us in advance of our trip - definitely take advantage of this service! The pool and lanai were FABULOUS, and the big gas grill worked great. Indoor/outdoor living at its finest! The TVs were completely unnecessary. The beds were very comfortable, and it was awesome to sleep with all the windows open and wake up to birdsong every morning. The two smaller bedrooms were always a bit warm during the day, even with fans going and windows open, but got very comfortable overnight. If you're into making exotic cocktails, I suggest you bring your own jiggers and/or liquid measuring cups. Also, the stereo equipment doesn't include bluetooth or a mini plug, which is a bummer, because the lanai is wired with speakers all around. You can plug into the TV's sound bar, or bring your own bluetooth speaker like we did. We couldn't stop raving about how awesome it was staying at this house. I want to try staying in Hilo next time we come to the Big Island, but it will be hard to not just want to go back to Ailina House!
