Humpy’s Big Island Ale House
Beer lovers will want to head over to Humpy’s Big Island Ale House. Located oceanfront and featuring 36 handcrafted microbrews along with a full bar, Humpy’s also offers a great food menu, and upstairs you will find live music and dancing until 2 a.m.
Kona Brewing Company
If you want to brewery-hop in Kona, check out Kona Brewing Company as well as Humpty’s. Super-popular spot with locals and visitors alike, Kona Brewing Company offers numerous excellent microbrewed beers; their beer is so good that it’s sold everywhere in the state. They also have great food and live music nightly by some of the Big Island’s hottest reggae and rock bands.
Laverne’s Sports Bar
For a truly awesome dive bar, check out Laverne’s Sports Bar on Ali‘i Drive. Catch the game—any game—on their 32 televisions and enjoy breakfast, lunch or dinner. Boasting the best burgers and coldest beer on the island, Laverne’s really cranks up on the weekends with live music and occasional appearances by some of the Big Island’s hottest recording artists. DJ dancing rules after 10:00 p.m. and Laverne’s is one of the few Big Island bars that are open until 2:00 a.m.
