We love this condo. We made reservations to return next year. This is the thid year we have stayed in this condo. Beautiful views, the pools are beautiful, the ocean is steps away. We have met many wonderful people there. The condo is nicely furnished and has everything you could possibly want.

The stay at Casa de Emdeko was a wonderful experience. The resort is an older resort with loads of charm. Our accommodations (121) were cute and comfortable with a beachy vibe. The king bed and pillows were so very comfortable, there was a nice large screen TV and a cute kitchen suitable for our food preparation. The air conditioning worked well and it was always cool. There was also a ceiling fan in the bedroom for added comfort. There was a large patio sliding door for a view of the beautiful, well maintained grounds. Also a lanai where we could sit and watch the beautiful tropical birds while we relaxed. As mentioned, the grounds are lovely with 2 fenced pool areas. There is a large cabana towards the back of the grounds where my husband enjoyed free morning coffee daily from 7:00 to 10:00 with another family member. There is a nice sandy beach area with palm trees and numerous lounge chairs with one of the most gorgeous ocean views I have ever seen. It's was an amazing experience to watch the sunset there nightly. If returning to Kona for another visit, I would definitely stay at this resort again.

It was very convenient location if you wanted to park right next to your door. No that much foot traffic since it is at the beginning of the building. Did have a view of the fountain. The only condiment they had was salt. Would have been nice to have a few more. Also would have been nice to have plastic ziplock bags. Being where it was, I am sure it was much cooler than the other rooms.

The property is gorgeous and the condo is perfect if you want a simple place to lay your head down at night. Close drive to pretty much everything you could want or need. The pools and beach on property are a nice convenience if the waters are rough. I enjoyed sitting out on the patio while reading or just watching the birds and lizards. It was really convenient being able to walk out the backdoor straight to the pools and/or beach. Having a door code rather than keeping track of a room key was a huge positive. Parking is not guaranteed right outside your room and you could have to park outside the gate if the lot is full. The kitchen had all the dishes we needed to make small meals. There were beach chairs and other small beach items in the hall closet we used when we went to Magic Sands. The condo was clean and updated.

We loved our stay! It was a great unit placed in just the right place of Casa de emdeko! Gated resort was a safety plus. We loved the first floor and were thankful to be able to exit the unit to rest of the resort to pools, beach, barq area. The resort all in all was a delight. Oh the sunsets!!!! Great having a small Store just outside the gate. And bus stops Everything in 121 was well stocked with shampoo, bathroom toiletries, cleaning supplies and the unit was clean, and very comfortable. Great having a unit close to the laundry room next door, but would be a plus to have in the unit. It was cool that our fishing pole was still there from last year! The bedroom was perfect and very comfy with lots of pillows,the ceiling fan helped make temp great.! I love the large walk-in shower with a seat very much! Would have liked to have seen a facelift to the kitchen, and living room furniture. I thought something was in the works from last year's visit to 121. Removing all the cabinets in the kitchen and replacing them with shelves. would leave more room for a new microwave. under cabinet lighting is about to fall. Really need a kitchen exhaust fan. We kept setting the fire alarm off when cooking in the oven. Oven seems ok, Fridge very loud. When running the water in the kitchen there was an awful smell thinking maybe old garbage disposal? Water didn't smell in the glass and tasted fine. Not sure about the dishwasher, we wash our own dishes by hand. We bought some hot pads, dish towels, a drying mat instead of the bulky green dish drainer, and also bought a small rug inside the glass doors to the lanai. Not much for barq tools but one Spatula. The couch and chair have seen better days. pillows too. The Lanai table and chairs were very comfortable. Had most of our meals out there. Although we were on the sunny side of the resort, the unit kept a very comfortable temp. We would love to return, sure I am praying updates happen.

Updated a ton of kitchen inventory and the area rug. Owner had the hinges in the kitchen replaced and repainted the cabinets but hes not doing any kind of remodeling at the moment.

The apartment is located a bit south of the city center of Kona so that you will need your car for getting to the bars and restaurants of the area. It is embedded in a beautiful condo that comes with two pools, one fresh water and one sea water pool. They have even created a small, artificial beach where you can rest, however the apartment doesn´t have direct access to the sea. For me the whole garden and beach area was the highlight of this property. The apartment is located at the ground floor, is a bit dark and mouldy. It is also a bit worn out, the kitchen floor has a couple of holes in it. The kitchen is really big and well equipped. The whole booking procedure is rather complicated, as you will get lots of documents from the actual property owner Kona Coast vacations. They are very strict on the house rules, you can´t leave anything (not even towels or shoes) outside on the terrace and they will threaten you with a high penalty in case you should damage anything. Although the apartment wasn´t bad, I think that the price is too high for what it offers.

Overall we really enjoyed our stay and will be back! It was easy to find & we appreciated that the property was gated & that the door had a key pad! No keys to worry about losing and easy entry into the pools! The kitchen was equipped with the basics. Beach towels, umbrella, sand toys provided. Cable TV & other streaming services provided. Great location minutes outside of downtown Kona! We loved being ground floor & able to walk around on a whim. Sunsets are GORGEOUS out on the sandy overlook! Outside the patio there is a waterfall and it creates a great ambiance when sitting on the comfy patio set. Enjoyed the community library! The grounds are well kept and beautiful! The 2 pools are fabulous but the one next to the ocean is enough reason to stay here! Small things that could be improved: -Cleaning. Floors were a bit dirty upon arrival. Toilet paper roll had been wet at some point but still installed on the roller which just gave us a yucky first impression. -Maintenance. Many things are worn & we absolutely wouldn't expect perfection in a high volume rental but one days work with some paint, scrubbing, and minor handy work could do wonders. -Sharp knives. -Cooking essentials get stripped after each guest. Meaning there is absolutely no salt, pepper, cooking oil, etc (but they warn you ahead about this). In our 3+ weeks, we grew to love it here. It ended up perfect for our stay & our first choice when returning! Very charming!

It is ideally located & such an amazing property. The only amenities that I did not explore was the pool.
The stroll into Kona is perfect & when I did not feel like walking the trolly stop is right in front of convenient store.

The property was well maintained. I would suggest that the interior bedroom and bathromm doors be replaced. They are in disrepair and detract from the overall good condition of the property. During the first week of our stay the refrigerator had a problem and I contacted the management company. This was a wonderful vacation for our family of 3. The home was clean and had all the amenities we needed, including a VERY comfortable bed, laundry, and kitchen equipment. The salt water oceanside pool was incredible, and my 8 year old daughter loved watching dolphins and outriggers go by. I would absolutely stay here again! stayed

This was a great place for us to stay during our all-too-brief first visit to the Big island. The location is close to downtown Kailua, but not too close. There is a grocery/deli across the parking lot that is very convenient and had almost everything we needed. The condo was clean, well-equipped, and certainly roomy enough for two people. We spent a lot of time at the oceanfront and would certainly consider staying here again on a return trip. Overall, we were quite satisfied with the experience. stayed 2/4/2016 - 2/9/2016

I have stayed at the Casa de Emdeko every year for 20 years. This condo was poorly insulated in the ceiling. our 4 week visit was marred by upstairs noise. Every foot fall telegraphed downstairs. This condo is also in dire need of update. Very tired interior. The facility itself including pools and management were great as usual. Other Casa De Emdeco condos I have stayed in were modern and quiet. Try to get third floor for view and quiet.
